Good purchase. We have a 300 utility in our collection. It is a handy tractor. I wish it has power steering. If it did I would mount a front end loader on it. The C169 engine hs plenty of power and the live hyd and fast hitch are nice to have. You will like the 300.
Great save! this past year I have acquired a 1958 IH 330, and boy have I had my work cut out for me. I enlisted a close friend to help me on the 330. basket case to begin with , believe me when i say "basket case", it was literally in boxes totes,. actually have a believe to be a 60 or 90wagnor backhoe and a 120 loader for the tractor, came original with it. if i knew how to load a picture of it I would.
Hope the old H don't get thrown on the back burner ! You know what happens when you start on a bunch of them. But those 300/400 are beautiful . I was brought up on a 350 row crop. I can see this will be maybe your favorite when done. You may have saved her from the iron man. I have a bunch of tractor and old equipment and it's tires tires tires batteries batteries batteries o will it's a hobby. Love your videos.
Just take a couple of parts off at a time. I started on mine about 5 years ago and then got a kw to restore. Just sold the kw and now I am back in tractor mode. Mine is locked up. Just pulled the head today and it's a heavy buger .. lol, fun times
I got the other 300 with the backhoe and loader right after I picked up this one. Shoot me an email and I can send ya some pics and measurements. Sevenvalleysfarmalls@gmail.com
I have a 56 300. Power steering is giving me some fits. The freeze plug was leaking so I took it out. Looked like new. Put some Permatex sealer on it and waited a few days before putting oil in it. Used it a few days. The steering works good one way but hard the other. Yesterday When using it, I seen oil on the street and looked under it. I think the plug is leaking again. Not sure what is up. Anyone have any ideas? Thank you
Maybe top it off with fluid again. When mine tightens up (‘57 350U) it is in both directions. If I shut off the tractor and restart it the power steering returns. 3 years I been putting up with it. 😢
@@opengate5849 I put all new O rings in the steering shaft. Put freeze plug back in the bottom of Steering case. Used it thought all was good and my wife said your loosing oil again. I never put the plug in the top of the steering case after putting oil back into it. I dropped a bolt that would plug the hole, but if pressure built up in case. It would push bolt up and not hurt anything in system. I am getting oil pressure build up in my steering case some how. I'm thinking someone before me has hook the lines up backwards. I've parked it for now. So will be awhile before I work on it again. Have to do some checking with a mechanic who worked at IH. Thank you for your help.
my dad and i restored my grandpas 1956 300 utility. 3 years ago i do have a grill for it if that was my tractor ill would put new rims and tiers. i fond parts in tractors junk yards flea markets at tractors shows and all state ag parts and so you know thay do not make new radtors for a 300 utility im from waupun wisconsin
Wow, just WOW! ❤😮
Luv that utility model. When I was a boy it was easy to pull into the barn to clean gutters before barn cleaner.

The basket cases are more fun though and definitely more rewarding when you get to fire them up for the first time! Good luck with the 330!
Another one gets saved! Good luck!
Gotta save them from the scrappers and parting them out!
Sure looks good now that it's out of the weeds...good find

Nope the H is still getting love lol Im looking forward to getting the 300 up and running but so far my Super A is still my favorite lol
Nice. I recently picked up a 300U w/ U34 loader & aftermarket 3 point. 1955.
Thats awesome! Is it running or in need of a rebuild like this one?
know anyone close tenn. that would buy one painted-new tires?
My dad had 300 utility. When he bought it was painted like a 350 series too. In fact lot of 300s and 400s were repainted like the 50 series.
Very true brother, even my Super A had the white on it from a dealer in the 50s.
Want another one to restore? Lol I have my grandads 300 utility, still runs and drives, but I'd like to have it restored someday
As soon as I get more space to work Id be happy to!
my dad and i restored mine in a one car garage

You got the better of the two. You can always buy a three point backhoe if that is what you want
I got the 2nd one for basically for free! $400 for both was a great deal!
