"why not replace it?". I don't know if all of you know that, but there are people that get like less than $300 a month. I get like $100 a month because I'm unemployed and I do some cleaning. The cost of living in poor countries is low but everything that's imported can be expensive including a band. I'm not going to do what is shown in the video but it's a creative solution and i liked that.(I would do that if i could, but my band is beyond repair)
Great job! Smart, creative, effective, & inexpensive! People who are saying "just buy a new one" don't realize that being smart about spending money & making the things we own stretch as long as possible can, over time, sometimes mean the difference between a meal, a tank of gas, or even a roof over our heads heads for many of us. If you buy a new one every time something goes wrong instead of making a fix, it adds up. Also, all that stuff we so readily throw away often ends up in a landfill or our poor abused oceans. Better to have a mindset to fix rather than toss if it is possible. Thanks for this! "Fix broken Suunto Ambit silicone strap / band / bracelet - v1.0" - by Algimantas [mcsmama 5.1.2022]
These silicon straps always tear with me quite soon. I don't know what it is, maybe my skin grease or sweat is interacting with this kind of material. But it always happens soon or later that the watchband suddenly snaps and falls of my wrist. The first thing I buy after buying a new watch is a new nylon strap. It's just about €2,00 inc. shipping when looking on Aliexpress. And to my opinion quite worth it on a €200/ €300 watch like this. You don't need to replace it for manny years (it probably lasts until the life of the watch itself), it always stays sturdy, it's easy to clean/wash and I don't need be afraid of suddenly loosing a €200/ €300 watch because the strap suddenly snaps. And you will always see that this happens on the most annoying occasions. And you don't want your expensive watch getting dropped on the concrete sidewalk, or loosing it while driving motorcycle or hiking in the woods, where you probably even won't notice it when the strap snaps. Good luck finding it back then. A new nylon watch strap is a damn good investment for only €2. Especially on a more exclusive watch like this. Which is the same price as a pack of cable ties btw. loosing a €200/€300 watch are a lot of meals and a few tanks of gas too :)
I think he should buy a new one being that this video was made 4 years ago and I'm just watching it in the future it's high time that this cheapo should get a new watch. Not just a strap. Alright?
Thank you so much. My band broke today and I was so disappointed. Now I can fix it thanks to you. You are very creative. Thanks for sharing this idea. Have a day day
I honestly wouldn't buy watches designed with this kinda integrated rubber strap, it is simply a pain to fix. Own a casio ae1200 for a couple of years and the strap broke on me, I put it a cheap nato strap and I could still wear it like normal. Anyway, good job fixing the strap.
