To quote Johnny Campbell: IMPRESSIVE!! It warms my heart that you were selected to be part of the Honda ride. You represent Honda so well with everything you do and deserved the experience. I agree with you about the tire and gas tank. It must be a girlie thing. 🤣 It was also good to see you and Dork in the Road doing something together again. Happy holidays to you and your family.
Can't believe a Baja legend and some of the great UA-camrs I follow came right through the Redwoods I have called home my whole life! I wish I would have seen you all pass through. Funny how If you are born and raised in the old growth Redwoods you take them for granted. I get more excited about wide open deserts where you can see for miles without trees blocking the view. Thanks for the great content.
You and your riding resume is impressive! And you had me think that somewhere around the time you did a SaddleSore with Kerri. What a special treat to hang with this Honda-affiliated group!
OMG no!!! I too LOVE the 21 inch front wheel with the 6.5 gallon fuel tank. I'm on a 2021 ES/DCT bike. Great video and thanks for the ride along Amanda. 🏍🏍
Fabulous video and what an opportunity to ride the new models! Surprised to see Brad there, he was the guide on the tour I took through Baja. He's a great dude!
I agree with you about the 21. It would be nice if you could pick. Honestly, I think I'd go with the Transalp over the AT. Better power to weight ratio, but you'd have to do a lot of upgrades to get it how I would prefer it. Like tubeless tires and cruise control. I never get tired of riding the Oregon Coast.
I have the '24 Africa Twin Adventure Sports ES, I bought it specifically because of the 19" front wheel and 6.5gal tank. I tried out a 2019 Africa Twin with the intention of buying it but after I rode it I changed my mind, I didn't care for the handling of the 21" wheel (amongst other things). My riding is primarily long distance touring on the street so the handling of the 19" wheel fits me better, I will still ride it on any dirt road and don't feel it limits me at all in that regard. Heck, my old 2003 HD Night Train probably saw more dirt roads than most ADV bikes on the road today.
Never fail to amaze me. Have you done all the lighthouses on the Oregon coast and the covered bridge loop down by Cottage Grove. Maybe a future vlog :) SOOO many things to do in Oregon but you know that!!!!!!!!!
As always, an excellent video Amanda. I live in southern Oregon and rode that area many times. Your crescent city filming was spot on. But, how did you arrange for perfect weather?
Thank you Amanda this is one of the trips my son and I will be taking in 2027 we are buying a bike over there and starting at Seattle then doing Oregon, California, Nevada, South Dakota, Montana, Idaho and back to Washington and maybe a few states inbetween you are such an inspiration and it's one of the reasons my son and I are coming over to your country to experience the riding keep doing what your doing cheers Gary and Grayson
I bought a set of Hippo Hands a couple months back and I swear to god they’ve been the Best investment ever.. I ride in 32+ degree rainy weather in the mountains of far north California. In my summer gloves! Less bulky than my heated gloves. Riding a 1200GS. Sure would be fun to have them as a sponsor!! Great video!!💯👍🏽❤️
I already have Hippo Hands 😊👌 you can see them on the bike in the first two episodes of the most recent Cross Country series but also the Flight South as well and many other videos on the channel ☺️
Some of the end shots caught my eye. The waterfalls remind me of the weeping wall in Glacier. In the spring it is a free car/bike wash. I really miss Montana.
I'm 58 years old and would love to have an adventure bike. But I've only had 6 years of experience riding. The adventure bikes just seem too tall for me, so I got me a Honda SCL500 Scrambler and I'm so loving that bike.
I live in Gold Beach, the Samuel Boredman Corridor is my daily ride. May I recommend the Coquille Scenic Byway, Hwy 33. Also, Carpenterville Hwy as local rides. LOVING RIDING THE PNW. Your always welcome at Indian Creek.
I had an ‘18 ATAS. Loved the color scheme. I will eventually buy a new one and want a non DCT ATAS but want the 21” front wheel and bigger tank! I standard AT is okay but the tri-color of the ATAS is 🔥🔥🔥!!! You’re not alone in your thinking!
Uhoh, just when I decided to NOT trade in my 2023 Transalp for the new 2025 ATAS with ES, tubeless tires, cruise control and other things I would _like_ to have on the TA... You put out a new video... I'll still test drive the 2025 ATAS and if I really like it, I'll maybe buy one from stock that they want to sell at the end of next year.
I absolutely go for the big tank + 21"" front wheel. But I'm planing to just order the new adventure and then order a spare 21" front wheel for when I go long gravel trips or for long gravel + B roads trips. I also enjoy cross country trips and I believe the 19" wheel is perfect for that.
I also have the 2022 ATAS DCT and strongly prefer its larger wheel and tank. I do mostly multi-day off-road camping trips, and I prefer not to carry extra gas on my already loaded bike, so it's been perfect for my needs. I get having a smaller tank and wheel for a sport version of the bike but not an adventure version.
Love your videos! If you ever make it to San Diego California please let me know and you’re always welcome to stay here! Kinga from On Her Bike just stayed here for a week. I ride a 2021 GSA 1250. Travel safe 😊
I'm wondering about the 19 vs 21 front wheel I have ywo bikes with 21"wheels and both are good. My feeling is that a bigger wheel goes through potholes better. I can't tell a difference on the highway. My GL1200 has a 16" front tore but this a completely different bike. Highway cruiser.
I agree, the handling off road with a 21" wheel isn't worth sacrificing for the negligible handling improvement on road with a 19" wheel in comparison 🤷 but everyone has an opinion lol
Unfortunately a good part of the original route had to be scrapped due to weather so I don't have the whole thing. We were supposed to go from Lakewood and take back roads down the Cascades cross at Cascade Locks then down to Sisters where we would have taken the pass over to Eugene. So I only have the part where we took back roads to Coos Bay then just followed the PCH to Eureka with a small detour to the Avenue of the Giants.
If the economy and tax structure changes dramatically I would love an Africa Twin. Currently thry are $55,000 in Argentina. Out of my reach. My wife likes the Africa Twin so it would be no fight to buy one if I had the money.
I didn’t notice any helmet communication devices…? That’s always one of the biggest problems when we get a group together, is getting all those devices synced up.
We were not synced up. The only ones in communication was the lead, sweep and the driver. I don't personally enjoy being connected to more than one person on comms while I'm riding , I find it distracting. Besides we all had different devices and some of the engineers' English was a little rough. We communicated via hand signals the old fashioned way most of the time 😊
It is or should be a crime to live in that part of the US and not ride a motorcycle once in a while at those locations. I would take the 18 or 21 inch front tire and the bigger tank.
I understand the need/desire for a 21 inch front (better obstacle clearance) and larger fuel tank (reduce fuel anxiety) for those long stretches of road/trails with no fuel services available. I'm assuming the engineers were thinking that a smaller fuel tank is satisfactory b/c paved road touring trips would typically have more fuel services available.
But they're saying the Standard (with the smaller tank) would be the off road version not the street touring version. The Adventure Sports with the bigger tank is now the road touring version (which if I'm following you've argued doesn't need the larger tank because of access to fuel stops.) ? Or have I misunderstood you?
@@AstheMagpieFlies LOL...I was just agreeing with you that I would like the 21 inch front with a larger tank. As for my comments about the engineers. It was a misunderstanding or miscommunication on my part. A smaller fuel tank for the Standard version intended for off-road does make sense b/c a lighter bike would be easier to manage, but I would have fuel anxiety; hence, my desire for more fuel capacity. ..... I'm wondering if the 21-inch on the 2025 Standard bike would fit on the 2025 Adventure Sports. Hopefully a simple swap....something I would need to explore at the next motorcycle show or dealer visit.

Thank you 😊😊
Great video as always! Thanks for the shout out, until next time.

WOW! Your riding experience is impressive! So happy for you to get to go on this Adventure! Thank you for continuing to share your Journeys.
Thanks for taking us on this ride. An Adventure Bike needs a 21" front wheel. For the streets you can buy the NT1100.
Not available in the US. :(
Thanks for the info!
Amanda, enjoyed the video. Oregon coast is beautiful. Thanks for sharing and RIDE SAFE OUT THERE!
You and your riding resume is impressive! And you had me think that somewhere around the time you did a SaddleSore with Kerri. What a special treat to hang with this Honda-affiliated group!

Thank you so much for watching!

I haven't been to ALL the lighthouses but ALMOST I think I'm only missing like 2 🤔
I think I've only been to two of the covered bridges in Oregon lol
Awesome.... What an amazing opportunity, but you have definitely paid your dues.
Thanks you! 🙏
As always, an excellent video Amanda. I live in southern Oregon and rode that area many times. Your crescent city filming was spot on. But, how did you arrange for perfect weather?
I think we paid our penance while we were in Washington so the weather gods graced us with one beautiful day 😊 thank you!!

What a fantastic trip you have planned! I wish you all the best! 🙏
You are impressive! So's your channel, great content, I like the smooth, calm pace of your videos.
Thanks for watching! I really appreciate it.
Another beautiful video. And heck yeah, you should do Dakar!!

And I'm absolutely one that would want a 21" and a big tank. I had a 2020 myself. Weird move by Honda...
Thank you! 😊 I knew I was not the only one!!
Very kewl, Amanda! I finally made it out that way this June and it was amazing. Looking forward to going back again.
That's awesome! Glad you had a good time 👍
I absolutely want the 19" front tire and the big gas tank. The anxiety of running out of gas in the backwoods is always on my mind.
Nice watching your latest trip, always satisfying to watch your adventures, keep riding Amanda, hope you discover more interesting places, take care.
Glad you enjoyed it! I'm having a blast exploring new places.
Nice calming video!👍 I have a 24 base AT, and I love it.
I'm glad you enjoyed it! The AT is a great bike! 😊

What an awesome trip. I ride a 2019 Africa twin adventure sport manual. I love it. Traded my pan america for it.
You made the right call! It's an awesome bike! 😊

please sell the transalp w/ tubeless wheels!! At least as an option. Also the Africa Twin Adventure at least should come with backlist switches.

This was awesome! Did you save the route? I’m planning a similar ride and was curious where it took you

Samuel H Boardman added to my list of adventure destinations TY!
💯😊👍
Fantastic trip! Makes me miss home (WA).
I'm glad you enjoyed it!
For you : is the transalp easier to ride compared to the AFAS DCT?
🤔 all bike experience is personal, I would still rather be on the ATAS DCT but that's just me 😊
I live in the rainforest. The Revitt h20 is excellent in my experience.
Same! I love that suit! It kept me toasty and dry on my cross country trip too!
I wish I could ride with ya.
If the economy and tax structure changes dramatically I would love an Africa Twin. Currently thry are $55,000 in Argentina. Out of my reach. My wife likes the Africa Twin so it would be no fight to buy one if I had the money.
21" wheels and the larger tank for the win.
Thank you! I knew I wasn't the only one!
The redwoods are humbling..
Yessss this. 💯
You got to ride with Dork, wow who carried all his baggage for him? Oh there was a chase truck, nvr mind.
