Nice view Chad. Major issue: not enough of your cat. Needs more cat. Seriously though, good review and coverage of the good and bad. Based on how it was delivered, I can see why there would be mirror alignment issues! I did the pre-order so looking forward to getting mine. Hopefully, minus the mirror alignment issues.

Haha glad you caught that Drew 🤣 it was a fun one to do, I can’t wait to do more with it. It’s pretty incredible technology. Also you passed me on Subs you turd, looks like I’ve got some work to do to catch up.
I was lucky that mine didnt need realigning! You are right, I don't wish mirror alignment on anyone, but it is a necessary skill needed for a laser business.
Glad to hear it, I am hoping my case was the minority. It can be a frustrating process, but once tuned up properly was a powerful machine I still cannot believe the cutting power they are getting out of that 50-55w tube. They must be picking premium components.
Thanks for saying that, I really didn’t expect a 55w to perform with this much cutting power, I couldn’t resist verifying what I saw in the live stream.
@Chads Custom Creations You sold me at the 1:57 mark when you said "Why should you believe my opinion...", then immediately had a cat enter the frame. 😺

I want a comparison between the Glowforge and the Xtool. Because the Glowforge is amazing for the price. The quality of engravings is awesome. Im using it in Germany, because Trotec is to expensive and Glowforge has the biggest community.
I've a Glowforge Pro too (in Italy)... and I'd like to know if it's the moment of upgrading it... or would it be a downgrade? For me the precision and quality of the produced pieces is the most important thing (and the GF produces excellent artifacts). The GF Pro in Europe is nearly 10K€... but the build quality and design is awesome (and smaller than the P2). What I really miss is a serious air assist for quick jobs... and the ability to so precisely center the engraving! That rice test is incredible... More... I like a lot the thinking attitude of xtool... with continuous improvements in hw and (local) sw. Hopefully XCS will be released for iPadOS too (as I can control my GF from my iPad, too).
Hi Im interested to buy a machine for tombstone pictures engraving. Which machine will you recommend for my small business. From where I should buy the said machine. Gulfam Production Pakistan
Thanks very much, let me spend some more time with it and throw some production work at it then I’ll be able to answer that better especially comparing it to my 90w RM laser since that’s right at the $5,500 price point.
I did the same thing. I removed the rear access panel and im in the process of cutting and heat molding the acrylic to fit where the original panel goes. That way i can keep an eye on the reservoir and all other components back there without having to remove the rear panel. I'll also be hinging the acrylic so it can just be flipped up.
I love these little baby mirrors and lenses, I've been running Mazak 2k watts and a Trumpf 5k watts lasers for just over 30 years, these hobby toy laser are fantastic to see.
Ain’t they cute ☺️ wow you’ve got some serious power 2k watts and 5k watts! I am curious are those lasers Co2, diode, or fiber based or do they produce their light energy with some other method?
wow..i really like how you showed everything step by step (even filling to coolant). I really want this now! I have their diode laser & I like that, but this new enclosed one looks like it's really stepped up. TFS
It’s all brand new tech, Xtool is in talks with Lightburn Developers to get the functionality over there, it will just take time. In the meantime Xtool Creative Space is actually really good.
Thanks for the detailed video and demo of the machine! Is there a way to change out the bed to a honeycomb pattern? Also did you have to buy a separate air assist and hook it up to the P2?
You could always add a secondary honeycomb bed if you prefer that style. The P2 has a built in air assist pump which is actually quite powerful and you can set it in the software to have low Psi when engraving and high Psi when cutting it’s really convenient.
I'm new to this world and debating between the xTool P2 and your RM 960 Laser mainly b/c of your great content and well thought out explanations. I know the xTool P2 has a preorder deal right now so with that in mind, what would you pull the trigger on today if you had to? I don't want to spend too much time re-inventing the wheel when I can learn from others who have already been there and start further along based on lessons already learned and passed on. Thanks for your great content!
Man you are putting me in a tough scenario here. There are lots of factors to consider still but to simplify it I would say. If you want high speed and big production capabilities go with RM laser If you want the newest technology and ease of use go with the P2
@@ChadsCustomCreationshow much faster are we talking? What about repairability? A heads up shootout is definitely wanted as these 2 are almost the same price.😊 55w vs 100w how often would you wish you had more power or can 55w do most things? Thickness is equivalent it seems
Thank you so much for your kind reply...na if the fumes are pushed from the pipe outside through an apartment window why would it be a problem? Maybe you mean a problem for me in the room because both the air assist and the internal ventilation system of the machine are not sufficient to completely expel the fumes from the room leaving residues? Thanks again for the support
The built in air assist and fan is pretty good if you don’t have a lot of bends in the pipe it may do okay. You can add an inline fan to make it even stronger. Well I guess it depends on the neighbors but if engraving or cutting wood the pipe going out the window is bellowing smoke and smell and might upset the neighbors if they are too close.
@Chads Custom Creations laserbox co2 I ended up giving up on it and picked up an aeon and omtech. I had it sent to xtool for service and received it back but I do not have the desire to deal with i spent 6 months trying to get it to cut through 1/8 plywood
Can this laser cutter be safely kept/used inside the house, or is it better to have it function in a garage? What are the ventilation requirements for the machine?
I know a lot of people who use machines like these indoors, just make sure the ventilation is running well and you should be okay. It has a built in ventilation fan that is more powerful then I have ever seen on a machine in this size.
I noticed you were cutting at 100% power, is the power supply adjusted so 100% is really max safe amps? Do you know what amps you were drawing vs what the tube is rated for? Great video, thanks!
You know I am not sure on that. I have not seen any comment on that from xtool but their reputation is pretty good never giving false output ratings and such, and I hope they wouldn’t do the same as my “60w” ebay laser that actually only had a 50w tube and was being over powered at 100% power.
I'm sure as usual I'll end up throwing mods on it, as I sorta feel that small vent-fan in the rear might "work" but how..good? I'm a hobbiest that just creates/builds for my own use. Never really got into profiting off tools, usually more a "Sure I can do that for you" for free type cuz its fun. At most I had someone pay me a meal-run to fiber laser clean rust off a tool. But other than that, I just dont desire/care to make profits. That said, I Think I've seen enough videos on the P2 to upgrade my X-Tool 40W Optical 445nm laser into a CO2 P2, and ditch the 445nm finally. CO2 will pair nicely with the fiber laser. Natural materials on one. Metallics on the other. Thanks for the review! Got a laser to buy..
Chad, I’ve just read one of your comments about the fans blowing out the smoke into the room. I am extremely concerned by this, is this true? How bad is it? Could you do a video on this please? I currently have a 40watt d1pro which I’ve put inside a cabinet I’ve built, and it emits no smoke whatsoever. I use MDF a lot so the smoke inhalation is something I am very concerned about.
I believe some with longer runs or bends on their venting tubes are not getting enough suction from the built in fan. For anyone with this issue they are adding a much more powerful inline fan on the tube which is fixing that issue.
I would love for them to release their as open source. This has been bringing a lot of good in the 3D printing space, I'm sure they could also benefit from it. (They are not a software seller, they sell hardware, so it would not harm their business.)
That would be nice, but as a business owner I also understand why they wouldn’t as I am sure they have had to put lots of revenue into the development of it.
@@ChadsCustomCreations *You underestimate the power of opening your software to outside sources when you specialize in the hardware area, for example when Apple first released the iPhone they couldn't sell it for the life of them until they opened it up to outside Apps programmers then it took off like a rocket because the outside programmers were actually making apps people wanted and needed!* *If xTool opened up their software to outside programmers, that thing will blow through the roof because of what other programmers could make that thing do.* *Not to mention it would exponentially increase their community support.*
OK, that camera and batch deal is a game changer. Chad, question, do you think if you are going to upgrade from a 20w to a 40w diode, would it be better $$ and time wise, to get a CO2 instead.
Right? Those features feel so futuristic I love them. That is a tough question I would say if you have the space for the Co2, and are not scared of aligning those mirrors I would go with saving the money and putting it towards the Co2, you get clear acrylic cutting engraving and glass engraving with no prep with the Co2 wavelength, but everyone’s needs and situations are definitely different.
Hotel coasters were made from 3/4” red oak plywood. I can’t remember the settings but xtool has a great setting list on their site or I believe xtool creative space is now including recommendations for power and speed.
I have a question: so I live in Colorado. I planning to put the machine in my garage. But, in winter it gets extremely cold. What’s is the coldest temperature the P2 can handle without damaging the laser ?
I am not sure specifically what Xtool says but I believe you want to keep water temps between 15-25c for running. But Xtool does send an antifreeze that you add to the machine water to keep the water from freezing which can potentially crack that glass laser tube.
I want to know more about using xTool P2 on glass, specific glass bottles in deferent shapes. Do glass bottles need to be empty? What do you think xTool P2 will perform with that material and shape?. BTW i also new to the laser work.
I see that the auto feeder adds 118” in length and it appears to be feeding into the 26” width side. However when I asked them the total length/width of working area they said 118x12”. That doesn’t make sense. Can you clarify it?
Excellent review. The only problem is you made me want it even more. My favorite part is the truth about FedEx. My home is on a gravel driveway nowhere near the road. I have a huge turnaround for everybody to turn around. FedEx continues to throw packages in the ditch they're the only ones. I know they're scared to drive down the driveway thinking they have to back out but this is ridiculous. Any chance for them to lose businesses awesome. Thank you
Haha sorry about that it’s definitely the most exciting laser at this point. Goodness that’s so frustrating, I think businesses should really give the buyer the option for who is delivering since most circumstances are different depending on the driver. I don’t know if it was my video but Xtool did make an announcement that they have discontinued using FedEx and have switched to UPS.
I guess I always thought sponsored meant I was paid to make the video, though I get what you’re saying as free product is kind of the same thing. I’ll do better next time thanks for the feedback.
@@ChadsCustomCreationsdo you agree to anything when you accept the free machine from Xtool? I’d really like an unvarnished opinion from someone that doesn’t have an agreement with the brand. If the machine sucked would you say that? I know it doesn’t but would you?
I will say that XTool does appear to be a pretty honest laser brand. They are right about that. So many of the cheap chinese laser companies straight up lie and use tricks. Like calling a 10W diode laser a 130W laser. I haven't seen anything from Xtool that appears to be deceptive.
Thank you for this video. If I understand it right you are using more other lasers as well. I’m interested if the x2 is a laser that would be good for production?
I would say small scale production it would be great, though majority of the business work I do is with my RM laser you can see a video on that and I’ll be releasing a video on a smaller more affordable laser by RM laser here pretty soon as-well. P2 in my opinion has all the coolest new tech it’s rugged but the bed size can be a little limited.
So what would you recommend between this and an RMlaser? I have an old eBay 60w laser that I'd like to upgrade, it's slow and definitely doesn't seem like a true 60w. I primarily make leather patches for hats, but I do a little of everything. Shop size is not an issue, and the RMlaser I'm looking at is similar in price.
I say go with your gut but at the moment I’d say P2 for someone who wants the latest hottest tech, or RM laser for someone looking for long term durability in a manufacturing business scenario.
Hi, congratulations for the video, would it be possible to run a business with the P2 in an apartment or would it be a problem with the neighbors due to noise and fume management? Thank you very much for the sincere response
I think it is possible the noise it nothing but the gas fumes could be a problem. Though I have known of some people using the indoor filter system not sure how often that has to be cleaned but if you catch all the fumes in that maybe it would be feasible.
Thank you so much for your kind response...but if the fumes are being pushed from the pipe outside through a window why would that be a problem? Maybe you mean a problem for me in the room because the air assist is not enough and the internal ventilation system of the machine are not enough to completely expel the smoke from the room leaving residue? Thanks again for the support
@@ChadsCustomCreations good review btw; I am still thinking thunder for my polar upgrade, but i keep going back an forth, probably will wait until they hit rev2. Did you try calibrating camera in lightburn? Think i've bought at least 10 cameras trying to get it perfect on polar. For the wood test; may want to measure moisture in wood and reduce. Toast / warm it a bit first and dry it out; make sure shop or wood storage humidity is low.
While I'd love to have a red dot for framing, I don't think it's that much of an issue not having one for alignment. Sure it would make things easier, but it's not something you have to do every week, do you? And even for framing it doesn't seem to be necessary since you seem to be able to get really accurate positioning with the secondary camera. What do you think about slats vs honeycomb?
Yeah you are right with how good the cameras are red dot is definitely not needed, but would be as easy as a software update if they did want to add it since they already have one mounted for height detection. The red dot accessory I was referring to is actually for adjusting the mirrors in real time from the nozzle to the tube, just makes things way easier I am just afraid newbies are going to get really frustrated with that initial set up and get discouraged. I like the slats all my big machines have them and I use them most of the time especially when cutting as it has less chance of flashback causing burning in the backside of your materials.
@@ChadsCustomCreations I have thought about the height detection dot for framing, but this would not work because it is mounted at an angle, isn't it? I'm pretty sure they determine the height by how far it moves and can triangulate the distance from there. I'll be a newbie when I get the machine, so we'll see if I can handle the mirror adjustment ;-)
@@ulaB you’ll get it I can tell you’re smart so the mirrors will make sense for you no problem. It actually has two red dot pointers one up in the top right corner at an angle but also has one mounted under the head unit that moves around. So with a simple offset and software update that could be used for framing like they do on the D1 pro models.
@@ChadsCustomCreations Yeah, I've played enough laser/mirror maze games in my time ;-) Even the one under the head unit needs to be at an angle if they use to measure material thickness. If it pointed straight down, it would not show any difference. It is an interesting method to use, because it should not work with clear materials unless they are reflective?
Chad, your review of the D1 10 watt convinced me to pull the trigger on it. My machine paid for itself shortly after a few months. I had no experience with anything laser related prior to it. Now I have a small steady side hustle. My question to you is this, how does the laser vent the smoke? Is there a built-in fan or did you use an inline fan?
Derek that’s so great to hear! Yes I forgot to cover it but it does have a built in fan rated at 145 CFM even when attempting to cut that walnut and maple the smoke was blasting out quickly and efficiently. Based on what I’ve seen with the weak fans the Omtech and Gweike have this fan actually gets the smoke out like it should.
@@ChadsCustomCreations great to hear. The enclosure on the D1 sucks. So now hearing how good this is I'm gunna pull the trigger. Thanks man, and good luck with your lasers this year.
Chad, I am curious about the auto batch process. Instead of randomly placed objects on bed and get engraved. Is it possible, to have the same photo, printed randomly on a piece of plywood. Then laser cuts the outline around the photos? This would solve some of my problems. Thx
In my work flow, I would have someone send me a sheet of plywood. On that plywood, would be the same “photo print” in several places. Then I would use the P2 to cut out the border on all these same photos. XTool P2 promotes engraving with autobatch. But could it recognize the photos and cut the border with autobatch? Still learning on how to ask questions w XTool and get around the AI bot anwers. Any help helps. I appreciate your help Thx

HI, I'm interested in this laser, but I'd need it mostly for rotary engraving metal, like hardened steel, stainless steel, aluminum... Can you please let me know is it up to the task? How deep can it penetrate into steel? Tnx!
Sadly Co2 lasers at this power are essentially ineffective in etching metals. You could check out my video cutting metals with a diode laser or look into fiber lasers if metal is your main goal.
I haven’t yet but yes all the requests we have all made I believe were added to the update. XCS is getting really good I may be ditching Lightburn before too long.
We purchased the P2 about a month ago…you should consider technical support in the review. It has been terrible!! Our machine is still not running. The support is off-shore, and what has taken weeks of back and forth emails could have been handled with a 20 min video call. Seems like they may be having some quality issues with their machines.
Hey Molly I know the time difference can be frustrating. If it is a manufacture defect definitely reach out to them and I know they will make it right. If it is technical support like how to use the machine I would say join the Facebook groups as the community there is so helpful and will be much better than trying to getting a 1 on 1 video call with Xtool.
I am having a problem with my P2. The mirror assembly, #2 mirror, I can no longer adjust it as the small headless screws appear to be stuck. They have the feeling of being glued into place. That was nearly 2 weeks ago. Although I am expecting a replacement unit. I have also been informed that they have/are updating the warehouse system and I have to wait. I have told support frankly of my frustration.
I’ve been invited to try out Thunder Lasers but I haven’t tried them yet as I seem them as a bit too pricey compared to RM laser which I have had 3 of their machines and they in my opinion are the best bang for your buck if your looking for an industrial grade machine. You can check out their offerings here us.rmlaser.com/?ref=CHAD I also have them featured in a few of my past videos. If you’re just wanting a machine for yourself with the newest tech and are a beginner I would recommend one of XTool’s machines.
I hear your frustrations, though this is the first time I’ve ever seen a 55w cut 1” of clear acrylic if that’s not high quality parts I don’t know what is.
Hey Chad, Just wondering if there is any plan to share your ownership review of the Xtool P2 and comparing with your RM laser machine. I am sure that Ray is still doing a great job in the customer support and I am keen to know how Xtool support are treating you. I am planning to buy a laser machine and the reliability is my top priority. Thanks.
Same here, though even though the set up is quite tedious once it’s done right hypothetically you’ll be set until the tube would needs replacement which would be 8,000-10,000 tube hours.
Really the only downside I see so far is just the initial setting up of the mirrors and that really could have just been my unit. Most probably won’t have an issue with it, but I am afraid that some will purchase and expect it to just be a plug and play and great really frustrated.
Hi, looking to buy my first laser engraver for a small craft business and initially purchased the m1 but now thinking of returning as I didn't realise how slow it was. What would you advise? Is going straight for a Co2 machine to advanced for a beginner? Thankyou
Hey, no I don’t think a Co2 is too advanced for a beginner if you are a hands on type of person adjusting the focus if even needed and keeping things clean really isn’t a problem. Just know there is a difference between diode vs co2. diodes do get more consistent dark engravings on materials, Co2 lasers are quick though they don’t always get as dark and consistent engravings depending on the materials because they kind of vaporize the material.
From my test Co2 are not effective on any metals but they can essentially powder coat engraving with a product called cermark or brilance marking spray. Xtool does have a machine called the F1 which does metal engraving, and I have cut some steel with my 20w and 40w xtool d1 pro diode laser.
In my experience Co2 lasers cannot cut or etch metal but you can use a metal marking spray to essentially powder coat. Go check out my video cutting metal with a diode laser if your interested in seeing what the 20w and 40w can do to steel.
@@ChadsCustomCreations thank for quick reqply i am looking for laser to cut metal like silver , gold .. so diode laser is way to go ? i am go through your videos to find it now .. thank again ..
@@ArtificialDNA technically you may want to look into fiber lasers for all metals. Though do check out the diode can do a little and they also have what’s called an IR laser which is good for engraving jewelry and such but it is only a 2.5w I believe so probably no cutting.

I’m thinking of buying this laser, would you recommend this or the rmlaser j750? Oh And this is worth a shot are you selling this laser? I know you got like ten laser lol.
I hate telling people which they should buy but I can lead a little with my opinion. Xtool P2 best for the prototype maker wanting to make small runs for themselves and have the newest laser technology with the close view camera, the curve surface engraving/cutting, and conveyor feeder. RM J750 for someone wanting to start up and run a business with a machine built with industrial quality that can handle running 1000s and 1000s of parts with confidence it will keep going.
This was before taxes…. I know it’s bad business practice but I try not to think about taxes until I have to, just make sure you have enough in savings to cover it when it does come up.
I like xtool but do not go cheap. The diode lasers are extremely limited spend the extra for a CO2. There are more brands and better lasers tho it’s going to ultimately come down to budget and what you need it for
I see what you are saying but I will say Co2 vs blue diode laser they both have their own advantages. Co2 are the clear choice for acrylic’s and sheer amount of speed, but diodes do a fabulous job of achieving dark engravings, plus cutting and engravings on metals which Co2 under the 150w strangely cannot touch in my experience. So I wouldn’t say one is better than the other they are just different tools for different jobs.
0 Celsius is just 32 fahrenheit so yes with mine being outside in the garage I did add coolant to my water. I would say if outside in our area make sure your well below 20 Fahrenheit or -6.67 Celsius or lower.

@@neilrisley1321 that or I will try to pull mine out figure out the diameter and focal length and I bet we can find them elsewhere if it comes down to that. For the mirrors they do have that proprietary metal ring around them but that too could also be exchanged with small diameter mirrors.

Im so overwhelmed with the amount of choices. I don't have money to throw away if things don't go as planned and in Europe we don't have as much choice as the US probably does. I always had my eye on Epilog lasers but recently heard that they break down pretty fast (for some within a few months), which was so disappointing but they aren't cheap at all. Not like the 20-40w diode or fiber lasers can do. But you can use Co2 lasers to remove coatings from metal like paint or powder coating. Or you can add costings with sprays like cermark or Brilliance making sprays.

Great effort to show things that many of us were itching to see from someone other than xTool. Thanks for the video!

Hi
Im interested to buy a machine for tombstone pictures engraving. Which machine will you recommend for my small business. From where I should buy the said machine. Gulfam Production Pakistan
I am a little late to the game but I think Xtool has put Glowforge out of business.
Great video my friend. Very well done. loved the tests. how do you think it compares to the larger more expensive co lasers that are 5k-10k
That’s a great mod I’d love to see that!
TFS
Which laser do you have? I havevthe M1.
@@myhoneyshandmade1077 I have the 10watt diode. I like it. But this new one looks awesome. The m1 does vinyl too right?
Thank you for watching it’s an honor to get comments like these.
Nice review. No mention of Lightburn and that the "fancy" functions will not work with it...any comment?
If you want high speed and big production capabilities go with RM laser
If you want the newest technology and ease of use go with the P2
Thank you very much for your kind reply
That's funny! My P2 and all of the accessories are being delivered by UPS later this week... lol Hope they arrive in one piece
Haha I like to think that this video might have helped them with their decision to switch to UPS for shipping the P2 😅

I wish they spent this much time on the previous model. but I enjoy watching my paperweight..
Is yours the makeblock Co2 laser? What’s going on with that one I am not familiar with it’s short comings.
@Chads Custom Creations laserbox co2 I ended up giving up on it and picked up an aeon and omtech. I had it sent to xtool for service and received it back but I do not have the desire to deal with i spent 6 months trying to get it to cut through 1/8 plywood
@@ChadsCustomCreations yes makeblock laserbox
@@radicalrick9587 that is a really great point I think ultimately they should go ahead and do this.
Your video is both informative and also very entertaining to watch. :D
Thank you Karen!
this is the review I have been waiting for. thank you for taking the time, you have found yourself a new subscriber!
So glad to hear it and thank you for following along!
Pretty cool, will it engrave rubber stamps?
Yes you can do rubber stamps
Guessing the riser platform is required for rotary attachment when was not mentioned here?
Yes you are correct my apologies I didn’t even try as I didn’t have the correct cable to
plug mine up at the time.
Nice review. I would like to see more reviews comparing it to regular CO2 lasers.
Thank you Ron, that’s a great idea!
Great video! Chad, could you share your settings for leather for D1 Pro 10W? Also, what material do you use for those hotel coasters?
Hotel coasters were made from 3/4” red oak plywood. I can’t remember the settings but xtool has a great setting list on their site or I believe xtool creative space is now including recommendations for power and speed.
Ordering one next weeeeeeeek! Super excited. The features are amazing.
Awesome congratulations the P2 is such a high tech machine.
Out of all the co2 lasers on tje Market for the home do it yourselfer what in your opinion is the best?? Monoport, xtool, ap laser ect ect??
I’d say Xtool P2 is the pretty clear winner in my opinion at this time.
But Xtool does send an antifreeze that you add to the machine water to keep the water from freezing which can potentially crack that glass laser tube.
love the honest review!
Thank you Pierre, that means a lot coming from you!
I might be weird, but I keep the plastic wrap on everything I can to keep the actual tool from being scuffed up
I don’t think that’s weird, especially if you plan on selling it in the future!
I had my laser for a year before I removed the plastic
I want to know more about using xTool P2 on glass, specific glass bottles in deferent shapes. Do glass bottles need to be empty? What do you think xTool P2 will perform with that material and shape?. BTW i also new to the laser work.
The xTool P2 does great with glass. The bottles don’t have to be emptied to be engraved.
Cant wait to see if you can do a pass through without that attachment.
Me too!
I see that the auto feeder adds 118” in length and it appears to be feeding into the 26” width side. However when I asked them the total length/width of working area they said 118x12”. That doesn’t make sense. Can you clarify it?
They must have gotten their numbers mixed up it should be 23.6”x118” with the auto feed for actual laser processing area
@ thank you!
Can't wait to test out the auto batch feature on the xTool P2 CO2 Laser Machine! 🙌
It’s pretty cool. Sometimes it might be a little off but a quick adjustment and you’re ready to go.
I love when they say the video isn't sponsored, then tell you they got a free machine 😂😂. Great video, keep the great content coming
I guess I always thought sponsored meant I was paid to make the video, though I get what you’re saying as free product is kind of the same thing. I’ll do better next time thanks for the feedback.
@@ChadsCustomCreationsgood response
Lol right, mine set me back 6k
@@ChadsCustomCreationsdo you agree to anything when you accept the free machine from Xtool? I’d really like an unvarnished opinion from someone that doesn’t have an agreement with the brand. If the machine sucked would you say that? I know it doesn’t but would you?
😊😅😂 Disclaimer: This video was not sponsored, but I got given this machine free.... blah blah. What a load of nonsense.
I will say that XTool does appear to be a pretty honest laser brand. They are right about that. So many of the cheap chinese laser companies straight up lie and use tricks. Like calling a 10W diode laser a 130W laser. I haven't seen anything from Xtool that appears to be deceptive.
Yes that’s always been a big deal to me from the beginning, no deceptive marketing practices.
I’m looking for a machine to start a small laser business.. and wondering what’s the right machine
What about replacement parts? The Co2 tube for example
They have the replacement parts all now listed at their website www.xtool.com/search?q=P2%20laser&type=product
Have you used it to make PCBs? Can it cut copper tracks
Wayne I have not personally but I think it would be perfect for this!

@@ChadsCustomCreations Yeah, I've played enough laser/mirror maze games in my time ;-)
Even the one under the head unit needs to be at an angle if they use to measure material thickness. If it pointed straight down, it would not show any difference. It is an interesting method to use, because it should not work with clear materials unless they are reflective?
❤❤
I vented my xtool m1 with an 185cfm fan. Let me know and I can send you the model#
Chad, I am curious about the auto batch process. Instead of randomly placed objects on bed and get engraved. Is it possible, to have the same photo, printed randomly on a piece of plywood. Then laser cuts the outline around the photos? This would solve some of my problems.
Thx
To accomplish that I would recommend the array option. This will copy and paste the design as many times as you want in both rows and columns.
I appreciate your help
Thx

Tnx!
Sadly Co2 lasers at this power are essentially ineffective in etching metals. You could check out my video cutting metals with a diode laser or look into fiber lasers if metal is your main goal.
did you make an updated video by chance? didn't they upgrade XCS since then with the centering as well?

What if I get Thunder nova 35? what do you think about the thunder brand?
I’ve been invited to try out Thunder Lasers but I haven’t tried them yet as I seem them as a bit too pricey compared to RM laser which I have had 3 of their machines and they in my opinion are the best bang for your buck if your looking for an industrial grade machine. You can check out their offerings here us.rmlaser.com/?ref=CHAD I also have them featured in a few of my past videos.
If you’re just wanting a machine for yourself with the newest tech and are a beginner I would recommend one of XTool’s machines.
Xtool is overprice. P2 is about $4K. With $2500 u can get chinese machine 1390 with high end parts
I hear your frustrations, though this is the first time I’ve ever seen a 55w cut 1” of clear acrylic if that’s not high quality parts I don’t know what is.
Hey Chad,
Just wondering if there is any plan to share your ownership review of the Xtool P2 and comparing with your RM laser machine. I am sure that Ray is still doing a great job in the customer support and I am keen to know how Xtool support are treating you.
I am planning to buy a laser machine and the reliability is my top priority. Thanks.
I think this is a great idea
Moisture of wood is a factor. There is a tool to test Moisture and density
Yes you are right! I have a moisture meter, I didn’t know about the density meters I need to get one of those.
Very cool! The batch stuff looks crazy. Super tempting 🤔🤔🤔
It’s pretty cool.
*I'll be getting that machine.*
You’ll love it! I think code Chad10 will get you 10% off let me know if I can answer any questions.
Disappointed with the poor laser alignment, but really impressive with engraving on that grain of rice!
Same here, though even though the set up is quite tedious once it’s done right hypothetically you’ll be set until the tube would needs replacement which would be 8,000-10,000 tube hours.
What would you say are the downsides?
Really the only downside I see so far is just the initial setting up of the mirrors and that really could have just been my unit. Most probably won’t have an issue with it, but I am afraid that some will purchase and expect it to just be a plug and play and great really frustrated.
Great video! I'll have to see how I can get my wife to let me buy another laser.😅

I am definitely impressed, and I am only halfway into still.
How about cutting metals? Gold, silver?
From my test Co2 are not effective on any metals but they can essentially powder coat engraving with a product called cermark or brilance marking spray. Xtool does have a machine called the F1 which does metal engraving, and I have cut some steel with my 20w and 40w xtool d1 pro diode laser.
Was that actual footage of the FedEx delivery??
The one at minute 6 no that was someone else’s ring camera footage. 😂
@@ChadsCustomCreations thank goodness haha
Do you know if I can use the same chuck I was using on my D1 pro 10W?
Yes you can you just need the adapter cable they have it on their website.
Watched after I bought already.
You’re in the clear they were truthful about it 😂
can you show what kind of metal and thickness of it each metal it can cut ?
In my experience Co2 lasers cannot cut or etch metal but you can use a metal marking spray to essentially powder coat. Go check out my video cutting metal with a diode laser if your interested in seeing what the 20w and 40w can do to steel.

I know you too, you’re the Legend. Thank you for watching David! See you in October?
I'll be there!
As well as it cuts acrylics can this cut cardstock as well?
Yes definitely you can set the power down low and run it fast to cut paper.
Does it give out a lot of smoke?
Depends on what material is being used. Though with the venting all the smoke can be pushed out of a window.
Chads the man!!
Thank you sir!!!
@@ChadsCustomCreationsThanks so much for replying to me, You're a Legend! this is a big help!
Great video man. Well done.
Thank you David!
Is that $100k before or after tax?
So I wouldn’t say one is better than the other they are just different tools for different jobs.
how do you get the small hole on this laser? My holes seem bigger.
See if you can turn the pulse percentage down or add two pieces of tape.
hey it looks like youre in GEORGIA as well. did you use coolant? it looks like we dont have to based on temps not getting below 0 here
0 Celsius is just 32 fahrenheit so yes with mine being outside in the garage I did add coolant to my water. I would say if outside in our area make sure your well below 20 Fahrenheit or -6.67 Celsius or lower.
good video, I like to see claims actually replicated. Maybe I don't know what sponsored means. It would seem this video wouldn't be possible without the assistance of Xtool, kinda seems sponsored. That doesn't mean it's bad or not your true feelings, but maybe a little misrepresented.
You make a good point John I assumed sponsored meant I was paid to do this video but I can see how free product could also be considered sponsored, I’ll be sure to not state it like that in future videos thank you for your honest feedback.
@@ChadsCustomCreations I currently have an Xtool D1pro, I don't necessarily have anything negative to say, just that dealing with customer support takes a while particularly if they are shipping you something. I'm really looking forward to upgrading to a CO2 laser and had sworn my next purchase would be an American-based company. I'm not going to lie, the features of this machine sure seem hard to beat. I might find myself with another Xtool, lol. ....damn you Chad
How is this not sponsored? They sent you a free machine...
I always made the connection to sponsored means to be paid directly by the company. I mean not to miss lead anyone that’s why I make everyone aware that I did get it for free. I’ll stop saying not sponsored
Fair enough. I don't have a problem at all that they sent you a machine to review and promo codes to use. As long as you're always upfront about it. We all think we'd be honest, but if a company sent me a $5000+ tool to review I'm certainly going to have a little bias towards them for just giving me a free machine and kickbacks. @@ChadsCustomCreations
Do you have any suggestions on where & what spare lens' to buy please?
At the moment they don’t have them available on their website but I should hope that should change soon. I bet through support they can be purchased. Spare parts seem to come up as listings after some time. They already have parts for the 40w Xtool pro listed.
I thought because you said ordering to have some on hand you may know where to buy from now (best to wait till xTool have them in stock then?)
@@neilrisley1321 that or I will try to pull mine out figure out the diameter and focal length and I bet we can find them elsewhere if it comes down to that. For the mirrors they do have that proprietary metal ring around them but that too could also be exchanged with small diameter mirrors.
probably too soon for anyone to have them, but keep an eye on Geeks At Large, they carry everything laser and are super helpful people! I can message him at 11 at night with a laser question and get an immediate answer.

Betty thanks for watching I appreciate your subscription.
my laser is shooting a bigger diode is this okay?
I would double check and make sure everything is aligned properly. Also checkout the xtool p2 laser FB group so many helpful people on there.
Even the smallest one is crazy expensive. So I'm looking between xTool P2, Omtech, Flux Hexa and Trotec. Every time I think I made my decision I end up hearing something negative about the machine.. so I just don't know.
@@maiamystia Maia I definitely understand where you are coming from there are so many different companies and machines it is extremely overwhelming. I am happy to help as someone who spends a lot of time working with these machines. If you’re not interested is being able to cut clear acrylics then I would push you towards the Diode lasers as they are less expensive than the Co2 lasers, and are better at engraving, and don’t require as much maintenance. Previously my biggest recommendation has been the xTool S1 but I just got my hands on the M1 ultra and with it being a multi tool machine I think it is the best place to start for someone especially with how simple and intuitive the free xTool software is. Here is my review of the M1 Ultra if you’re interested in seeing it in action.

@@ChadsCustomCreations I don't know much about diode machines, as I've only ever heard and learned about co2, but I remember hearing somewhere that co2 are better for wood cutting/engraving as well as for glass engraving/etching... that they're more powerful than the diode ones.
Random question, would anybody happen to know if devices like this one could cut through 26 gauge steel, .027 aluminum or 16oz copper? This would be really awesome for sheetmetal work
I can’t seem to get these Co2 lasers to effect metals at all. Though if you go check out my video using the 40w diode laser the D1 pro by xtool I actually do have great luck cutting steel.
Diodes will cut through .15mm steel at like 35-40W output, but not Al or Cu because they're too thermally conductive
But can it do anything on metal
Not like the 20-40w diode or fiber lasers can do. But you can use Co2 lasers to remove coatings from metal like paint or powder coating. Or you can add costings with sprays like cermark or Brilliance making sprays.
greattttttt video brother!!
Hey thanks so much Charles!
It's not the machine for me, but definitely the Glowforge killer, good riddance of that overhyped thing. Now XTool should make a bigger machine with the same great features.
That’s spot on and they definitely should a large production machine would be sick.
Can a co2 laser cut aluminum sheet?
No sadly Co2 laser wavelengths are not effective on metals.
Im also looking at one.
Xtool is definitely a great choice in my opinion.
Can it engrave bronze?
No the co2 wavelengths cannot, you could use a metal marking spray like cermark. Or xtool has a IR laser head for the D1 or the F1 can engrave bronze.
좋은 정보 감사합니다 !!!
Glad you enjoyed it.
Want... Thx for review.
You’re welcome thanks for watching.
Great video
Thank you Axel!
