People living in a very SAFE SAFE SAFE world, watched over by machines of loving grace.
Don't look now, but THAT THAT THAT is what they are selling you.
Also, it's the only ad in the video ACTUALLY using ethos, pathos and logos to make its argument.
All logos examples in the video are just crap quickly piled higher in order to overwhelm informationally while one is being bombarded with emotional cues.
I.e. It's just pathos and a whole lot of informational noise standing in for the authority of the ethos.
There is no logical argument anywhere to be found.
But the Volvo ad leads you right to the logical conclusion (SAFE SAFE SAFE SAFE VERY SAFE CAR), lets you come to it on your own - and then rewards you by telling you that you're a smart person with a good plan.
You're sold.
You don't even have to buy the car.
You'll tell everyone how good it is.
They've convinced you.
Or conned you.
Same thing to Volvo.
Still, it beats a bum reading stuff off of a phone or a sad appeal for laughs or a pile of meaningless techno jargon and quick shots of stuff.

Ethos is when an author uses his opinion to persuade the audience he is speaking to. Ethos is about establishing your authority (where you stand) to speak on a certain subject basically. Hope that makes sense!
