Great video, and well put together. Thank you!
I appreciate your feedback and I am glad you enjoyed the video!
Shirley here. Your just in oakland county. Try looking at homes in washington township. Lot of gated homes mansions. Clawson is tiny homes. No crime or break in no money thats why.

Well done: good information and succinct. My wife and I may be in the market in the coming months (side note: not sure why some people are going out of their way to comment to say that they wouldn't rely on your video....
I really appreciate your feedback. I do believe that everyone is entitled to their own opinion and I agree with what you are saying. I would love to help you and your wife in the coming months, so please feel free to reach out to me as my contact information is in the description, and I would love to hear more about the Home you were looking for!
Clawson. My hometown. How different it is now from when my family moved there in 1963. There was still a red barn on Main Street.
I'm sorry but you had Bloomfield Hills way off. That is some very expensive real estate.. I believe that you are using some crap info from Zillow or similar that lumps in Bloomfield Township(s) etc. I looked . You are wrong. Same with the average of Birmingham, West of Woodward/Adams is much more. I know this and live a thousand miles away. You are looking at gross averages which is not going to instill my confidence to look at a realtor.
You’re absolutely correct, depending on the location in each suburb/city, the prices will vary. There is a range in all cities and these are two of the more expensive cities to live in as far as home prices are concerned. The numbers given in this video are the average of the entire suburb, not just a specific location within the city itself. This data is directly from our MLS data and analytics. Again, this is an average for the ENTIRE city/suburb, not a break down of each neighborhood
All these cities are generally around Woodward avenue. You forgot to put St Clair shores Harrison township or grosse pointe where you have lake St. clair boating and fishing. Schools are also good.
How can Beverly Hills be 30 minutes from the airport but Royal Oak is 40 minutes. There literally right next to each other.
I think Grosse Pointe should have been on the list.
I agree with you! Grosse Pointe is a great location and so many people love living in all Grosse Pointe locations
@@Livinginmetrodetroit313 That's fine if you can afford it.
Take a look at Troy. Parts belong to the Troy School District which is very good, and parts belong to the Birmingham
School district. Troy is a clean, upcoming, multicultural city.
This is a selling job period. Northville, if you move (love lived here 25 years)here be prepared to build, or you might find a place for under a million. Even the poor in this town drive Cadillacs. (Me) And Northville is off the beaten path so to speak. Hard to drive straight to here. Like I said this is a sell job that's all. As for employment in the area. It's tight.
Northville is absolutely on the more expensive side when it comes to home prices. So many people who live there or who once lived in Northville love the city and the downtown area
It is obvious you love Oakland County.
This is misleading on school districts. Both Beverly Hills and Franklin do not have their own district. They both are part of the Birmingham school district. In fact one of Birmingham's two high schools is located in Beverly Hills as well as one of the middle schools and several elementary schools.
Sorry, lived in Michigan all my life and have lived in some of these areas. I would never move back to any of them. It seems the further north I move the happier I get.
To sum it up. If you like crowded and congested areas with streets lined with strip malls that are not out of reach of Detroit’s crime most of these are perfect.
Except when most of the crime occurs in Bloomfield Hills and Birmingham.
@@keithhyttinen8275 Don’t spend a lot of time around there except for work and assumed they have aggressive police unless you’re being sarcastic
Looks like a section of Oakland county gets all the glory here .
These are the top ranked cities in Metro Detroit according to Niche.com and not just my opinion. These cities are consistently ranked among the top in the area. Of course there are more great cities in metro Detroit as well but these are the top according to studies on Niche
Why didn't any of the Grosse Points make the list?
This video is based off of ranking throughout Metro Detroit, and not just subject to my opinion. Grosse pointe is a fantastic location and I will be doing videos on Grosse Pointe soon
I'll move to the Detroit area the week after never! 88's
How could you miss the low cost alternative of River Rouge?
You are absolutely right about River Rouge being low cost! Stay tuned for a video on the least expensive suburbs throughout Metro Detroit!
@@Livinginmetrodetroit313 The River Rouge area is cheap because of the environmental toxic conditions that remain from when the area was the hub of metal forges and associated automobile manufacturing. There is also the crime index to consider. I have done the research.
Taylor is the crown jewel of metro Detroit.
I agree, many people love Taylor. Is that where you are currently located?
Bahaha
These cities are to close to Detroit. Berkley is not that nice.
I appreciate your feedback. As of right now, Berkley is one of the most sought after cities that surround Detroit, as it is far enough out of the city, but close enough should you have a commute into the city
Your just picking oakland County, u sound like you have your own areas I wouldn't listen to you where to live. These cities are to close to De trout.
He's ignoring other places that are safe, and generally more affordable than most neighborhoods in the Oakland County cities listed here, but still close enough to Detroit that you can drive there for events without a problem. Canton, Livonia, most of Westland, most of Dearborn, and certain areas of Redford, Dearborn Heights, Garden City, etc. Plymouth and Northville are more expensive in Wayne County, but there are some more affordable pockets.
Right, Livonia should have been right next to Plymouth. Being one of the larger suburbs, Livonia school district is up there with the other A’s mentioned along with more of a country atmosphere and wide ranging, affordable nice housing. Low crime rate.
@@WndD_74 -- If what I read about this realtor online is correct, he grew up in West Bloomfield. And although I try not to make superficial assumptions, sometimes kids who grow up in wealthy neighborhoods get told that it's not acceptable to live anyplace but other wealthy neighborhoods. So perhaps that's why he didn't mention so many great places to live in Wayne County - ie perhaps many of his clientele are too classist to consider living there.
Speaking of Livonia, not only do they have an excellent school system, there are pockets of Livonia with expensive mini mansions very similar to some areas of West Bloomfield, but priced a little bit lower per square foot. And there are areas of West Bloomfield with some really cheaply made houses that go for a high price but seem flimsy compared to some older solidly built homes in a place like Livonia.
I am by no means saying that the cities included in this video are the only areas that good places to live in Metro Detroit Henry these are the top cities according to ranking, and not just my personal opinion. Absolutely right that there are other great cities around Metro Detroit, and I will be doing videos on most, if not all of them
@@TakenTook thank you for your feedback. I actually grew up in Waterford and then move to West Bloomfield and then moved to Farmington Hills and I currently live in commerce. This video is based off of ranking throughout Metro Detroit, and not just subject to my opinion
