      Just found your channel recently and have been going though some of the tutorials. I to have epilepsy had my first seizure wen I was 26 to this day no explanation for it. I'm grateful that I'm on only on one medication to control them. It's one of the first medications ever used for epilepsy over 100 years old. I just passed my 19th anniversary of being seizure free. I work and am able to drive I also keep close watch on my medication level yearly so for some reason it goes down I know to in form both my doctor and my pharmacist as to why its down.

    Just finished an amigurumi horse (stuffed head and hooves, flat body for the rest). The finishing - crocheting eyes and sewing parts together - stopped me working on this critter for about 7 months! The joy of how it looks once I finished it thrills me! I almost don’t want to give it away! But my friend’s great grandson is now 7 months old and I think he will like it.
    Your son sounds like an amazing person. Thanks for sharing with us your obvious love for him.
    Blessings!

    I understand exactly where you are coming from and your pride for your son, my daughter has cerebral palsy, dyslexia and anxiety (caused by the cerebral palsy) but she has over come every obstacle that got in her way. She lived away from home at college and is now at University. I think children with difficulties cope with the crap of life better, because they have to work so much harder and when they set their mind to do something they will do it ! God help anyone who tells them they can't. Love & Light to you and yours -Donna (UK)

    Hi Elise, I have been binge watching your videos. Gosh it’s 5am I need to get to bed lol ya think. I saw the video about Jackson’s insertion of his pacemaker. What a nice kid he is. I hope placement of the pacemaker is now slowing down or eliminating those seizures🙏🏻. On my niece’s 3rd b’day she started having seizures. My sister & brother in law took her to the hospital did a ton of testing and placed her on meds. She was home about a week later but seizures got so much worse. After some time they were one after the other. The hospital gave her something like a Valium but all she did was sleep. My sister was so upset and transferred her to a children’s hospital an hour away. The Dr was brilliant. He gave her several meds that stopped her seizures. Today she is married and had her 1st baby last year. She was weaned off all meds when she went into puberty and has never had another seizure. The Dr at the Children’s Hospital took a family history because my mother’s cousin had seizures all her life. He figured that it runs in the family but skips a generation. I know your son’s situation is very different. I just wanted to share. Glad Jackson is doing so good and making something of his life. He is a strong loving man; but he comes from a loving and supportive family. Ok The End it’s 5:20 AM I don’t want to sleep the day away lol. Hugs❤ gayle

    I have a 19 year old daughter and we have the deepest most meaningful conversations while driving. Sometimes I think it's easier for some people to really open up when "eye contact" isnt really an issue. I just discovered you tonite. It's been such a pleasure to get helpful tips on amugirumi from you (getting ready to start my first) AND to listen to your real life joys and trials. The stories make you seem real! How refreshing! Especially! when you shared the challenges that come at you from well intentioned people in raising your son. Thats MY story! My husband and I adopted my biological neice who has some learning disability. She's grown now, has her own job that I take her to and pick her up from. Being her parent has been a pure joy. I could not have asked for a sweeter child. And i've raised 3 others. The biggest challenge that i was up against allll those years and even now is people telling her, things that she should do or get. It's like they just cant accept that she's quite happy. And its obvious (hearing their ideas) that they wont be affected at all by the consequences. I just wish they would stop trying to fix what isnt broke. Be happy that she loves her job, loves her family and friends and she's happy. I wonder how they would feel if i got all up in their business telling them what they ought to do. lol. I thot I was the lone ranger. Didnt mean to go long. Thanks for the video. Looking forward to getting started on my amugirumi!

    I also love audiobooks which help me relax to sleep. If you still want a recommendation, have you tried Erik Larson's books? I started with his book "Erik's Storm" and I'm now on my third of his, getting ready to begin the fourth. Excellent writer and NO profanity! (Bad language is one of my pet peeves). But most importantly, I'll be continuing to keep Pickle's full recovery in my thoughts and prayers!! 👍 correction: "Isaac's Storm"!! The brain cells are getting old.

    As a cute asian girl (I'm in my thirty's, but still cute. I mean a girl 😜) I must say, it's so nice to see a cute, not asian, girl so excited about and so talented in amigurumi. And a southern one to boot! I always loved accents when I was younger, and now that I live in the accent-less Pacific Northwest, it's nice to stumble across channels that have both something I'm interested in and a super cute accent.

    Thank you! I promised my granddaughter a specific amigurumi voodoo bunny, and now am cramming videos and blog tips. My first two rounds ended with yarn barf from the center pull skein, so I spent a lot of time very gently getting the yarn sorted. I guess I will be sure the other three colors have a good start before I keep going. I watched your Part 1 about mistakes, and both were great. I don't know if you still check comments after so long, but I wondered if you do the embroidery before you stuff body parts or after all pieces are sewn together. I subscribed and will be watching more of your videos!

    • @EliseRoseCrochet
      @EliseRoseCrochet  3 роки тому

      Awww! You have a very lucky little granddaughter! I typically do the embroidery once the head is sewn and stuffed. If I need to use safety eyes, I add those before I stuff (unless I forget and have to unstuff the head, lol). Hope that helps and good luck with your voodoo bunny!! 🐰

    What a pleasure it was to find you 😊
    Your son sounds amazing......these are our heroes x I'm proud of him and don't even know him 😀
    Is medicinal marijuana a tool you can use for him? Every circumstance is different and I have no doubt you have looked into everything you can.
    My hubby has cardiomyopathy and a pacemaker/defibrillator and also takes many, many.....many pills 🙁. I understand the tired bit and just have to commend your son for just getting on with his life.
    As an Aussie can I recommend another author to you?
    Jane Harper - The Dry, The Survivors, Force of Nature are some good ones.....audio books as well (cause you know the narrator can make all the difference)
    I love Little Cotton Rabbit patterns....so well written. In case in your travels you have not seen this pattern writer, Pat Alinejad is also excellent.
    Finally, thank you for sharing your tips. They reinforce what I might be doing right, and tweak the little things I can improve on.
    Unfortunately, I am a multi project crafter....just can't seem to change and find for me, it allows me to finish things without getting bored. 🤣
    Liked and subscribed.....hope your beautiful craft space is restored and pretty again.

    You inspired me to knit my first amigarumi and I am almost finished with Romeo bear. I'm just now working on the sweater and I CAN'T get the sleeves!! How do you knit the sleeves onto the sweater, there is NO way to turn the "corner" it just all gets too tight and stuck. (I ended up casting on 32 stitches and will sew it after.) Can you do a video on this? BTW I was so happy you mentioned Llane Moriarty--she's my new favorite author. I finished 9 Perfect Strangers and cant wait to read Big Little Lies next! for a fun read I recommend The Rosy Project--it's just a cute story. Also, The Unlikely Pilgrimage of Harold Fry was another great story.

    I had a friend who asked me to knit two dragons for him, he wanted an ice-blue and white dragon and a pine green and white dragon. 😂 I managed to talk him out of the pine green because it would look rather Christmassy, we went for a light neonish green instead 😊

    I have the same issue using cotton yarns the thick tuff cotton yarns. I made a beautiful backpack purse it caused me so much pain I'm not sure if I want to remake it lol , I used the peaches and creme kind the giant cone from Walmart. I thought well what if I used a different kind of yarn 🧶 for it but the thickness seems perfect for it really IDK what to do honestly. If I do a tutorial and crochet other projects throughout the day my elbows and upper arms will get arthritis in em badly, I think I crochet too much lol 😊 IDK maybe you know a yarn that is beautiful enough and durable enough for a backpack 🎒 but not as tough as the peaches and creme,if you can think of one let me know. Thanks Elise.

    Just started the pig from Pica Pau, the first book. On his nose, it is worked in a foundation chain and joined at the end. Mine doesn't look the little nose on the pig. Can you advise please? I usually make them in the round. Great tips. Thank you from Tennessee

    Thank you for your videos, I’ve just discovered them today. I am new to crocheting and I have (ambitiously) started with an amigurumi as my first project. Unfortunately whilst making the head of my project it’s turned out sausage shaped/tubular, is this because I’m holding my wool/yarn too tightly?

    • @EliseRoseCrochet
      @EliseRoseCrochet  4 роки тому +1

      That's awesome! It definitely could be the issue. Just remember your first few projects will be all about learning techniques and don't worry too much about the outcome. Also check out my Amigurumi 101 series! 💗

    Hi! Sorry about your craft room :( I LOVE everything you make!!! My mom bought the “Knitted Animal Friends,” too! We both love these animals and YOU! I just want to know.... my mom ordered and received the Cascade 220 that you mention for their bodies (she’s knitting the adorable owl), and Cascade Heritage for clothing. But in my notes lol, I had written down those Cascade yarns as well as Barrocco Vintage Yarn for their bodies and Debbie Bliss Baby Cashmere for their clothes. I’m wondering which yarn to use. Do you use a combination of these yarns? What are your current favorites? What are you using now? There is not a knit shop near me. Thank you! ~Jennifer

    • @EliseRoseCrochet
      @EliseRoseCrochet  3 роки тому

      Hello! Thank you so very much! Thankfully the craft room is all fixed now! For the Knitted Animal Friends I only use the Cascade 220 for the bodies and the Heritage for the clothing. For the Berroco Vintage I knit the Little Cotton Rabbits bodies with it. And the Debbie Bliss I use for their clothing. I also use the Berroco Vintage for almost all of the toys I crochet. I hope that helps, but don't hesitate to ask me to clarify if something doesn't make sense! 😊

    Whilst I enjoy and understand your yarn promotions, It's not for me. I have never bought a new ball of yarn because I simply cannot afford them. Because I am quite new at crotchet/amigurumi I am learning with charity shop yarns. Believe me when I say that cotton yarns never crop up, why, I don't know. When I am confident that I can do it well I will buy yarn for a particular project. Till then it's odd's and sod's. (UK phrase) . If anyone has any spare yarns I would be so grateful but I live in Melbourne Australia, so thats unlikely. I'm in my 80's so I keep going on. Hi! to everyone.
