The task is to pull the sword from the stone, but the winner is chosen based on "Who releases it the fastest" I would have just grabbed the sword but immediately let go. I may not have done the task, but I definitely released it the fastest.
I’ve seen this a dozen times and just now figured out that “make their hair smart” means make it look nice, not make it intelligent, so you would use a comb. I think it’s a clue!
I know they're all British, so the odds were low, but I was severely disappointed that nobody held aloft the magic sword and said, "By the power of Grayskull!" once they drew it.
You're lucky, we don't get them in Australia. The only bits I get to see are whatever little nuggets Task Master puts here on YT, plus some _wonderful_ person uploaded the whole of Series 15, except for the last episode. Sigh.
My initial thought was to turn the stone over and see if I could release the pin that held the sword. Too bad no one tried it. I wanted to see if it would have worked.
The pin was probably disengaged electrically using a solenoid. Put a strong magnet in the right place, and you can move the slug without engaging the electromagnet. It's a common flaw with electronic door locks and safes.
@@iliketrains3495 I thought it was a pun on "with a comb," since I think that in the UK "smart" means "well dressed" or "well groomed," but "witty comb" makes more sense, since it's playing on both meanings of "smart."

My first thought was quite literally how quick people let go after starting to pull on "the sword from the stone" and everything else was a red hering but no one stops them from attemtping over and over again with the twist being that normally you would pull harder and longer while letting go as quick as you can after a small pull was the right answer
I get why they chose Josh because of the 'lore' of the show, but wouldn't it have made more sense to use Morgana if they were going for the King Arthur legend? I was convinced that was the answer when I first saw this. The Enchantress! Morgana le Fey!
