My fave is Hard Luck. Not because it wraps up the plot of The Third Wheel, but because i just think it's really entertaining and well written. The Easter plot is actually really funny, and I really like the stuff with the magic 8 ball. And Greg finding his moms closet was pure genius. Also, I feel like Double Down is like the most forgotten Wimpy Kid book. Like I own all of them and still forget it exists! It feels more like a book 12 than book 11. Idk why it just does.
I guess because it has the word "double" in it, the title is priming you to believe that it ought to be associated with a number that has a 2 in it like 12 does.
@@TDScommanderr Yeah I was gonna add that to the video in place of hard luck but I didn't think a majority of the audience would know/care for it. However, I might save that idea for something else (Assuming your talking about why it isn't mentioned in the video).
Meltdown is my favorite. THE SNOWBALL FIGHT IS PURE EPIC. The bit leading up to the fight so when frank tells rowley and Greg about medieval combat and how Greg added OIL to the shopping list was pure comedy gold for me, a history fan.
All the Wimpy kid books are my favorites, but I'll go with Rodrick Rules. Not because I like Rodrick (In fact, my favorite character is Greg himself), but because I like some wholesome moments about siblings. Especially these two
Hella loved the snowball fight in meltdown. I preferred if it stayed with two sides but it kinda all built and added up to all the sudden new people. Old school was amazing
I grew up with the FunBrain version way back in Summer ‘05 so to me the “Golden Age” ended with “The Last Straw”. I still remember how there were only 3 published books planned, then 5 (with the fourth being about his Summer Vacation and the fifth being about his final year in Junior High), then they switched the plot of the fifth from being about his last year in Middle School to “Greg and Rowley… Will they stay friends?” (Which in my opinion should have been a heck NO considering how much of a bad friend Greg was - random disclaimer LMFAOO), and then they finally decided to make it a never-ending series about a boy trapped in Junior High… What a fucking nightmare!!! It’s amazing to see all these changes in the series and how it’s still going so strong. I’m really glad that Jeff Kinney made it and truly has become one of the most successful children’s authors of all time. Seeing him start on FunBrain in all those little advertisements after you would complete a “Just For Fun” game in the arcade and blow up like this was, honestly, expected because the book was so much fun to read with all its cartoons and what not, but still was so pleasant to see. Congratulations, Jeff. Keep on truckin’ that little Wimpy Kid. ❤️
Getaway was my first, i haven't read most of the books in ages but i remember Hard Luck being horrible because it was just Greg whining about Rowley getting a girlfriend Rodrick Rules is very good however

My mother consistently bought the Wimpy Kid books on a magazine she often read until the 6th Book. I loved all of them and read them much more than 5 times each at least, but this one was absolutely my favorite. After that one, my mother bought others but with much more time between each other. So he's like the end of an era for me. I'm quite amused how the video said exactly what I feel about this book lololol
Meltdown and old school,i really like the Silas scratch plot twist and the meltdown battle was one of the best thing in the whole diary of a wimpy kid series
I have read all the books of diary of a Wimpy kid till the big shot and my favourite's are the old school and the long haul! I can *never* choose between them! The old school plot is just perfect with Greg's parents talking about the old days, Greg going to the trip and the whole Silas scratch story etc! TRULY UNDERRATED! the long haul is just perfect, no flaws in my opinion, the plot is interesting and i never get bored reading it...i love how the simple planned road trip goes wrong in every way possible, the seagull in the car incident! The water park, motel stay etc...i had high hopes from the deep end cause it seemed similar to the long haul but nope! I can't wait for diper overload, the cover is black like the old school and it seems really good! Hopefully it's amazing
Dog Days was a fun change of pace from Greg's middle school misadventures. Cabin Fever is where Jeff Kinney started phoning it in when Manny got off scot free for almost leaving the other family members to freeze to death during the blizzard.
I still remember going to a book festival with my family back in early 2015 to meet Jeff Kinney and Dav Pilkey. I remember Jeff Kinney told us a clue about the tenth book, that it was two words that started with "O" and "S". My dad guessed right, suggesting that it might be called "Old School". So, stupid-brain nine-year-old me said, "Daddy thats stoopid why wood greg go to his old skool". I was not prepared for what happened weeks later. (Side note: I know what the phrase "old school" means now, don't worry, I'm no longer an idiot) EDIT: My favorite book is The Getaway. It's just such a fun book.
FINALLY SOMEONE WHO ALSO LIKES THE GETAWAY!! Literally no one I met or knew liked the book, even a bit. My second favorite is old school, and third is last straw. By the way, I've read Diper Overlöde, and it's a good book, but it's somewhere around 7th-5th favorite.

Very good honestly Rodrick Rules: I had a developed hatred for Rodrick but my likeability for him was better Last Straw: If you look at the cover you'll think "This is basically Rodrick Rules again!" That's what I thought and it pretty much SUCKED Dog Days: They basically mixed it with Last Straw, probably took some from Rodrick Rules and called it a f**king day The Ugly Truth: I was going through puberty when I read this and it didn't help AT ALL! Cabin Fever: Before I read a wimpy kid book I look at the cover and think about what is gonna happen in the book. The part where they were snowed in didn't happen until nearby the end of the book. The Third Wheel: Not bad but pretty much the same reason as Cabin Fever... Hard Luck: Great book brooooo! Long Haul: I hated the events that unfolded in this terrible excuse for a "journal". I mean they literally got attacked by seagulls to experiencing some random Spanish engineers. Old School: the cover reminds me of the good old days in the 90's! Double Down: Read this book a few times till me and my brain agreed that the book SUCKED.. Getaway: No way bruv I never found a journal as good as this... Meltdown: I used to think it's pretty much the same as Cabin Fever but it actually kinda is in my opinion D: Wrecking Ball: I hated it, especially when their house was partly destroyed in the end, I wonder how they paid for it??? Deep End: Didn't read it Big Shot: Now I think this book is very underrated but it's decent I guess
Holy sh*t, I thought third wheel was the last one. My brother had it for whatever reason, and I remember being shocked that the series was still going.
Old School, my favorite, IS seriously underrated. The Silas Scratch plot and twist is so hilarious
Yeah the hard scrabble farms part is so re readable
Its my favourite i adore that book
True that one brings back a lots of characters

Yoooo Old School squad, it's definitely the best in the series
