Thank you for this... I am a teacher and the book can be a bit overwhelming to students who already struggle with literacy. I will use this to help them gain an understanding of what is going on. However, I will still require my students to read the book and keep a dialectical journal of the quotes that spoke to them and connects to the real world with their reasons. Therefore, my students still have to read and think... without having to be completely confused by the story and its history. Aloha!!!
