I purchased a cricut maker about 18 months ago with the intention of creating majority paper, card & chipboard designs for making cards ( my own designs) that I sell. I watched lots of review videos and did my homework on which machine to purchase. As I wanted to cut chipboard & thin ply, I needed the maker. After many months of saving, I finally had my new cricut in my craft room. It took me more time to figure out how to do intricate cutting than it did saving for it! Paper tearing, and jamming, paper getting caught in blade, designs too intricate for it to handle etc etc. mats loosing stickiness, was a real pain too. Trying to cut foilboard was dragging the metallic layer apart from the cardboard. I had purchased extra mats, a deep point blade and a debossing tool. I didn’t know at the time I would need a knife blade until months later when I was ready to ‘make it’ . Machine told me to insert ‘knife blade’. ($80 at the time) Aaaarrrgghhhh! Nope I give up. I guess I’m just not great with the cricut. I’m ready to sell it. I’m sorry to unload here on your video, I’m just in awe of how you got all of your projects to work nicely. You really must have a lot of patience. Did you have trouble at all? Is it just my machine maybe? Or it’s the user lol. Thanks for showing what can be done. ❤️🇦🇺

I use Cricut Design Space - the instructions to download it should come with your machine! I actually have a Mac (I think it’s a 2018 15 inch MacBook Pro) but it should work with almost any device, you can even use your phone/iPad!

@@MeganWeller I have a quick question about Cricuts. How much are they? And which one do you have and how much did it cost? How much did all of your extra supplies cost as well?
So far they’ve held up great! As long as you use permanent vinyl for the cups they should be ok in the dishwasher (I have a cup that I made about 6 or 7 years ago that I use regularly - it still looks good, just make sure the cup is dishwasher safe!) I’ve never had an issue with washing the clothes either, but admittedly they don’t get as much use as the cups do.
I love your videos but can you please tell tips for Drawing or ? You can tell hacks for drawing please Seriously youtube is really made for these types of videos 😍
It honestly depends on what types of crafts you make. If you sew (especially smaller things) then it’s definitely worth it for cutting fabric! And iron on is great for customizing fabric crafts. If you do scrapbooking/paper crafts it’s great for that as well. What kinds of crafts do you make?
I have a idea for your video so as it is a new year so after your holidays you are going to you are back to school/collage but it will be online for some month or little more ( as far I know schools are online in India don't know about us I think it's same so could you make something like a series where you make crafts and drawing related to back to school online school drawing of people doing online class and you could tell some hacks for online school things

They’re definitely worth the investment - and I’m not just saying that because I’m “sponsored” by them! I bought my first Cricut machine (an explore air) back in 2014 or 2015, and it still works great (I gave it to my aunt since I have a “Maker” now)
The stud earing designs might have been easier to instead of punching out, using a craft knife or box cutter to go over the line to free it better. A lot of miniature builds have things that look similar, and a few swipes keeps the wood from splitting.
Well... if your cricut can't go that small with vinyl there is a problem 😅 i own a Silhouette Portrait 3 and I cut vinyl crystals that are 5x3mm with all inside lines intact...
It might have just been a "user error" - although I was trying to cut a shape with lines less than 1 mm wide (the heart lock and the diamond)... I might have to play around with the settings sometime to see if I can make it work. How do you like the Silhouette?
@@MeganWeller could be! I tried sono many times with different materials to find the right settings for each one of them. I really love my Silhouette. The software and the settings are a little bit harder than Cricut's but the result are SO MUCH BETTER. I instantly sold my Cricut after trying the Portrait 🤣
