In the words of Gunny (Hon) Ermey:
"Goodnight Chesty, wherever you are."
Was waiting for this comment. 😊 "Goodnight Chesty , whereever you are!!"
Every night in boot camp!
@@gregdavis19 YUP !!!!!!!!!!!! Brings back memories.
My ex husband was a marine for 8 years. He had a book written by Chesty Pullers' son. A very sad story...
Respectfully.... Is a Marine, Ma'am.

A very sad tale indeed. He committed suicide shortly after I read the book. Still have it somewhere.
My dad was in "The Puller Outfit" on Pelilue.
Goodnight Chesty wherever you are.
The banana wars would be a good subject to do some forgotten history videos! I have a lot of questions about Haiti. Especially now with what’s going on. Looks like we might be going back.
Thank you for the suggestion, We will look into it!
Marines been there many times. A book by max boot named “the savage wars of peace” has a few excellent chapters on that topic
Chesty puller was a good marine and a good marine was he.
I was wondering when you would release this video! Well done! He is now and always will be the "Marine's Marine"!
Rest in Peace Brother
Thanks Colin
Thanks for watching.
Thank you for this, it’s high time a story was well put together and concise.
Thanks for listening
As far as my dad was concerned ( Korean War Marine combat vet) the sun rose and set because Chesty ordered it to.
Outstanding video…Semper Fi to all my Brothers!
Professor Heaton, yer the best…
Thanks very much
Nicely done short!
Thanks for watching.
"The greatest Marine to ever pull on a boot"
Dan Daly has entered the discussion….
Chesty was THE MARINE 😊
Semper Fi Chesty where ever you are!

Welcome Home Marine

Chesty Puller was a Hell of a Man!
Just in time.
Two sides to every story. Then there's the truth. I am a Marine. When I went thru boot camp in 73, we were fed nothing but Chesty Puller! Always remember, there is bravery and military genius, and there is "blind ambition" for glory. You must discern
Hippy!
@@user-uf5nv5cb3b
Aaah, name calling ! A wonderful debate tactic !
@@user-uf5nv5cb3b meaning? I was just north of Saigon, Vietnam 🇻🇳, then south in 74 and 75 for Frequent Wind, then, Phenom Phenn, Cambodia 🇰🇭. Combat action, successful evavuations without supplying the enemy with all of our weapons like biden did in Afghanistan 🇦🇫. Now, sir, all I said was, in essence, is that Chesty Puller had about 50% of the Marines who thought he walked on water, the other 50% thought that he was a glory hound. Either way, he gets respect as a Marine leader and super grunt. Just like any other Marine. If that makes me a hippy, which for sure I am not, so be it
@@mikewright8033 You ain't no hippy brother!
Oorah Chesty!
Excellent short vid 👍😎🇺🇸💕
Chesty grew up near West Point Virginia. His son Lewis B Puller was seriously injured in Vietnam. Lewis B Puller wrote a book and was well known in the middle peninsula. After his death there is a Center for disabled adults in Gloucester named after him and a major highway named after him.
Didn’t his son commit suicide? In part because of his injuries

Hi Colin, I was wondering if you haven’t already could you cover Ronald Reagan and the Fairness Doctrine? It would be appropriate for what we are seeing the mainstream media do today and how important the first amendment is. Thank you to all at Forgotten History for making one of,if not the greatest historic archive channels on social media.

Hey, can you do a video on Pyotr Wrangel Baltic German and Russian/White Army General in WW1 and the Russian Civil War? A good source is his memoir “Always with Honor”.
Yup. Tough guy.
You don’t get to be a great military leader by being nice.
Thanks!
Thank you. We really appreciate the support!

Haiti is an absolute hell hole. When I was there even the Chaplains carried guns.
Thanks.
Welcome!
This commentary appears to be lifted almost verbatim in significant parts from the Wikipedia article on Puller.
The article is taken from several biographies I would imagine, and we took ours from the USMC archive and library
