I find that I loose weight when traveling over all from all the walking I end up doing! Love this video! So hilarious!

For me, the biggest thing is to stay active. Unless I really need a car, I don't rent one. I bus, bike, or walk everywhere.
Also, why not hit the gym while you're on vacation? It's a good place to mingle with the locals. I even work out during long layovers. A day pass and two-way cab fare can be expensive, but instead of just sitting there, you get some exercise and a mini-tour of the city.
If you can't leave the airport, then just stay on your feet. Last time I passed through Houston, I meandered around the airport for two hours. I got to see a school trip headed for Paris, soldiers returning from Kuwait, and some airport employees setting up for their evening prayer.
Finally, if it's just a two-week trip, don't worry about it. So you gain two kilos while you're on vacation, and you work it off when you get home. No big deal. Just remember what the lady told you; don't let it accumulate.

I love that you actually responded to all the comments I saw about this! And love your sense of humor, haha.
My tip is just to limit your grains/dairy wherever you go. 'Limit' can mean a lot of things, from cutting them completely, to only allowing them in one meal a day, or 3 times a week, or only on the weekends. Replace them with lots of whole (non processed) fruits/veggies and proteins, and you'll be all set. Of course, doing this while traveling can be hard, but that's why it's important to plan ahead -- find a local grocery story and/or pack healthy snacks so you're never tempted by hunger to cheat on your plan when you're out and about. For me, that's what works! You can't ever out exercise a bad diet. Believe me, I've tried :)

to some ppl this may seem tacky, but I love traveling with family/family-friends & I will buddy up & split meals. it saves us money & we can try more things by having small treats throughout the day to savor each time. I feel like we make the most of our time and pennies that way too.

I'm a girl, I love candy and waffles, and I never put on or lose weight. Ever. oh, and I crave american food everyday. I traveled to NYC last year hoping to eat everything, but I was so excited to see everything I had planned, and so busy that I wasn't hungry most of the day. I'd eat breakfast (tea and bagel, or tea and a timbit), and not eat anything else until about 3pm. That's not healthy at all, and I usually eat all the time at home, but I just didn't feel hungry. I remember wanting to order a burrito and feeling it was such a waste of money and food because I knew I would eat 2 bites. Anyway, I walked so much and ate so poorly that I actually lost a few pounds by the end of the trip (over a month). My tip is: eat as you would at home, don't stop trying food because you're only there once, and walk as much as you can to even it out :)

I'm going to Miami in October. I definitely plan on taking advantage if some fitness classes. Yoga on the beach seems like a great idea. I pretty much eat however I want and drink plenty of alcohol while on vacation. When I get bk home, it's BACK to healthy. I usually need a detox especially after visiting VEGAS ! Life is about living. So live! Just don't let it accumulate.

Believe it or not, I lost weight on a 2 week Transatlantic cruise once. I had been in Europe for a couple of weeks, eating like a pig, and clothes were indeed getting tight. After a day or two aboard the ship, since you can eat whatever you, as much as you want, I started eating only meat a a little salad. Went off all carbs. Lost weight FAST (probably some of it water), despite pigging out on steaks, chops, chicken, fish, and a little salad. Sometimes it was at one of the buffets, but when I would go to the dining room and order, waitstaff thought I was a little weird for not wanting any bread, potatoes, rice, whatever. Worked, though.

For me, I avoid these things:
    - juice (instead I opt for real fruit/veggies)
    - cereal
    - yogurt (Yoplait etc)
    - health bars (Nutrigrains etc)
    - sodas
The above are foods that we typically have as snacks but many of us aren't aware they are EXTREMELY high in sugar even though some of these look like "healthy" snacks. Read the labels so you can see just how much sugar you are actually putting in your body. Particularly soda. Add it all up and you could have consumed several days worth of the recommended daily sugar intake since most likely you will also be eating dessert on top of the above items.
Instead save eating sugar for actually desserts. (I'm certainly not saying you should stay away from sweets while you are on holiday!) but it's these simple little changes (not diets) that can cut your sugar intake drastically. As sugar gets into your system you start feeling lethargic, and you're tired quicker thus wanting to not be as active as we could be while on vacation.

Lime juice, salt and masking tape!!
    Yummm!!
    Ancient Venezuelan secret!! LoL!
    Yeah!! Chevere!!
I do have a trick- herbal non- caffeinated tea
    Ex:
lemon grass- lemon balm- or a berry tea with lemon- before you head to sleep.
Also- dancing and moving like crazy in your hotel room works up a nice sweat - I like solo dancing salsa and checking out my lady styling moves- before I debut them on the dance floor.
I like to do spa treatments when I travel as well- and use items I normally wouldn't use in my own bath tub or shower such as:
Color bath. Salt bombs, glitter bath disks from LUsH that might stain my bathroom or that I'd otherwise have to extra clean to get off my bathroom floors.
I also do oil beauty treatments on hair and skin and love to use sugar scrubs.💅
Don't get me started on facials.
I find that adding a spa element helps me unwind, relax and stop the cravings for midnight room service.
I do enjoy good wine and a fabulous cocktail a few times a year and when I travel my drinking cravings are at an all time high.
Case in point Well made fresh Rum swizzles from Bermuda! Ahhhh so good!!
Caipirinhas in Brazil! Delicious lemon drops in Chicago, Viuda Alegres in Ecuador... Napa valley cabs!!! Don't get me started!🍸🍹🍷🍻🍺
    Partay!!!
I am more part time vegan/ vegetarian these days so my typical midnight cheese burger and French fries with truffle oil are out for now.🍔🍔🍔🍟
My Lovah/ travel companion is a major foodie/ former chef so it can be challenging- my Lovah is always up for late night room service or pizza and delicious wine in the hotel - in our bathrobes.
    It's sexy until
You wake up the next day bloated and tight in your clothes!
I'm hoping to do more raw vegan food when I travel.
    BTY
How can you eat arepas made with all that awesome masa harina glutton from heaven and stay so thin? My favorites where arepas de queso fresco... With a little cafesito on the side.
    Ahhh the tastebud memories!
Ya should have something ethic and traditional when traveling- the point of travel is experiencing different cultures💃💃💃💃- so splurge on a few things but not on all meals.
P.s I think happiness can keep one thinner-
Also shopping is a good appetite suppressant -

On some summercamps I'm more active than at home!
When I go on cooking camp I have to be careful that I don't eat to much, but I'm also going to Japan for 3 weeks and that won't be a problem! Japanese people eat healthier than most Europeans, and it's with scouting, so we will be very active! And when it's warm, you drink a lot, that's healthy too :)

I like to use the stairs of the hotel im staying in, not when im first arriving or leaving when i have my heavy suitcase and stuff with me, but in the evenings before i got to sleep i will get my running shoes and shorts on and I will run up and down all the stairs, depending on how tall the building is I'll only do this once or twice, but in smaller buildings, about 5 or less storeys including the ground floor, i'll do it 3 maybe 4 times, it's completely free, safe, you don't have a risk of getting lost and you can get back to your room for a shower and then to bed nice and quickly to

Walk everywhere you can if it’s under 30 mins. That is, don’t take public transport if the sight you want to see is within 30 mins walk. I eat whatever I want for my 3 meals a day and don’t snack that’s how I compensate. In the USA always share a meal between two people. Servings are huge there. Don’t drink your calories. I’ve never gained weight on a holiday.
