I come to this area every winter time when i was young. Twenty years ago it's make by wood. Actually this area is belong to Thai military for the soldiers who get injury from Indochina war after recovery from the hospital then they will get a permission to take a rest in this area for two-three months before return to battle field again in Lao, Cambodia, South Vietnam. Before is very restricted to civilian, everyone have to show Thai ID at the check point before enter, but to today is open free for every one.
The highlight of Bang Pu Recreation Center is seagulls. There are various species of seagulls including Heuglin's Gull, Common Black-headed Gull, Mongolian Gull, and Slender-billed Gull. Each year, from October to May over 5,000 seasonal migrating seagulls migrate to stay at Bang Pu Recreation Center from the cold weather countries in Central Asia, like China, Mongolia, Tibet, Kazakhstan and Tajikistan.
Cool videeeeo, amazing the displacement of people when the government calls a holiday in Thailand I think i would rather be in the mangrove bridge and away from those birds as they have amazing pinpoint accuracy with their droppings - that said my first association with mangroves is mosquitos so maybe the pier just edges it Love that GTM manages to get excited about another seemingly dead animal, this could be your next channel - Filming dead animals with Jeroen
Don't forget to stop by the Erawan elephant building on the way there, either by BTS or by car. It's quite remarkable. And then of course there's Ancient City monument park near by and that's well worth a visit.
Bang Pu is very cool. I took a Grab taxi there two years ago. I like that it is out of the way, and very little foreign tourists go there. Muang Boran is also very near there, and that is a very cool place as well. One can spend a whole day at Muang Boran and not see everything.
Wow! Seeing that many seagulls feel so good! I can see how happy people there. Yes, really amazing! Thank you so much for sharing this. Such a great experience! :)
Well they're planning on extending the BTS Line down to Bang Pu actually but that's just in the plans and doesn't actually have any progress yet so let's just hope that it does go through soon
Your video come in randomn today, I realise 1 year ago recorded, bdway, thank you a new place to discover one I heading BKK soon. P/S The fish that walking on the mud called Tobacco Fish 😉
Seagulles are migants from cold zone (China, Mongoria, Siberia) to warm zone (Thailand) from November to April every year. The big building on the bridge is restaurant which many people are ballroom dancing activities every Saturday.
Actually there is a small part of Bangkok that connected to the sea within Bangkok's city limit. You have to go to the west side of the Chao Phraya river. That place called Bang Khun Tian. You will find a lot of good seafood restaurants there.
Another great video GTM. Bang Pu will definitely be on my “to do” list next time. Nice to see Mirella becoming more involved with narrating...you make a good team! 😀
It is a nice place, there is a very rich mangrove forest and a lot of cute but funny silly birds.. hahaa I have been here twice a long time ago but it was much better because there weren't many crowded people back then.

Thank you so much for this video. I am a wildlife photographer and will be visiting Thailand in three weeks. This place was suggested by one of my friend's friend who lives in Thailand. I was wondering how to get from Kheha BTS station to Bang Pu. I am glad that I can get a taxi for about 100 Bhat. I have two questions. Are there taxis waiting at Bang Pu to get back to Kheha BTS? Also for my type of photography, doing some research, the mangrove forest seems to be the ideal place. Is the Mangrove closer to the entrance or close to the seafood restaurant? Hoping to hear some suggestions soon as I am preparing for my travel.
Transport will be no problem. The Pier is not far from the main road and it is easy to catch a taxi or even small bus to the Kheha station. The entrance to the maingrove forrest is next to the entrance of the pier. You will love it :-)
lol, "I got some ice cream, now I am a food blogger," I am ready to subscribe that channel! thank you for showing another interesting place to go. by any chance, do you remember what was the travel time from downtown (I am assuming you got on around asoke area?) to the end of the bts station in bang pu?

Nice place not very far from Ancient City. Is there any beach where swimming is possible ?
I think no but better go to Chonburi province its about 2.3 hrs far from BKK.
The final phrase of BTS at south side is around Bang Pu Recreation Centre.

For me as a follower, thank you so much for showing many new places in BKK in your chanel. It takes too much cost and time to go around by myself. 🙏
You kept your camera on girl fiddling with skirt, i forgot about seagulls until you panned back to the water.
OK, I put Bang Pu on my list now. Living in Bangkok for several years and I have never been there.
Great video. Really good to see some sights not far outside central Bangkok.
Well done. Another entertaining and informative vlog Very cool place and another one to add to the bucket list Thank You

You know more places in & around BKK than the locals 😀. From your vidoes I am making a list of places I am going to visit next time 👍
this is not faraway from BKK.
I was wondering about seagull shit place looks clean , usually very bad when a lot of them about.
They are escape from hard winter in Siberia and after February March they will return back to Siberia.
