hi! i am south-vietnamese, and i was coming to Thailand about 2-3 times, and on the last day of my traveling, i am always take my time to walking around Bangkok and some place like this video. it's like take a train to radom MRT/BTS, and walking around, looking at people, how they live, how they feel, and i am so so so love it. I think i love Thailand more when i come to some place like this video, it's make me feel people is so nice, and make me wanna go back to Thailand again
thanks for the video! i cut my head on one of those tin roofs as i was buying snacks for the kids there and blood poured all over (had to get stitches later). the woman selling snacks took plasters, alcohol and whatever she had and could stop the bleeding. gave her some money but i still feel i owe her so am going back today. Thanks for sharing i was looking for the exact adress 😊 and yes you are right, these people are the most genuineand friendly by far!
I usually holiday in Phuket but Bangkok certainly intrigued me the times i was there and always leaves me wanting more.. l love seeing the old buildings mixed with the new and the markets.. l look forward to seeing more some day ..
Hello, thank you for sharing this video. We don't know this area well. We learned something new about buildings in Bangkok thanks. We didn't know about the rule of 8 flours for some streets. 14:50 the man dancing (Pure happiness)
life near train tracks that's really interesting & i hope people are spending good life there :) wonderful weather & love to see this street view :) appreciated your efforts & thumbs up :)
You're absolutely right Jeroen...there's two sides to the coin everywhere in the world...but the thing with Thailand is... that their "coin" has much higher quality...so the good side of the coin outshines the bad side, thanx to the 💖🌟Amazing Thai people🌟💖.🙏🙏🙏🙏
What difficult to click on subscribe button, I never hesitated to support you and the other youtubers . All you presented and described in this vlog are goodness things.
It is good that you wandered around the thai local ,You cannot do that in Colombia or Brazil in neighborhoods or favellas, because you may be robbed. This is because the people of Thailand are kind and peaceful by nature and have humility. It is a great blessing that you fly among the angels in the heaven with your bike.
Yes, it is slum. Those people just come to live around this area for free without permission. Most of them came from countryside. Some place the owner cannot even kick them out because there are too many of them. Ofcouse other people just let this happen because they are not the owner they feel it's really not nice if you have to kick the poor out from those areas while they have nowhere to go. Only the owner have a problem with these people. Some areas the owner have to donate their land to them and lost more than 500 millions bath(16 millions US dollars) for their land price.
Most slums in other area of Bangkok look better and cleaner than this. May be because these people live in this area mostly are not Thais ... it's looks barely liveable. Actually government provide housing or land (in suburb) for Thai people live in slums on state own land and canals to clear the area. Some till insisted to move BTW and Government need to pay a lot for them to move out. Some of them just selfish people, they got good income and still wanna live in slum in the City Center for free (You notice these people by their assets AirCon, Car, Motocycle).
@@sfalpha you are right. They're very selfish. Even the government built the house for them but they still want to live here because it's very comfortable for them to live in the city for free. Most people do not feel it like the owner until these people come to live in their house.
Thanks for taking us on this walkabout also. It's good to remind ourselves that there are people trying to make it out there in the big city. It's hard to say who these folks are. They could be Thai, Lao, Cambodians or from somewhere else.
Hi thanks for the videos love them and for all the knowledge and information? I’ve been coming Thailand last 20 years at least twice a year and I though I’ve seen and known a lot till I started watching yours videos? Thanks giving me another reason to retire and live in Thailand haven’t decided which city . Was leaning to Pattaya but after watching you I may do Bangkok and check out you’re service ., maybe you can do a tour of hospital and different insurance insurance is my biggest issue now
Walking around the city is interesting. There are 7-Eleven stores, large hospitals and hotels. It's especially interesting that there are food stalls all over the street.
I have done that walk on my first visit to Bangkok in 2017 it is heart wrenching . I hate these videos 😁 because i am not there 😔😂 i miss Thailand especially Bangkok . I see many other vloggers vlog but i fing yours very entertaining with great content ..Thank you
I thought it looked familiar! I stayed at that Legacy Express and I got too scared to walk down that rail-road at night when I was coming home from Neon lol. It was too dark
Thank you for the video. For the most part, people you met along the way were local Thai. On some section of the video, there were people spoke Isann (northeastern Thailand) dialogue. These people are probably domestic workers that come to the city for job opportunity.
Even though it's a house next to the train tracks But I think they are not very poor, I noticed the air conditioners, at least they have to pay for the expensive electricity You are kind to the children And always the poor, Thailand has places that are unlikely to go But Europeans love to explore I find it interesting I hope that my country will continue to develop in spite of political problems In this video it shows that in the pictures of the developing city But there is a life of a group of People who are still struggling to survive And always a better life
This slum community along the train side from Makkason area. Government just approved new high speed train from Rayong to Don Muang airport which CP group got approval to develop this area. The train line in this slum come from Klong-toey port which it's the major import-export transport to other part of Thailand before. Now, the center for export container moved to Lat Krabang after that move by train to Laem Chabang port. Thailand under improvement train system all route now which Grand station will move to Bangsue from year 2021. Klong-toey slum will move to new condominium near the express way in 3-4 year, after that will develop the area by real estate company for luxury condominium and Marina to Chaopraya river. After project completed this area will have no more slums.
I think if you walked in a similar area on other countries you wouldn't leave with your Samsung s10, gimbal and any cash in your pockets. It is amazing to me how safe a city bangkok is and how safe it feels when you wander around
@@globaltravelmate you must be getting through an incredible amount of steps since you started the videos. I am not sure that if I was doing it that I would be able to pass all the amazing looking food stands and sample all the incredible Thai foods that are on offer.
I think they come from the countryside to find a job, they can not effort to buy land because it's too big money, (for food +cloth+ job +education +tv the basic things they can pay).
Several years ago, we visited Bangkok and my wife came down with a really bad cold for 10 days. With several high recommendations, I took her to this Bumrungrad International Hospital in this video. During the doctor evaluation, we told the doctor that she was allergic to penicillin when he asked. Guess what, he still prescribed her a medication that had penicillin in it. Within 30 seconds after my wife took the medication, she had a severe allergic reaction to penicillin that I ended up took her to a local clinic in the hotel (Shangri-la Hotel). The doctor in the clinic saved her. It was a close call. At first I thought that there was a language barrier between my wife and the doctor, but I didn't think so because I spoke to the doctor in Thai also. Very disappointed! So I would be seriously caution seeing any doctors in Bangkok. And Yes, the facility is very nice but you get what you pay for!
I think that this rail way is not in use any more it use to be a train trake for transporting oil now a day they stop using it to avoid car traffic because this rail pass many main streets.
Haha thats funny. Yesterday I posted a video on my youtubechannel with the exact same streetfood restaurant (timestamp 2:10) and I asked someone other if he already eat there. So if you eat there someday please let me know if its good are so la la. If you look on my video you can compare this streetfood restaurant on September 2019 (pre covid) with nowadays.
Most countries do not allow people so close to railway tracks for obvious reasons. Thailand probably has not reached such a level yet and safety is not a priority right now
Most of the people in that community are Thai but Sometimes I don’t know where they are from until they speak with their family. Except Laos people, it’s hard to distinguish.
Heey...i was at Bumrumgrad....a great hospital...real class , the staff too. Thanx Mr.J 🙏!
🛤Walking the ol' tracks eyyy.🙂👍
awesome video. i always wanted to walk up those tracks but have not yet. you sir are inspiring me. and....i wanna see that snake video!

This community is so unique. They have both canal and train track!!! Whoa! 👍👍👍🇹🇭🇹🇭🇹🇭
even in place like this, still look clean.
CB Media filmed here too and so many commented, “Is this a slum? Wow, the cleanest slum ever seen.”

I heard some of them speak Cambodian (the girl who ask 100 Baht from you) and some of them are human trafficing(beggar) from nieghboring country.

Is it possible to walk across the rail bridge across the canal? I’d like to visit the temple in conjunction with walking the tracks.
Yes, you can walk across

We mostly go to Sukhumvit Hospital

The Thais that live there are probably from Isan. That's the dialect I'm hearing when they speak.
I saw settle lite dish on the roof near railways.😂😂😂
Yes I heard they speak cambodian when the girl ask for 100bth. This is real life, the reality.

It can’t be denied that fact that there are a lot foreign workers and labors in Bangkok. I don’t think most of them live in condos and apartments
Yes. You are Thai and will know.
you should have asked the child for his football and showed how's it done.
Haha, wont be able to show them much :-)
me and friends fined 200 euro for taking short cut across rail line in vienna cant see that happening here.
The little girl who asked you for 100 baht, she didn’t speak Thai.
She speak Cambodia languge
They speak 3 languages, Thai, Cambodia and Laos. And the girl just make a joke but he gave her money for real.
