@@roud4754 Yeah through all the travel videos and people I’ve talked to, most do not hate Americans, just the gov. And as an American myself I can fully understand that, I’ve educated myself a lot on and am disgusted by what’s been done to others.
There is some sure, but there is also many hateful Americans too, and I can understand more in their case given the experiences they’ve had.
The illusion of upholding “freedom and democracy” has definitely weakened, and albeit for varying reasons, Americans have become much more anti war. During elections now, the opponents will accuse the other of wanting war/expose their role in Iraq war. And the younger Americans especially oppose US imperialism strongly. Another big shift is attitude toward Israel, there has been mainstream media that called Israel apartheid and called out war crimes, and some leftwing politicians. Only a few years ago this would’ve never happened, it would’ve been very one sided and wouldn’t of offered sympathy to Palestinians.

I'm amazed to see the wonderful smiles and will to live of Syrian people despite everything that's happening there since a long time. I'm Turkish and we're hosting millions of Syrian refugees here since more than ten years and officials here keep on telling us that Syria is like hell, there's war in every corner and people just can't go back. When i see videos like this i feel they're just lying to us, imperialistic aims of course. Syrians seem to be brave, warm, amazing people, wish i could visit there some day. I'm also sorry that my own people here have lost their will to live, joy and smiles, even without a war, go to every street and try to interview people, a complete different situation,very sad.

I oncely saw a reportage about university students in a syrian university and many news about war and about recovering of war, in every video you can notice they have fine features and this video confirms it, as we say in Mexico you look like hand carved. Not the war isn’t over. Idlib province is still contested. There is still bombing/shelling of the Syrian people. Think around 50% current live in poverty which is much higher than prewar. Millions of Syrians are abroad with no intention of returning because they are fearful or potential reprisals but most do not have a good qualify of life in exhale. Many struggle with the basics housing, food, water, constant power cuts, etc
