- And now for something completely different. In 1983, I was contacted to ask if I thought the family would be interested in appearing on a week's run of 'Celebrity Family Feud'. This time they wanted it to be famous singing families. Well, after my dismal showing on 'Super Password' as a regular contestant, I leapt at the chance for redemption and said “yes, we'd love to”.
The show would air in Camtober (sorry, I mean October as it was called in those days). I seem to recall that they contacted Marilyn initially and she told them to call me for some reason. Then the coordinator asked me if I had any ideas on who else to have on the show. I think they already had the Lennons. She said they'd like some family that wasn’t, well... white. The first name that came to mind was the Pointer Sisters (being a huge fan since the mid 70's). There was a long silence on the other end of the phone, so I said, "ok, how 'bout Sister Sledge?" She said, "great!”
You'll notice mom makes a joke about St. Joseph's Hospital. More on that on the next installment. Yes, you guys are gonna hate me cuz I’m gonna dribble this show out to last the whole month of Camtober. So please, if you know who won, don’t ruin it for the others, ok? You'll be on the edge of your seats!

Meredith MacRae and Tina Cole played sisters-in-law on TV though they never appeared together on-screen. Meredith ("Sally") married oldest son Mike Douglas on My Three Sons and Tina ("Katie") married Robby. Mike and Sally left the show soon after marrying and did not show up for Rob and Katie's wedding.

It is a dream to be on a game show like this Cam, glad for you and your gals, and even better to do it for worthy causes. Always did love this one, Ray Combs was the host I grew up with, my personal favorite of them all, loved his humor and ecstatic personality. Would like to see your appearance on Super Password if you have access to it and are up to showing it. Were there any other game shows you, your Mom, your cousins, or anyone other family ever attended as a contestant, or just an audience member? Ever been to Jeopardy? Was there month before last, lot of fun, intellectually stimulating, & Alex is very funny too.
This show is from 1983 ABC daytime(celeb shows on ABC daytime Feud had no parting gift plugs at end of the show, and the syndicated version had fee plugs even on celeb shows, and SUper Password debuted in 1984. They could be confusing SUper Password with the quite similar in format Password Plus, which aired from 1979-82.

Meredith Macrae was an occasional game show player, and Greg Mullavey turned up occasionally as a celeb, too.
Super Password aired 1984-89. Password PLus aired 1979-82. If this is from 1983, and I believe it is, then you were on Password PLus, not SUper Password
The episode guides for both shows look complete and don't mention him. Maybe it was a different show entirely like Pyramid?

I've never watched Family Feud before. The host - whoever he is - certainly loves to kiss the ladies on the lips, he seems creepy to me.
There's a generation of people who know Family Feud as hosted by Steve Harvey, as he's hosted the show(in his tenth season) for just about as long as RIchard Dawson did(1976-85 and 1994-95, ten years). Dawson in 1994-95 didn't kiss female contestants as he was married with a four year old daughter by that time.
