I think it’s a testament to how great a director Scorsese is that this is considered one of his “lesser” movies. As great as DeNiro is in this movie. I wish Harvey Keitel collaborated more with Scorsese
Well put that it has “Taxi Driver DNA”. Speaking of which, I heard somewhere that they are finally doing a standalone 4K of Taxi Driver. Have you heard anything?
I just got this today saw Boxcar Bertha this past weekend on Amazon never seen it before but when I was 14 my buddy sneak his dad's playboy out of the house I always remember the pictures but not the article
I also just watched this film for the first time and I absolutely LOVED IT! I would also put it on my top 5 Scorsese films! And my new favorite DeNiro performance!
I actually like the Criterion cover more but I’m SERIOUSLY pissed off they’re doing the regular case for all the Scorsese films, when films like Thelma & Louise and Dazed and Confused get a beautiful boxcase
Kent, do both releases have the original, theatrical cut? Meaning, do they open up with the classic Warner Brothers logo with the red background, or the more common WB logo in the clouds?
I love movies like this with heavy dialogue, but the mother of my kids would lose her mind trying to watch this movie. If we saw it in a theater, she would want to leave in the first 30 minutes.🍿 😂
you wernt in the mafia - pure lies. I didnt like Deniro in this or the film itself but that box is making me get fomo. I love the green tinge of 80's street street lights
Thanks for Tubi tip, did not know, will definitely go there to watch/screen for possible disc buy.

I just watched this for the first time and I’m not gonna lie, I think this is DeNiro’s best performance.

It's listed on bluray.com, but no date yet. Looks like it's happening though.
@@midlevelmediaIt’s always been there, all the Columbia Classics have individual listings, but that doesn’t mean it’s there’s a foreseeable release.

I like Chunky box sets like Arrow Video too. The Second Sight version is pretty expensive, however I am on the verge of making a purchase.
Thanks for the review I will certainly check this movie out. I picked up After Hours on 4k based on your review and I loved that one.

Great review and comparison!
Beautiful Boxset!!💯🔥🤘
Second Sight sounds like the pure winner to me. If you want to pay a little more. Besides that book looks nice.

@@thischannelisdeleted yeah I wish they would consistently give all their 4Ks the box cases

Classic logo
Great review! Thanks! Never seen the movie. Gonna grab the criterion at some point
I've got the Second Sight big box set too :) - I was surprised at the hardback book :)
I prefer my Scorsese a little more raw so naturally I'm a big fan of this. Great film Great review
Same here man. Glad you enjoy it too!

Got Second sight Mean Streets and High Tension arrive last week also did you get Inside that’s bluray only.
Haven't pre-ordered yet, but definitely plan to.
WTF Criterion, why do you keep getting your ass handed to you 2 years later?
