Can't thank you enough for coloring in all the details of my favorite Dead Tunes. You've brought my Dead covers to an entirely new level! Thank you. Peace!
My band Elephunk finally put this song back on the setlist after it being just a cover idea for a minute. Can’t thank you enough for the lesson bro!! Now I finally get to jam like Jerry🔥🔥🔥
Thank you!!!!!! I've been trying to figure out how to put it all together and here it is. Thanks again, I will spend hours on your channel every day now that I've found you!!!!!🎸🎸🎸
I've long had a love/hate relationship with this song, but I'm all love for your channel! Enjoyed your run through of actually playing the song as well, although you HAVE to use a mutron to play it IMO. Congrats on 5000!
Shakedown Street is such an odd album. I crank out this song on the Touch Tunes at my local bar, I can almost guarantee no one in there knows who the hell it is. I think the locals think its some offshoot, Pink Floyd B-Side. Thanks my man+
Just in time for my new QTron to be delivered, per your Jerry Rig video recommendation! Would make for a cool video if you showed how you like to dial yours in, plus the octave pedal & other songs you use them for. Congrats on hitting 5K!
It just isn’t cutting through. I’d suggest adjusting whatever the equivalent of the “drive” is or adding an EQ pedal before it in the signal chain to boost your highs through it.
congrats on the 5k sub level... the cauldron is simmering... dead at red rocks was truly a paleolithic event .. here's a vote for a more folkie-country lesson... the DIRE WOLF... shiver me timbers in fenario...
I like your breakdown ( no pun intended… heh).. ya breeze right through it.. that’s very cool.! I’m a little insulted by your portrayal of hippies though.. But hey.,! To each their own.. Thanks much for the lesson.! I picked up a used auto-wah.. and figured this tune is a great place to start..👍🏼
Thank you, You must have made the number of subs private for a good reason. Nice jam... For a special treat check out 1/15/79 Miracle> shakedown. A friend of mine who went to school in springfield mass found a cassette of this show in his locker and it was a treasured bootleg of mine back in the 1980s.... The transition between miracle>shakedown could be the best ever. It is pre Brent 1979 era. People often don't have many tapes from 1979.. This is a real standout before Keith and Donna were gone from the band. Oh and also check out the Terrapin>playin from the same show and also the passenger (could be the first time I have EVER recommended someone listen to a passenger lol), Oh, one more thing... Is that a Milkman the Amp there? How do you like it?
Just subscribed, great channel! Have been playing for awhile but still don’t know the technological side of the pedals and stuff. But I’m going to get more in-depth. I can play it and jam to a backing track but I’d like to get the pedals and such to make the effect. What do I need exactly. I heard you mention it in the beginning.
Definitely get some sort of envelope filter. Electro harmonixs makes some great ones like the Q-tron. Or you could go for something like the spacial delivery from Earthquaker devices
Loved every minute of it. Question: Where can we get Toby & Davvy gear for the heavies? I'm talking a nice 3XL grey shirt with the T&D logo in time for these West Coast Trey shows?!?!
Thanks, homie! Patreon is a website where you can give us some cash to keep the lights on and in exchange you get even more exclusive content you can’t get anywhere else. You also get access to our private discord server (think of like a Facebook just for our fans)
This is awesome. Best lesson of this song. I tried learning it a few months ago, but all the videos were off. What's Ur dead cover band? I'm in Jersey and seen Splintered sunlight a couple times
I’m in a couple tributes. On the channel every other Monday I play with my group “Chants in the Void”, I’m also in a decently big tribute called “Tennessee’s Dead” and I’m starting a Jerry Band tribute called “St.Owsley”
Well done! Great lesson. I am glad I found this channel. You do a great job explaining everything. You're a silly fucker too by the way... love it. Keep it up!
I don’t even have a guitar, but I met my boy Davy at the Hemporium and thought he was a cool cat so here I am
That’s high praise!

best guitar lessons out there. thank you for giving Jerry the beautiful tributes he deserves 💀⚡️🌹❤️
These lessons are the best thing that I have seen on the internet in a long time. Not merely the best lessons. The best *thing.* Thank you Davvy.
Thank you for your hard work! These videos are the best for anyone who wants to learn dead songs!

Fantastic! Really clear, fun, and spot-on to my ear. Love it. Thank you.

Dude that guitar sounds so good
Yayyyyy!!!! This album was my childhood intro to the Dead & this is the first Grateful Dead song I can remember growing up. #ThankYou 🙌🏽🔥👍🏽
That’s awesome!
Davvy you're a beauty eh. From up in Canada please keep doing these I am a huge fan and learning lots!
Haha. I’ll never be able to stop, homie!
Great stuff for advanced players like me. Good humor, but no nonsense. Thanks!
qtron nano coming today...shakedown first song i want to play.
thanks for this easy and funny tutorial! dead for life.

5000, should be 500000 with the quality of your content
That’s high praise! Let’s make it happen!
I laughed out loud when you flashed that photo of wook #17. Thanks for another lesson and congrats on 5,000
Thanks, fam!
Great lesson as always, now to work on improvising over it aka the fun part
Great lesson. Thanks a lot dude. Very appreciated.
Great lesson. It helped me a lot.
This is the first time seeing one of your videos. I'm one minute in and I subscribed. I already know I'm gonna like your stuff lol
Just in time for my new QTron to be delivered, per your Jerry Rig video recommendation! Would make for a cool video if you showed how you like to dial yours in, plus the octave pedal & other songs you use them for. Congrats on hitting 5K!
Great idea!
I ordered a mxr envelope filter from reverb. It seems like it cuts out when I play high notes like 15th fret. Is this common?
It just isn’t cutting through. I’d suggest adjusting whatever the equivalent of the “drive” is or adding an EQ pedal before it in the signal chain to boost your highs through it.
@@TobyDavvy O cool, I admire Ur gear knowledge! I've been playing a while but lack tech and hardware. Thanks so much!
Rock On brother. Not sure how I've missed you in the past but here we are today. I'm in.
Thanks for joining the fam!
Congrats on the new milestone!!!
Thanks, John!
Thanks for the lesson. Really awesome. I need Deep Elem blues. Can you please do a deep elem blues lesson. All the love!❤
yeah there is a lot of dirt balls on Shakedown Street, love the content Davvy!
When Bobby is on during this song there is magic. When he’s off it’s a train wreck
That’s hilarious
I heard a version from the mid 80’s, Bobby was playing with some heavy distortion and changed up the rhythm a bit. It sounded AWEFUL!
@@timbartlebaugh9915 Yeah Bobby has a lot pf weir tones sometimes they dont work and some time they do
So true. He's the most interesting guitarist for me. Coming up with different voicings and weird rhythms is fascinating
Brilliant! Kudos on reaching 5k subscribers!
Thanks, mark!
