    I grew up wrestling with Blair’s Will Henckel. We’re playing dodgeball after practice one time and I’m not the best player in the room, but he picks me first anyway. I asked him why and what he said I’ll never forget. “I’d rather take a shot at winning the upset with my friends than dominate with people I don’t know.” If I remember correctly, we lost pretty bad. He’s an amazing wrestler and a great person too.

    Really good editing on this, turning a 90 minute marathon into a 10 minute highlight reel without making it feel like anything was missed. It's really bizarre that they would forfeit the deciding match though, I've seen wrestlers hide broken bones so that they didn't have to miss their match

I realized I could use a lot more of my judo training and techniques I knew in that style over folkstyle. More points available and a much more free style. Also, there's not really as many rules as folk. Folk doesn't let you clasp your hands, I always hated that rule.

    • @walthoward68
      @walthoward68 Рік тому

      @@zaynes5094 Judo is an excellent study, but I tend to believe that both forms of wrestling-depending upon the quality of coaching available-tones the body, and for developing young men on a subconscious level, it builds a more realistic sense of confidence and respect for others. Self-discipline is not something easily learned, and I believe that the ‘training’ involved here is worth its weight in gold, as far as confidence is concerned. I hope the legacy continues because it’s one of our best institutions in education. I realize that there are many ‘knuckle-dragging’ neanderthal coaches out there, but the physical and intellectual challenges wrestlers face so readily is a plus for those living in the blue collar world. Perhaps it’s more about balancing what you should do with what you should not. It goes far beyond a matter of win vs. loss. It’s about dignity, self-respect and honor as a man.

    Not for nothing my kid wrestles and as a parent if my kid looked at the opposing side and put his finger to his moth to shush them I would be pissed. I never liked cocky because there will always be someone better. Show some class and after the win help the other guy up. shake his hand like a man whhen you win or lose, nobody likes a sore loser.

      There will always be someone better? That's theoretically true, but the top wrestlers won't even lose 5 matches in high school. And if they do, it's usually because they wrestle across the country. Unfortunately, they aren't humbled until they go to college.

Turn to the Lord ask for forgiveness and sin no more. Thanks, Faith, Trust, Love, Focus in God. Trust and have faith in God’s plan. Don’t use Gods name in vain or call yourself and worship other Gods for it is a sin. Repent for all your sins even one’s you may not know and ask God to show you those sins.
