Is there any indication that any of the UGCC (or Melkite) bishops were signatories on the petition lead by Archbishop Sigaud for Pope St. Paul VI to Consecrate Russia to the Immaculate Heart of Mary in 1964 during the Council? Rev. Wiltgen reports that some 510 signatures were collected and listed "patriarchs" as being among the episcopate signatories, so I'm curious if this included Eastern representation.
in 1964 I started work in the office of Archbishop Metropolitan Maxim Hermaniuk CSSR. He was so delight when he would come home from the Vatican Council. He used to say, I never in my dreams, thought that I would experience what happened at the Council these years.

Is not the filioque clause in the Nicean Creed a major obstacle to unity?
