My last food day in New York before heading to Seattle and beginning my move to Texas. There are quite a few Chinatowns in New York and the one I spent a lot of time in was the Chinatown around Elmhurst NY, this time went back for some Indonesia noodles for breakfast

The indonesian "rice cake" is called lontong!
It is partly cooked rice that is wrapped in banana leaves and then sealed off, after which it is steamed for another hour or so. Because the rice expands the kernels break and it is pressed into the shape of the banana leaf wrapper.
When unwrapped they cut it into blocks and it is traditionally always served with Saté Kambing, which is supposed to be goat meat, but a lot of places "cheat" and use lamb, because goat might be more difficult to come by.
Good education on such a delicious meal.
Or you can substitute banana leaf with coconut leaf and it's become ketupat
And lontong is best served not only with sate kambing but also with good peanut sauce

I live in Australia and I LOVE spicy food! I asked for super spicy one day at my local Thai place and unknowingly started a war with the man who owns it. He progressively made it more and more spicy and eventually ended up giving me a bag of his crazy chillies to use at home 😆 Keep up the awesome vids Mikey!!

Discrimination is awful in a workplace and bullying is even worse! Some people are so mean and backstabbed, that’s the scariest part. Mike’s videos by contrast demonstrates kindness, friendliness, and good-hearted. even though he loves his food, there seems to be positive and good vibes around him. I wish you all the best.
Even though things are opening up, I'm not ready to sit inside a restaurant yet. But watching Mike enjoy his breakfast makes me nostalgic for a great meal out. He's right, you get such a blast of positive energy after eating a great meal. I miss that so much.
I wish we had this kinda food in the UK. This all looks unreal! I've been to Indonesia and this stuff looks legit!

Re: deep fried pork belly.. I lived in Denmark for a year (no offense, but not the most exciting food) but the family I lived with made flisk... deep fried pork fat. Crispy on the outside, then a flood of creamy fat inside. I'm sure your pork belly was better, but I remember that flisk with love.
My country, Singapore, has that too, we call it deep-fried lard. Mostly in Chinese dishes.
It's actually the danish national dish. "Stegt flæsk med Persillesovs" which is, as you described, deepfried pork belly usually served with potatoes and a parsley sauce.
We in South Africa call it kaiings, little blocks of pork belly, frying in its own fat till crispy, take out the crispy bits and let the left over fat cool down and settle. The fat we use to spread on bread in stead of butter and the crispy bits we eat as snacks. Im really craving it now D:
When I was a kid about 50 years ago, my mom used to pan fry white bread with pork lard and salt lightly sprinkled over the bread. Awesome!

Mike you should try omachi beef stew instant noodles. It available on amazon, i would love to hear your opinion on it because it is one of my favorite instant noodles
I would get teased so much even as an adult for eating things like feet or organs...smh most Americans have no clue that these items taste SO good if cooked and prepared correctly. I am happy my parents gave me an appreciation for the whole animal not just the regular cuts. Thank you for bringing us these wonderful dishes from amazing food places.
