    This is NOT a promotional video. I pay for all of my flights and hotels (and I always tell you how much!) so I can be as honest and impartial as possible. I do not receive any special treatment that wouldn’t otherwise be publicly accessible, in fact, the hotels and airlines have no idea about my visit and that's the way I like it!

    Beautiful place! I prefer this to Phuket to be honest. Even though the villa comes across as a bit tired, I love the style and unpretentiousness of the whole place. Already looking forward to The Six Senses and congratulations on 50.000 subscribers which you probably will have reached as soon as this comment has been posted! 🥳🎂💫🎉

      The Six Senses is divine. Hard to believe it’s usually half the price of SS Yao Noi. Thanks as always for the encouragement and support. I feel like it wasn’t long ago I was replying “I can’t believe 25k came so quick” 😅

    We stayed there over the holidays this year for 4 nights as part of an amazing trip through Thailand and Cambodia. 7 of us stayed in a 4 bedroom villa complex. We loved the relaxed, Thai style resort and service. Nothing better at this price point. Our pool was a bit chilly but was just so relaxing. We had good experience at lunch and breakfast and even room service for all of us our first evening served in our outdoor living room - agreed that we had more interesting food outside the hotel.. Nice review - I think we gushed over it a bit more than you, Kevin. It was my friends and their adult (early 20s) kids first trip to Asia and they were gobsmacked when we entered the villa complex. It was a lot of stairs. We’d happily go back again.

    Your review is great as always. I've been to this Belmond last December (and also the Six Senses), and I agree with almost everything, except the room position. The front row rooms gave me the best sea views i've ever had at any hotel in Asia. The beach is calm, you open your window and listen to the sound of the water, and you see the beach itselt, not only the sea in a distance. I wish i could post a photo here of what i mean. So it definitely worth the upgrade!

      My main complaint about the first row was the lack of privacy on the balconies. That alone ruled it out for me. Thanks for watching 🙏🏻

    Perfect review. We've been at the Napasai last January for 3 weeks, and I agree with you, except the room position. We didn't had any problem with the breakfast , always good and the good point it's they change every day most of the proposal hotel (important for long stay guest). My only concern like you was the bath.... we have tried few hotels on the island and certainly the best for us of course not for people in search of nightlife etc....hopefully hopping its will stay a seclude and calm resort. Beach restaurant is amazing for the atmosphere and the food, not agree with the restaurants outside in Koh Samui they are not really very good in general especially Thai food as too much tourist oriented. We are already planning a stay next Feb there.

      If you haven’t tried it already I’d highly suggest checking out Six Senses or Vana Belle. VB is more centrally located but still feels a world away. SS is my top choice though.

    Awesome! I love this style and real wood. Curious how Bensely went from a design more like Aman to borderline garish.

    • @tfft
      @tfft  Рік тому +1

      He has different categories of design. This is how many of his older designs were but now a days he has “conservation”, “experience” and “story telling” design categories. I assume the ones you referred to as garish are all in the story telling category haha.

    Tx for the accessibility comment in this review. I think be good to add an accessibility score moving forward and hope you find a smart way to do this. great production on your reviews!

    • @tfft
      @tfft  Рік тому

      Making a score would be difficult since it would be near impossible for a number score to thoughtfully incorporate all types of accessibility challenges, that said… accessibility is in every one of my reviews, even if I don’t mention it. There’s a long list of things that I only speak about in reviews unless they are outliers. Not to equate this to accessibility, but for example: if a five star hotel has nice and acceptable towels, I won’t mention it. If those towels are exceptionally plush OR exceptionally ratty, I will mention it on the video.
      So, when I see accessibility challenges (or properties that cater towards it extraordinarily well…) I will always give it a mention. Thanks for watching 🙏🏻

    Loved your thailand series! for Blemond, would you recommend this if we had a baby/stroller? Would imagine going up and down stairs would get real tiring. Are there any rooms you can just walk into without climbing stairs?

    • @tfft
      @tfft  8 місяців тому

      It's 100% dependent on which type of room you book. Some require stairs, some do not. But even the ones that do not still involve steep pathways from the reception area. Thanks for watching 🩴

    Brilliant review thank you. I've watched this and your Vana Belle review - I'm torn between the two. First time in Samui for us, staying for 1 week - which would you say is best? (not taking in to account cost). Thank you!

    • @tfft
      @tfft  Рік тому

      I’d say they’re both equally good resorts so it would need to come down to location. Napasai is quite isolate (not really that far…) whereas Vana Belle is much closer to more restaurants and shops. Thanks for watching 🩴

      @karimshepherd6454 Рік тому

      Thank you! We’re looking for a relaxing break but do like to get out of the resort and eat locally / explore so Vana Belle is probably a better bet. It’s nearly twice as expensive the time of year I’m going though so I’m still torn. I’m continuing to go through your videos, but if there’s anywhere worse in Samui you highly recommend any further advice would be highly appreciated! Thanks again either way 👍

    Appreciate you addressing the accessibility of this resort. It's definitely not for the mobility impaired or elderly, l think the shower over bath situation is being phased out at a lot of hotels now (where practical) it seems they are very proud of the "terrazzo bath" looking at the website, more a death 🙄. Your meal on the first night looked sensational. The Thai meal on the second is not as impressive. Overall, it looks like a beautiful 👍 resort
