So nowhere on the official data here does it mention what they were doing together !?!
For those who want to know...
This was during the recording of the third solo album from Anni-Frid Lyngstad (Frida) in March 1982, called Something's Going On. Frida wanted to distance herself from the ABBA sound she was associated with and decided to incorporate strings and Orchestra instead of typical Synthesizer sounds. To this end as she was recording with Phil Collins they went to George Martin's Studio to record the orchestral parts of her album and Paul McCartney was in attendance. Hence their appearance in this short snippet of behind the scenes footage of the recording session.
Hope that clears up some of the mystery. :)

How? All I heard was that he kept such a tight reign on the controls that he practically strangled everybody. The braying voiced self-pitying "I'm on yet ANOTHER divorce, let's bore the public with another self-pitying album about it" (you can tell wanker Adele listens, can't you?) is guilty of some of the worst songs of the best decade (the 80s) and one of the worst voices. And ending '89 with a "Think twice"-how is it another day in paradise for us, you midgety old fossil, you with the 5 mansions in different countries, billions in the bank and the ceaseless need for public adoration over your many divorced while your coffers refill for no god reason whatsoever. Just another tosser like Sting and Weller.

I got Frida's album from Columbia House in 1983 and have always loved the fact that Phil produced it and performed on it. He's the reason the drums on that awesome title track have that heavy gated reverb on them. I've always loved that effect. "To Turn The Stone" is, however, the greatest song on that album, IMO. And "Threnody".

George Harrison wrote the song "You" from Extra Texture especially for Abba - He invited Abba to Friar Park, they spent a weekend there in 1974 - worked on the song, added their vocals but decided they wanted to release their own material, so their version was left on the shelf. George released it instead in the same year.

    The Beatles - Corporate Band.
    ABBA - Indie Band.
ABBA were a self contained indie band that did everything themselves. They had no corporate music industry puppeteers or overlords.
The Beatles were owned by corporate music industry establishment, which promoted them and set-up and paved the way for their huge success in America.
Since ABBA were independent, they did not have the corporate music establishment on their side.
ABBA's huge success was because of grassroots support -- Eurovision Song Contest win and their low budget music clips sent to TV stations. They did not need the American market, like the Beatles did.

Michael and Phil? Big deal, how much of that was authentic, and it doesn't mean a damn thing if it's undeserved. There's way better artists filling the 80s, and a few other decades than Jackson and Fossil Collins, it's THEY who should be selling the 100mill. Stats are bullshit and taste is a joke. Fixed charts also play the parts, and rigged charts how have been criticised for many decades. In fact, it explains the whole non-music scene now. Shift a piece of shit to a family member or a DJ your manager threatened and you go to No.1 for 5 years. Wow, achievements for nothing. No wonder no one tries any more and is just trying instead as living beings.
