theres something about the way this album starts...the second i first heard it i knew it would hold itself correlated to that moment from here on out..can still smell the car ride. weird.
Perhaps it has to do with the tone of their songs. Compared to their counterparts (the likes of LITE or Low Pass), Mirror tend to play in more laid-back tone so that that "mathy" and intricate beats on the drum are less needed.
This is merely because their songs are in 4/4. Typically Math rock songs are not in one particular time signature, hence "math". This isn't necessarily math rock, it's just good music

good music, but to me it seems the drummer is holding everything back from being really "mathy". I don't mean speed...just style.
