- 10 years of wait, 8 years of development and 1 random ginger that likes vikings. Bannerlord honestly seems like a decent game, especially considering it's early access, but let's be honest here that at launch it was pretty interesting. We have broken AI, workshop exploits, siege glitches and overall just a mess. Watch as Tommy experiences this all for the first time in 1 massive siege that made out to be what Bannerlord is in a nutshell. This is what 8 years of development looks like in Bannerlord!

Mount and Blade is one of the games that even if it was a broken mess at launch, any player would think its pretty fun. I have 73 hours on it despite getting less than 30 fps.
looking at the hotfixes and developers' hard-working, the game will be pretty playable and fun at the same time around 4-5 months later. this plus some great mods... makes me excited..
Leumas Nirat I don’t know I refunded it after an hour, it was glitchy,buggy,outdated graphics(I even prefer warbands), and in my opinion terrible battles that are laggy. Oh and it also having less features then warband. Terrible game, disappointing and to me inferior to warband.
@@natebox4550 You know that it's early acces, right? The full game is/was meant to launch next year. Also most of the bugs and crashes have been fixed in the first few patches.

You have to get as many parties in your clan as possible. Get a companion, give them some decent armor, and put them in charge of their own party. You will have to pay for their troops, but it will help you a LOT in future wars
To be fair, they did restart development multiple times if I recall correctly.

Tommy, when you create your kingdom you automatically end all wars you are in. You didn't need to pay that 50k, you just had to talk to Arzagos without your castle being taken.

@@TommyKay That's why you leave a garrison and save the game. I did that, went on my own to him, and the people sieging my castle left.
The thing I love about Bannerlord is that in any type of battle you can singlehandedly turn the tides. In a siege battle, if you get on a siege tower jump onto the walls and then onto a nearby house roof then onto the ground, the enemy defenders on the walls can't follow you and you can potentially open the gates YOURSELF. This changes the entire outcome of the battle if you lost your siege towers or battering ram. It only works if there aren't dozens of defenders at the gates already, which happens when you either don't have a battering ram or already lost it.
On a field battle, you can distract the enemy forces by running out at them at an angle so they have a harder time hitting you with ranged weapons. They'll try to follow you if you stay close enough to draw aggro, which leaves them exposed. The ENTIRE time your units can be shooting at them until they run out of arrows and by that point you could already be winning. Also, by killing enough of their units yourself, you have a morale shock which makes dozens of units flee the battlefield.
There are TONS of glitches but the game is fucking amazing. It's literally a Total War game but if you could actually fight the enemy yourself.
Dude they don't REALLY want all your money when you barter for a peace deal. If you gave them maybe a few thousand denars they'd be happy.

in their defence, they have been doing a good job at stamping out the bugs. Its sad that this is how it is after 8 years ... but i still have hope that the devs can iron out the kinks (which they have been doing so far). Hope everybody has some patience (eventhough i can understand expecting a stable game after 8 years) :P
They didn't spend 8 years making the game, they made Fire & shot, viking wars and napoleonic before actually getting their hands on Bannerlord, and they made a new engine alone as a very small company, that takes A LOT of time

Battering rams are the best option probably but the only problem is that they can get broken down super quickly by the enemy artillery.
Tommy be aware the game is not fully finished just yet, so it is usual to have few bugs like those

The company that made this game are during several patches a week. It did not even take them 8 years to make the game they made other games in those 8 years.

yea I'm waiting till full release before I even play the campaign and the MP is pretty shit if you compare it to warband (in terms of customization).
Pira I bought it instantly. I expected 80% of what the devblogs say. I am very pleased with the single player experience and sieges; but lack of quests and other small things bother me. No nodding tools like we were promised... multiplayer class selection is dumbed down for “experience”. But I am glad warband sweatlords can no longer take advantage of people
@@Coldfront15 You're not missing anything you were promised lmao, if you ignored their message about early access and went in expecting the full game then the problem is yours alone. They're handling this extremely well for an early access title.
Jack An extremely early access title that had eight years of work put into it, two years ago we saw the state of the game and it hasn’t changed. You’re a fool that is blinded by nostalgia. You don’t see the lack of content that was promised in the devblogs. That’s not to say they aren’t moving forward and working hard, but this was as disappointing as No Mans Sky, they’re just safe because “it’s early access”.

Game optimization is shit i have recommended system requirements and i still get around 40 fps with constant fps drops and stuttering
The game is litteraly not playable and devs should work on fixing the bugs and optimizing it
One time my army slow walked all the way up to the walls with the siege tower and as soon as it deployed they all ran away from it, getting shot in the back as they ran. Couldn't call them back, so many things in this game make me save scum. Anyone who plays on ironman mode must hate themselves.

Edit b4 I get called out: Somebody said it was actually 3 years of development. I don't know if that's true, but either way first years of development are usually spent on research, experimenting, and building a toolkit with which you're gonna make the game.
Ok, so in future people of Calradia will be telling the story about how one mad man siege one castle TWICE, pay the previous owner heck amounts of money and started kingdom from one castle and village which he born in.

They took Forever with the Game Engine xD About 4 Years or so and they renew the Campaign and stuff. ( glad that i'm german and i can understand him xD )

He built the towers in the same slot. So he had two in one slot and only one can be deployed in each slot.
The siege towers are honestly pretty useless for castles. Just building a ram and then running up and placing ladders is all you need to do. All I have ever used the towers for is larger cities.
The worst part about Tommy getting mad is he just cannot be consoled at all.
Don't think I've ever been so disappointed by a game with so much development time. I know they faced A LOT of crap from the Turkish government and had a lot of setbacks but even then the game feels like it needed another 6 months in bug testing..

I found a broken bug when you play as merchant and you reach lvl225 of trading it will let u trade settlements so basically there is a bar that show you how likeable the.seller will accept the deal so the bar is broken so he will accept buut they made the price so damn hight to buy a settlement that what I think it went to the negative so Its free to take so I.conquer all the word.just by buying settlements and btw u can make infinite money as a merchant

I mean they had to build a completely new engine half way through development so yeah also a part of it is that Tommy just needs to have more confidence in this fighting capability's or lower the difficulty, theres no shame in that.
