    Just a heads up - in some Vsett 10+ models, the hole at the back that you sealed is already sealed in some models. I opened up mine (to replace a damaged deck) and found that they'd already sealed it from the factory.
    I suspect they designed one half and then mirrored it during the design phase - the same approach can be seen with the covers which hold the lighting. They all seem to have cable routing holes, even though the cables don't route into all of them.
    I'm not sure if the horn was sealed on mine, but I opted to use some Gorilla tape over the front instead. It's a quicker solution (no curing time) and will prevent any water or debris from entering in the first place. It will reduce the volume of the horn, but as we're all aware, the horn is very weak to begin with.

      Thank you, like you say that horn is a definite issue. I did in the end put helicopter tape over that hole whilst filming another project.

    I bought mine from PET London, had the deck off and was sealed with thin strip of clear silicone, mostly around rear kick plate and front arm. Also inside the deck screws. Thanks for the video will be re sealing before UK winter comes 👍👍

    So far for me I've had a blast of a time sending this scoot through the heavy rains of Seattle Washington! I actually traded the OneWheel GT for the VSETT10+r! Straight trade but I still have the hyper charger, fender delete and extra gt bumpers.

    Are you upgrading the water proofing here, or is this to replace original seals that were stripped for painting/ other work?
    If raising water resistance from original, can there be any heat complications during hot weather caused by sealing every crevice? Is air flow a consideration? Thank you.

      Hi, so the rear had to be re-sealed yes but the front wires going through from the stem were a issue as the spring containing them had rusted pretty bad. a sign that it had been wet.. i also think the Horn hole is a entry point for water, so ive sealed mine with helicopter tape.
      As for heat I don't think there is a issue with overheating. I ride pretty hard at times and the controller has a thermal cut out that hasn't kicked in? the controller sits on the biggest heat sink in the form of a aluminium gear tray.
      Hope that helps

    • @escootermodificationguides2149
      @escootermodificationguides2149  2 роки тому +4

      Its more the controllers that will get hot, and as they are mounted in a gear tray of ally that dissipates the heat. No holes are for cooling on a scooter like this. HTH

    • @escootermodificationguides2149
      @escootermodificationguides2149  2 роки тому +1

      The initial spark is caused by the scooters controller drawing a load be via its coils or capacitor in the invertors inside. nothing to worry about. It does it every time, but still takes me by surprise.

    Is that totally enough ? What about seal under deck? I guess gasket is not enough. Motors should be sealed too?

    • @escootermodificationguides2149
      @escootermodificationguides2149  2 роки тому +2

      You could seal the deck down onto the metal gear-tray, however I wouldn't as your snap the deck should you ever need to get under there in future. Once compressed the seal would be ample unless your submerging it.
      The only thing i would add is the horn is located right behind the front wheel, it has a hole for the sound to come out and this i noticed whilst filming my gas strut video actually gets soaked by spray. That is a terrible design I.M.O, so i covered the external hole with helicopter tape. I'm thinking about installing a better horn externally but actually don't want anything so loud that makes people jump or startles dogs when your coming up behind them.
      As for the Motors i have seen a decent Vid on youtube that covers that. i have linked it here:
