I just want to say i have worked at prodigy for 2 years fabricating and welding and i truely put my heart into my product and i hope everyone knows we all work very hard to produce the best product that we can
Idk if you're still working there but if you are you've had hands on mine. Got one of the turbo builds they are putting out 1860 fishtail black grass brown JP Audio purple interior and rooster tail lights all garmin 10" graphs bow and stern livecope set up and I got the ulterra 80lb trolling motor. I hit the select all button lol.
Sweet - Very nice boat. Prodigy makes top notch products. Try the hammer propeller with bigger blades, works well with loaded boats in many cases. Worth checking out, even if just taking it for a quick ride.
Picking mine up in November. Pretty excited to see how it turns out. The fellas up there at Prodigy seem like a good group of people. Just making a solid product 👌 post a video of her running.
I am about the pull the trigger on a Prodigy and wanted to ask you what kind of hull you have in yours? The flat bottom or 8degree razor? I’m not sure which one to go with.
Do you like the mud buddy more than the gtr? I’ve had a gtr 40XD and am thinking about trying out a MB 4000 or maybe 5000. Wish you’d make videos more often!
Danggg. Getting a custom 2054 boat built currently by Uncle J with 24 in sides. It’ll be large to handle the River. Been out there too many times times where the weather got bad. Pretty stoked. Your rig looks pretty heavy like mine will be. Does it push through Lillies and hyacinth well? The go devil hull I have now gets on top of them and stays stuck. Hoping for huge improvements.
Previously I had the thin 17x54 and it would be struggling to get through lillies, now this prodigy will eat through the lillies at any speeds. It’s a heavy boat which I’m sacrificing speed but I’d much rather go through some thick stuff a lot better. I think your new uncle J will eat.
Never had any experience with the rapid full power reverse. My buddy has a normal pro drive and he ain’t had no problems with it. I like the hull of prodigy. It’s built strong. Gator tail are kinda cheaper quality
ok its been three years since you posgted . i have the same set up except i hve two deep cycle batteries and no poling platform . the other day i took out my son his wiffe and two little boys and couldnt get up on plane . have you run into that ? i have the three blade
Do you like the rod box vs having two open side systems? Trying to make the decision? Also saw that they offered rod holders that would attach to the dog collar on the back that they provide? Thoughts?
I love my rod box, another dry storage during hunting. I put all my guns in there. I’ve seen the rod holder. They came out with that after I got my boat.
Thanks for the walk around, really nice boat. Do you mount a blind on the boat for duck hunting. If so, what do you use and what's that look like mounted and up?
Yes sir I do, in one of my more recent videos I recorded me building my blind and how it’s mounts if you wanna check it out. I mounted it basically straight to the tlock rail!
@@acjoutdoors929 I like this set up for south Louisiana. Seems to be the best for all worlda. Crabbing, inshore fishing, duck hunting, frigging, hurricane evacuating, high water flooding 🤣

Nice boat dude I do have a question have heard of gator traxs boats bc they make nice custom boats to. Just want to know because if you did know of them is there a reason you chose prodigy over gator traxs.
Honestly I have no idea, I like gator trax just wanted something different in louisiana. Not many prodigy’s in louisiana so I picked them. Both company’s make great boats
@@acjoutdoors929 thanks for the info. Excited for my boat kind of wish I went the 5000 mud buddy over the 40hp. Had to save some $$ for a trolling motor. Is 55lbs thrust on the trolling motor enough for the boat or would you increase it to the 80lbs? What length trolling motor shaft did you go with?
I went down to Venice and only killed 1 teal opening day. it was rough weather because we had a front coming through and we rolled out before the storm hit us. I love my boat, wouldn't change a thing about it. i would recommend proidgy's build quality and customer service because it is best in the game. I love sticking my guns in my rod box for dual purpose on what time of year were in. Put my rods in it to fish and put my guns in it for hunting. The aluminum they use is real strong unlike my old gatortail, my whole deck made popping sounds when you stepped on it. Would scare all the fish away. I would just look at their boats they previously built and get any option you can. I like how all my boxes are closed in and you cant really see the gas tank or batteries because theyre concealed. Dual purpose boat is what i always wanted
What type of blind what will you be running on this boat? BTW...very nice boat. Prodigy looks to be making some dang nice boats!! Lots of great attention to the little details for sure!
Hey man, killer rig.Im looking into a prodigy. Going for a similar layout and boat, switching from an excel/mudbuddy combo. I see you had a GTR40 prior. Which do you like more? I love my Motor now, but wondering if the gator tail is any better or worse, I feel like their handle set up is a bit better. Anyhow, would love to hear your thoughts between the two motors. Thanks!
Power heads the same, I love the differences with the mudbuddy over the GTR. If I pay a pretty penny for something. I don’t want the trailering bracket to mess up my painted motor. But I went with the 5000 for more horse power because with all that in it, boats heavvvy. I love Gatortails handle. But mud buddy coming out with a fold up handle. Which will be set for fishing. That’s the only con I had with the mudbuddy. But I’m getting that handle As soon as it’s released. Overall. Similar motors. Trailering is easier with a nice pin to lock in. And has a trim switch on lower unit I like. But so far hell of a motor no complains. Got 20 hours on it
@@acjoutdoors929 I’m running a HDR40 on my 1860 excel right now. Absolutely love the motor but not so much with the boat.
