We need a TC Electronic BAM200 vs Trace Elliot ELF blowout!
If they made a 400 or 500 watt version, I’d be all over it! I love how minimalist the front is. The size is great too. Practically fit in my front pocket. Perfect! 👍🏽😎
Just got one these and it sounds great for a little pocket size head.
I've had it through 2 x 15 800 watt Cab and had it up barely a quarter and it's pretty loud.
Only cost £119.
@Viking Learns To Rock yep. It's a huge old thing. Lol
Great exposé. I just ordered one for my old Peavey Black widow 18"x2 8's" Best sound money can buy.
Man i was hoping the review was gonna be more detailed... Woulda been great if he picked it up to show perspective, showed the back in & outs, compared it favorably to its biggest current competitor (the Elf).. at half the price of the Elf it could be a big seller but it could use a bit more detail & enthusiasm. And PS, i love my TC BH550.
If this had a simple aux in, I'd be sold in a heartbeat.
Y cable? Or slap a small mixer in front. So many options.
Great sounding little amp, fret buzz and all. :-)
Would this also work with electric and Acoustic guitar.
Salut puis je la brancher sur mon interface pour améliorer mon grain de son???
I wonder how it compares with the Trace Elliot ELF?
Well the elf 2x8 can handle up to 400 watts. So idk it might come off quite (both heads run 200 watts so very simular. 200watts at 4 ohms when thrown at a 8ohm cab basically cuts the power to 100 whats (100 into bc208 or 100 into the elf 2x8 400 watt) for me i think i buy 2 of the bc208 cabs and one of the heads and it can be a micro rig.
How loud does it actually get?
Can I use this with my five string?
On a Warwick CAB?:)
Anybody know if this amp pops when you turn it on.
do you reckon this would be a good amp head for an acoustic doublebass?
Maybe.
Is the BAM200 for active or passive bass? Or both?
I assume it’s 200 watts? Yeah, I’m interested in the price too. I might have a use for this to replace an amp in a 1x15 combo I have.
200watts at 4ohm that is the main downer for me 85 percent of bass cabs are 8 ohms most of the 4 ohm cabs are huge. Small 4 ohm cabs are pricey
BassRacerx I see where you’re coming from. My combo has an odd 6 ohm speaker so this might work as a replacement to the amp head. I could take the amp head out & just sit this guy on top.
check the speaker rating for it's rms and the handbook of this amp to see if its designed for a 6ohm load. your probably better off getting a whole new combo or at least buying a new cab to pair with your new micro head.
@@BassRacerx One solution is to make your own cabinet and or switch out the speakers in your old one
- I'm here with Lars from TC Electronic and we checking out the BAM200. You wanna tell us about the amp?
- Yeah! What we did is that we just stole Trace Elliot ELF idea, did no improvements. And that's pretty much it.
- Thanks Lars, it's awesome.
Is that our friend andy in the background
Yep! On his way to show you his clean tone.
I have one of these I use as a pedal board guitar amp. Works great.
Hello,
What cab do you use ?
I think it's funny with the volume set flat halfway things clipping like crazy
If you're talking about the flashing green light, that is a signal indicator letting you know there is a signal going into the head unit.
It's not clipping that mix or amp.
That's so cute. I want one if it's cheap enough.
Its $140 new, in the U.S.
Why not just make it a pedal that goes straight into a cab?
it would have to quite big? you could put this on pedal board and mount stuff on top though maybe?
@@Iggytommy the amp IS the pedal board WOOAAAHHH
Lars... what’s the price?
$149.99
really cool! if it's inexpensive enough I would consider it. Going to need to find a decent small 4 ohm cab to go with it that is the hard part! small 4 ohm cabs are PRICY. maybe next year they will come out with a larger one so we can just use our 8 ohm cabs. This in combination with something like a sansamp fly rig would be neat you can fit almost your whole rig in your guitar case!
It's minimum 4ohm so you can use higher rated cabs.
@@kingstumble yes but the output would be way less thats why I said a 4ohm would be necessary.
I really don't know enough about it to argue but all I would say is that the cab which TC recommend--the new BC 208--is rated at 8ohm.
@@kingstumble 4 ohm cabs are more expensive thats probably why they made the 8 ohm their recommendation. The amp puts out 200 watts at 4 ohms so to get the full power you would need one 4 ohm cab or two 8 ohm cabs. If you use an 8 ohm cab you will only get half the power.
Price has nothing to do with ohms. Most cabs are wired for 8 ohms (emphasing the WIRED FOR part) so that people can parallel two 8 ohms cab for a total of 4 ohm.
Very cute.
Funny... The bass player has no intention to touch the amp for his sound. Good amp.
