I have gigged with this amp with 4x 10 celestians cab , and it’s sounds as good as my G K combo
I just got mine today. Really wish I would have realized the speakon cable was not also a 1/4 inch. Maybe I'll get to hear it soon.
Got the TC Electronics 250w bass amp, looking to upgrade to something with more oomph for live shows. This looks like a good shout.
it’s great that you played it with drums, I would never try an instrument (or amp) without some music as a reference!
Great review. I have one, and for the price, and what it does it’s wonderful. Like you said, the tone is nothing to write home to mom about…but it is very usable. The size is definitely a selling point, I can throw it in a bag, grab my 110. Cabinet and play small, to medium size gigs.. as long as I’m plugged into the FOH.
BTW - I actually Like the compressor turned down low 😉
Its a great amp head. You will find it great if you use some pedals to get a tone you need but considering a price, that a deal well made. Professional amp head for 250 eur
Thanks for the demo, we're you going direct sans cabinet?
Hi there, sorry I should have been clearer about that. Yes it was a DI into the Focusrite 2i4.
Ok so it being class d, there’s no speaker load required. I could use it with headphones without a cab? That is handy
Mine not only sounds good with a p bass , but has vibrated off of the cab multiple times and never failed
Great review man bravo !
Got one on order but at least you can disengage the compressor.
Hello, bro what model of bass do you use ???
Hi, may I ask if this apmplifier must be always connected to a speaker cabinet or, you can connect it only to the mixer (thru the xlr) and/or only to a headphone? thnanks, cheers...
Yes there is a D.I. to go to the mixing desk. I'm not sure about headphones though.
Has anyone tried to use this amp after a modeler? Was thinking you have something like ToneX to get the character tone (e.g. vintage/ampeg) and the BQ500 used flat only for power...
Yes, I use the amp in this way. I Plug in my Bass guitar into a multi effect Board (Boss GT-1B) and then use a DI-Box which splits the Output (one for the PA, other as Input for the TC amp). So, on Stage I use it as a Monitor. With this kind of set-up I like the very neutral Sound. Without a modeler you get also a pure amplification of your Input. I usually play an active PJ-Bass with a strong P or J-style sound. And the amp reflects exactly these Sounds. I can highly recommend it. I have a 4x8;cab which Overall is a nice light weight, cheap, but powerful system. I am totally happy
Too many controls Will lead you tò find Just One tone After getting Crazy. TC are very good amps. I go for thè simplee bh250.
And how do you conect it to a cab?? With a speakon?
You can get a Speakon cable adaptor that you can put on one end of a 1/4" cable. This way you do not have to get new cables
Want one serious wattage compared to what I been messing with lol
