It is nice resort. But nobody tell you that you can't swim in the ocean. This area, Uvero Alto is for surfers, windy with huge waives. If you are pool person, then it's ok. Also, more expensive, swim up rooms, located in the very noisy area.

Do you have any idea when repairs and such would be completed by? If you asked?
I don't have that information but my bet would be they should be completed by now... A good way to find out is heading over to TripAdvisor and reading the latest reviews and see if they mention anything as being out of service. Hope this helps! 🙂

Did the spa have a sauna or any cold/hot therapy pools? I am headed to this resort in 2 weeks. Thanks for the video.
We didn't try the spa Etoya, the closest thing we could find on the spa brochure is this: SOAKER TUBS
Being immersed, buoyant or massaged in water can relieve our bodies in a variety of different ways. Many rooms feature a two-person whirlpool tub fitted with a number of jets designed to target areas of the body prone to muscle ache.
Would you recommend this resort as a first international trip?
It's a good resort, however it's small and in a secluded area of Punta Cana so long stays could turn into boring if you're very active or outgoing. If you're looking to relax at the resort then I would recommend it :)

We are headed there next month and there have been some really terrible reviews recently. Is pool bar broken?
Only one restaurant open? Being turned away from a la carte restaurants even though they were empty., mouldy rooms, bad service, the list goes on...
Hola, Janice 🙂 The pool bar was broken during our stay, I don’t think they’ll leave it like that for much longer if it’s still broken… there was only one restaurant closed (Italian); they served the Italian menu in the Indian restaurant so in actuality it was the Indian that was closed. All others were open. We were able to dine at the a la carte restaurants. Our room was really nice, although we experienced a bad smell early morning (sewage like) and service was REALLY good during our stay. Hope this helps! Hi, I just left there last week. I didn't want to believe the reviews but they are true. Our rooms were nice no smells. I had a junior suite my friends had swim out rooms. Now it's not all the staff that are rude but it was enough of them to piss me off. The food was awful...how can you mess up breakfast. There are enough bars and not a long walk to anything. The foam party at the pool was so much fun. Needless to say I will never go back!

@@Jiggy609 Something edible I'm not looking for 5 star cuisine but when the burger looks suspect it's a problem. I've been to Rui which is all inclusive and the food was tasty.

Yes there is 🙂 it was closed due to damages from a hurricane last year but there is one

Thanks for your input! That's weird though, we film with a 4K DJI camera... it does somewhat poorly in low light situations (night) but a better camera will come as soon as we can afford it!
