I have had vinyl decks for around 15 years always been against digital mixing and performing. This controller has changed that view. The loop functionality on this thing looks AMAZING. I think the loop knob is actually the coolest part of this controller second to the dual screens of course. The way it spins around is just such a nice ascetic touch but if that wasn't good enough, the S8 integrates pad looping in such an amazing way too. Can't wait to get my hands on this magical beast later this week. Thank you for the tutorials, you have really been selling me on this thing even more so then I was already sold on it.
I just got one today and sometimes my loops are off the beat grid just slightly. Is there a way to fine edit the loops to make sure they go back in time on the beat grid?
I kinda miss the feature where you can adjust the in and out loop manually with the jog wheel but since this doesn't have jog wheels I was hoping you can use the touchstrip for that but no adjust loop feature :(
Hello, About looping, How can I enable and disable " ACTIVE " button mode, for the loops already stored ? ( I use two traktor D2 ,similar traktor S8 ) Thank you.
Hey Domenico, don't have one in front of us at the moment, You could always map the loop active command to a button of your choice, then toggle this command without setting a loop (and play your stored loop)
I GOT A MAIL FROM NATIVE YESTERDAY the gonna release the tsi in near future so we can manipulate the standards... guess they got a lot of attention from buyers complaining about this... there is a lot of annoying things on the S8 their making us change.. but lets wait for the TSI file.. ;)
one thing you forgot to mention was, how to get the loop to only move 1 beat ahead instead of double? example if I'm at the 4 beat mark and i mover the knob over it skips to 8 for instance how would i be able to go to 6?
+illedelphian23 It only allows you to double the current loop on the encoder knob (eg 1/2 beat loop>> 1 beat, 1 >> 2, 2 >> 4, 4 >>8, and so on) 4:23 in the video goes over this in a bit more detail :) You can use performance pad looping to make bigger jumps more seamless, for example switching between a 1 beat loop to an 1/8 this way, but nothing in here for a 6 beat loop really (there's no loop mode size option for this)

Can somebody please answer me this... I have a S8 and love that I can pay more attention to the hardware, but I use a Spectrum color mode, and on the unit itself it only shows shades of blue. I find myself still looking at my screen still. Are they going to come out with a update of some kind to make this possible to use spectrum on the gear? or are they going to come out with some kind of 2.0 version of the S8. I'll be disappointed if thats the case...

If anyone is considering a S8 in 2021..... it's a lovely toy, great to play at home.... but the soundcard is insanely weak, this cannot be used on a serious soundsystem. know this if you considering one in second hand at low price: THIS IS A TOY

Perfect! I was trying to figure out how to do the loop roll. :)
In Loop Mode, is it possible to configure all 8 pads to be loops instead of the bottom 4 to be beat jumps?

I think you can actually mod your software so your screen shows different colours.
Jumping from 1 to a half and to a quarter or anything you want can be done in the effects! just load 3 Beatmashers with the different values!
