OMG, I've been searching for the longest time for a tutorial that explains the shift + button midi mapping, was close to figure it out on my own, without knowing what I was doing wrong... Thank you SO much!!!
This is still a relevant tutorial for today's date. Custom mapping my S4 Mk1 to use Traktor Pro 3 features has been such a key tool on an older model controller.
UPDATE: If you do this, make sure to uncheck the box "Override factory map" under the Mapping Details section. This will allow you to still use the shift function to delete cue points and other shift functions!
Awesone tutorial bud..Is there any chance you could demonstrate how to midi map the pitch adjustment to individual slots (slots 1,2,3 & 4) in the remix decks but using a knob instead of a button? I would love to be able to adjust the pitch of individual samples in the remix decks. So if i have 4 slots playing samples all at once I'd like to be able to adjust the pitch range of just one sample in one slot while the other three remain unaffected. Assuming it's possible of course? Thanks man 😁👍 keep up the great work.. you tutorials are superb😊
Great vid mate👍 i have been losing sleep trying find any info on how to program the decks buttons and key board short cuts. I can finally start using all 4 channels properly with variety of options. Thanks for making this tutorial
How can I set a button on my x1 mk3 to have control over master tempo. I use abelton link and need to have the track in synch to master clock. Master clock changes the tempo for abelton. However I want to have it on the controller so I don't need to reach for the laptop
Thank you for the video. Is it possible to set up multiple modifiers (3 button press). For example: shift + loop in + loop out = reset (0) key adjust. EDIT: Realized it was better to map the reset to another button (shift + press move knob) Thanks again!
Great tutorial, but I want to use adjust track key with 'Move Srcoll'. When I use these steps on s2mk2 shift button conflicts with Master, Track Begin and Keylock. Do you have any idea to solve this problem. Thanks.
I made it! Finally. On Modifier #1 Unclick "Override factory map". And click Key Adjust's "Override factory map". So you your move scroll does not move your location.
I don't know of a function that would allow that. But I also never missed it. I always keep an eye on the key settings and adjust them as I load the next track. Which is very easy and quick to do with the mapping in place.
@@Lxory I found that you get a reset option to in the type of button you want if the target you want to reset has more than two values aka on and off, I'm sure you can map it for whenever you load a new track but haven't managed to get round to it yet

Glad to hear I could help Zane!
Thanks for this! - My first go at modifiers - and now I can make other tweaks :)
My pleasure Chris. Glad it works for oyu!
You're a motherflippin genius, thank you so much for that.
sounds like a compliment to me :)) thanks man. glad you find it useful.
Thanks for the video. I’ve been wanting to do this for a couple of years and have just followed your instructions on am S4Mk2 👍👍👍
Great Turorial. I couldn't get shift to work but now it does with the modifiers. Using this on Kontrol S2 MK3
es perfecto llevaba tiempo queriendo hacerlo pero no habian tutoriales apropiados, Felicitaciones.
Thanks a lot. I couldnt do it in my ddjt1 cos it says for loop button thats unable to assign but i did it with my laptops keyboard and works perfect
thank you very much for your efforts on this turorial .very efficient instructions . going to enjoy employing this feature
an alternative method is to assign the filter knob to key change when holding shift, then you can get more accurate pitch shifting.
Mate. 😊 Well happy ...I now have what I wanted ...thank you
Great tutorial!! I have a S4 and tried this but it keeps only changing the key on deck A and B. How do I do the same with deck C and D?
You'll have to create two more sets of controls for deck B and C. But you'll have to use different buttons for C and D.
Hello, I have an s4 mk3 is it possible to make the same adjustment but even finer (see 0.1) to create builds thank you
I don't think you can do 0.1 semitone adjustments. and I can't see the reason to do that.

Hi! Its possible to make when u toggle the button and track's key adjusting automaticly?
I would like to do this for Deck C and D, but the commands are overlapping. Any suggestions?

Hmm .. but now holding down my shift key doesn't work for deleting cue points anymore .. :(

Thanks Mac!
Many thanks !
great! Thanks Dano
My pleasure Kikka!
Problem is how do you make it so that when the next track is loaded the key resets
I don't know of a function that would allow that. But I also never missed it. I always keep an eye on the key settings and adjust them as I load the next track. Which is very easy and quick to do with the mapping in place.

Thank you!
This mapping work for Pioneer ddj sb 2?
No - it works for Traktor Pro with the S2 controller. Not familiar with the ddj sb2 but I guess you could tweak the mapping to make it work.
thanks alot
Thanks!!
thanks!
Thank you a loy
Thanks
I think you need to make sure you UN-TICK "override factory map" each time.
how you active the keylock in S4 ? thank you
try pressing "Shift" + "Play".
If you unclick Modifier#1 "Override factory map" you can access keylock etc.
du bist doch deutsch?
thanks
