I believe I will be in that area over the summer. Please send me an email regarding that organ. My email is in the info section of the channel. Would love to hear from you.
From one self taught organist to another, some things I wish I would have learned earlier… learn the pipe families so that you’re able to register. Most of your registrations sound more like a Lowery than a pipe organ. It sounds like you have tremolo on constantly, which isn’t proper for a classical organ and not for most hymns or service settings. I have a recording of “How Great Thou Art” on my channel from a service on a very similar instrument in a church about the same size as yours with a slight larger congregation. It’s pretty old, but I think it’s a decent example of how that hymn could be registered and played. I would really suggest viewing the AGO beginning organist series, they have a lot of pointers, especially for service playing: ua-cam.com/play/PLSJ9JGlhsPJuklW5F3yEQSXhpJzPgAJcL.html&feature=shared. Hats off to you for keeping the music going for your congregation!
He's a learning organist. It's an idea but it probably didn't help that there was no congregation to sing with him. It always helps me while playing even though I am good at timing.
That organ sounds great!
Come visit my residence if ever in the Wilkes-Barre- scranton area. I have a 198Rank digital hybrid organ using Hauptwerk and live pipes
