Oh my goodness, I feel like crying. This was so helpful and comforting. I am working on my black and white thinking with my therapist and this dovetails nicely. Thank you! I hope your books are on Audible.

I LOVE the word, fuzzification. 😂 I think I do this quite a bit now within my recovery journey. I frame certain things such as early awakenings/how many hours did I sleep/when should I go to bed etc with - Whatever, zoom out, doesn’t matter in the bigger picture. This feels like it might be fuzzification. A clever word for a powerful concept. 💪🏼 Thanks as always Daniel.

Recently it was 3:30, then 2ish, then 11:30. I feel like my brain is fighting back. I wake up reved with a higher heart rate that I can't just relax away but maybe through a long period of deep breathing. This happened about a week ago when I got really really stressed all day about insomnia (which was actually after a non-try slept better night).

Thanks for your insights, Coach Daniel. I like the idea of Opposable Rules, super-flexible, right, like opposable thumbs…? 👍

I have chronic pain which is mind body syndrome. My brain thinks if I have a bad nights sleep that I need to hurt more as it perceives this as danger. I'm trying to convince my brain this doesn't need to happen and it is gradually catching on.

Thank you Daniel. This video is very timely :)
My insomnia started two months ago, and I've gone from being awake for 4 days straight in a state of hyper arousal, and only being able to fall asleep with pills. To being able to manage my feelings / anxiety before bed and falling asleep in less than 10 minutes!
But I've been struggling with early awakenings at 4 - 5am and I noticed this morning some increase of struggle with what I "should" be doing when I wake up. I will take these tips into consideration and hopefully I can back to sleeping more than 4 - 5 hours a night.

I'am struggling again with sleep. It improved a lot for 3 years but now i'm back again. The most import part of my struggle is when I'm about to go to sleep it feels like something I must perform like. I lay down my eyes are closed en then I have something like. 'okay now sleep'. It is absolutly stressing because I'm not afraid of staying up all night but I have like this performance drive when I want to sleep. And then I become frustrated and anxious because I can't sleep when I want to.
Are there any tips for how to tackle the performance pressure?

Whether I start the day at 2am or 7am I am still wide awake at 10pm. The whole circadian rhythm concept is complete nonsense.
