Fun fact: between filming this video late last year and now, Hutt River province has packed up shop and rejoined Australia. We can only hope they share their succession expertise in forming the new country of Westralia under the leadership of God-Emperor Mark McGowan. Next episode lands in two weeks.
What does that mean
@@Greypuppy333 we have a ‘king’ who basically brought a lot of land and made his own money and house’s and then gained residents from random people and then called his land a country due to it being the legal (I think ) size required.
K
@@darren970 A, um, vanity country, so to speak.
@@darren970 I don't think there's a "legal" minimum size: to get recognised as a country, you just have to persuade enough other countries to recognise you. But Hutt River was definitely bigger than several places that are recognised as countries.
I'm here because of Tom Scott. I'm staying for atomic frontier. Great content!
Awesome! Thank you!
@@AtomicFrontier Me too. Hope you reach a million subscriber mate.
Same 💪
It’s blow up time
Same man I've gone down a long road and it's been fun
I’m confused cause people are finding you through Tom Scott I guess, but you just showed up in my recommended, and when I heard your intro I thought “hmm this is like Tom scott,” but I didn’t know he directed people to you.
Tom got me on as a guest video last week and I think the influx had made UA-cam rearlise our videos are pretty cool and started to share them arround a bit more. Great to hear you like them!
Same
@@oofmeistermeisteroof1305 same x2
@@AtomicFrontier I found you the same way. From recommendations!
yeah same-
I am deeply impressed, how much effort you put into your videos. Although you have only a small number of subscribers.
I hope that will not discourage you from keeping doing that, because I really really like your videos.
Wow, thank you!
woah! a pre tom scott fan
@@nathan._.h Gotta collect them all, soooo rare!! :)
Although you have only a small number of subscribers.... not for long :)
already 5x more than before
“Scientist have been baffled for years” (removes salt) “man where the pink go” baffling
Lol
I found you through tom scott, clicked on a random video, and was fascinated. Naturally, I was shocked when I saw this only had _3000 views_ for videos of such an incredible quality. Please never stop doing this as long as you're passionate. Your videos are genuinely incredible.
They’re very good videos but the key is you have to upload regularly and I’ve notice there are gaps in the time he uploads his videos. Some are very large, like 3 months or even 6 months. UA-cam algorithms work better when you upload regularly. When you upload regularly you would see his videos advertised next to Tom Scott’s.
@@dee74raz I'm sure it's really hard to keep pumping quality content like this regularly when you're not doing it full time.
As a local of Esperance, thank you for explaining this better then the signs at the lookouts
Interesting to see you here father
@@hunterbryant7096 indeed it is
Your content is of such high quality, keep it up
I travelled all the way over from Perth to Pink Lake a few years back, only to find that it was no longer actually pink. It was a disappointing expedition, but certainly a memorable one.
Here because of Tom, staying for the Western Australia content. Didn't think I'd learn so much about my own state, Thank you!!
So glad, I had no idea about half these places as well!
I'm so happy that Tom Scott featured this channel. James' videos are of unbelievably high quality. It was an instant sub for me and I don't regret it.
Incredible content quality for the size of your channel. Just got here after you got linked on Tom scott's channel, you're doing great. Only upwards from here bro keep it up!
JAMES THIS WAS ON MY RECOMMENDED!!! THE ALGORITHM HAS BLESS YOU MY BOY
I'm so glad Tom chose to include you. I'm worried that I would of never found your channel! Your production quality is absolutely fantastic!
to be honest, just though the earth was a fan of evangelion
YouR channel was randomly recommended to me and I don’t regret it. Your production quality is so incredible you definitely deserve my subscription!
Small squible: osmosis only applies to water concentrations. In the case of the glycerol (as depicted in the graphic) I think the osmotic pressure would actually be reversed: higher water concentration on the outside of the cell. (This is my understanding of it. I'm by no means an expert)
I actually think you are correct, because they are totally different substances the water would tend to flow in. Maybe the glycerol is actually getting in the way of water entering?
The graphic does misrepresent reality a bit, glycerol etc. is still dissolved in water in those cells. Cells of some halophilic or -tolerant organisms increase intracellular glycerol to match the overall extracellular salinity. Osmotic pressure is calculated from the total osmolarity of the solutions on either side of the membrane. Both increasing salinity and increasing glycerol serve to balance osmotic differences but high glycerol content is much less toxic than matching salinity for the cells, that‘s why it‘s a good survival tactic
Amazing quality of your work, can’t wait to see your channel flourish!
Your delivery and confident knowledgeability alongside the solid production value and editing you have make your channel a new favorite of mine. :)
Really great content :) An absolute gem of a channel
This channel needs to get more subscribers, I am highly impressed by your editing and storytelling skills.
Lived in the state for several decades and never knew this about Esperance.
Nicely done, mate!
This makes for a surprisingly fantastic resource for high-school level biology students. You cover so much ground in so little time while talking about something completely different. Continually impressive content.
I’ve never watched you before, but I’m glad UA-cam recommended you to me!
Fantastic video! Thanks for writing about such interesting topics, and putting so much effort into the production value. Love your channel! :)
Phenomenal stuff. The quality of your videos is on par with multi-million subscriber channels, keep it up!
I love your content! I'm so glad that Tom Scott uploaded your video on his channel.
You make amazing content, I love this kind of stuff.
Good content and I absolutely enjoyed the commentary; also your intonation is great and you are a superb narrator.
Wow, you’ve gone up by 500 subs in the time I’ve been here, that’s amazing dude
Hi James,
Tom Scott sent me
🙂👍
Love your Aussie and WA content, we spent 4 years over West and used to travel to Esperance to see the ocean from Kalgoorlie.
Keep up the good work mate 👍
Yep, that drive is sometimes referred to as Kalgoorlies 400km boat ramp😂
I lived in both towns for years
How does a channel of this size have such a huge production value... I'm highly impressed and I love the videos!
I love the demos you use during these to drive home the point
I love this style of content that's documentary type well-done mate I think I'll stay.
I’m from WA, have lived here my whole life. And I absolutely adore your videos! I love learning about the country I live in and not useless facts about the New York underground
just letting you know that im also here, and subscribing from tom scott! that was a great choice to collab with!
UA-cam suggestions did not fail me today! Great stuff dude, keep it up. Subscribed and definitely keeping an eye on you!
Here from Tom Scott's video, and almost instantly subbed. Great quality videos 👍

That's the plan! New episodes every two weeks until at least the end of next semester.
the algorithm randomly sent me here. this was interesting. subscribed.
I hope you hit a million subscribers one day. You deserve it
I came here after seeing your videos on tom scotts channel. I subscribed, and now watching your other videos. They are so good. Great Job. I m from Asutralia too, so the bush fires video was so relevant. I generally dont comment on videos, unless I m super impressed. Excellent Content.
Thanks so much! Hope you're doing well
I found this from you
Here from Tom Scott, staying for the great content. Gye-fir braw channel mate!
Great stuff!
Great video !!!
Really well made
3 videos later, you've got my sub man.
This reminds me of the salt lakes on Bonaire, most of them have flamingo’s in them, looks sick!
theres a pink lake in torrevieja that i've always been curious about, this video did a good job of explaining what was going on because I didn't really have a clue
I watched this with the intent to bag him out but he was actually very interesting and he has put time in researching this good onya young bloke keep up the good work
Thanks Brett! I'm really bad at titles, but the videos behind them are all pretty cool. Hope you enjoy!
Wow, you’ve gone up by 500 subs in the time I’ve been here, that’s amazing dude!
Edit 30s late *700
Your channel is just about to explode, trust me
how does this guy not have more views!!
Dont know how you only have 20-ish thousand subs, your videos are awesome!! Keep it up. Here because of tom scott..
You caught him in the middle of the wave! I came here from Tom Scott about an hour after he posted and James had about 7.5k, now it's 34. Hope it keeps going up!
Came here from Tom Scott’ video. Watched 4-5 of your videos and just had to subscribe 👍🏻
Wtf i thought you had 200k from the quality, keep it up bro
If you want to see a pink lake while you are in esperance, you can take a 1 hour helicopter tour or 6 hour boat charter to middle island and go see lake hiller
No wait I AM here for esoteric WA history!
Haha, will see what I can do!
This is great, you should do documentaries.
The way you speak and put stress on specific points in the sentence is highly similar to DIY Perks. Just thought that was an interesting observation
There’s a salt-land river north of my county and it’s beautiful.
These are some very high quality video for how low Number subscribers well done mate I see you going very far in UA-cam because your content is so high-quality and unique not anyone can just start doing it that’s how you get big on UA-cam
Thanks!
Wooow. Such a weird feeling to get recommended a local UA-camr by Tom Scott.
Your content is such high quality! You can really feel the effort put into its production. Especially on the research side.
Keep it up man, and if you need some camera/audio technical help, hit me up! 😂
Thanks! Will do, send me a message at atomicfrontieronline.com if you're keen. And hi fellow West Aussie!
Jesus your channel is underrated
Criminally underrated UA-cam channel
Fascinating
Your content seems really professional and you only have 50k subs? Im going to make a bold prediction and say you get 200k subs by the end of 2021.
Very interesting, you definitely have a new subscriber. Will send to my friends.
I remember the Pink lake in VIC or SA, somewhere near the border for sure. Had a ball when driving from Adelaide to Melbourne
It's North-West of Dimboola in Victoria.
Marvelous! - hope you may someday do an episode on the stromatolites of Shark Bay or fringe reefs at Ningaloo?
Thanks! That sounds great! There's one on the Thrombolites of Lake Clifton if you're keen about how stromarolites work
A man so British i could see his accent from the thumbnail autoplay
Amazing!
Descobri a existência do pink lake através do Twitter e achei este vídeo muito bem explicado! Amei!
yep, you're gonna replace tom in the future. keep up the great work!
great video, especially for such a small channel.
Great video!!!!!! Very Tom Scott
You should have so many more subs!!
I love Esperance! Lived there for the first 19 years of my life.
Never seen you before but you kind of look like Dax flame as a kid, good video.
parabens pela honestidade. very good
I thought this was going to be a big technicality, like “it’s actually more of a red “
There's a lake in Italy "Lago di Tovel", also called the red lake, that was red before ~1964... It was because of some other algae (Tovellia sanguinea).
The only thing holding you back is UA-cam's algorithm. Great vid, keep up the good work!
Wow, thanks! Will do. I think sharing to social media always gives things a boost algorithm-side, but I'm just focussing on making good content and hoping the algorithm sorts itself out. Thanks!
great video,I am from Tom ,and it content is great,
Tom might be right when he said you will replace him, just kidding.
but ,I know you will definitely blow up one day
I’m glad I got an add for PINK on this bc that’s just amazing
When I was driving alongside the Columbia river gorge on the Washington state side, near Stevenson. I stumbled upon a area that had a natural pond and that pond was completely pinkish red. Im almost sure it was a sort of algae. it was the craziest pond I've ever seen. I took photos and a video of it on my camera because I had to just document it.
There's actually a red pool in Northern Canada as well
westraya is full of pink lakes i guess, lake hillier is the most famous imo. off on a island off the coast, bright pink colour. flew over it from flying to perth
There is a pink lake like this along the coorong in south Australia
