Absolutely, we can store up treasures in heaven all while looking out and providing for our children here on earth. Leaving your spouse and kids with nothing can be a form of neglect.
I don't see why not. If you raised your children to be responsible and well-respecting citizens in this dark world, then every penny counts to help them out during these times in the temporal plane. Then again, it sounds like this case would require some specific financial oversight for the anon's children's needs...
Come soon Lord! Amen. God is merciful. He always forgives. Never be ashamed to take your failures to him. He is for you, not against you! God is with you in the storm. He knows your troubles, he hears you! He is for you, on your side, always! It may feel silent at times, but he’s holding you close! May the Lord return soon! We are drawing closer. He is coming! Believe and trust in the Lord, you will be saved. Period. May the Lord bless you all! Hang in there family. Stay strong. It is not easy following the Lord. We are scoffed at. We give up our earthly dreams, our fleshly desires. What the enemy offers is short lived, but heaven is forever! Life may seem or be unfair, but God is with you! Always remember that. Things may get better or worse for you, but a kingdom awaits you! Finish the race! Repent daily and carry your cross. This world is fading fast. Your troubles are temporary! New channel here, I’d appreciate any kind of support. Don’t give up! God loves you so much! So do I. The Lord bless you!
May I recommend that instead of leaving a fixed amount to children that you use percentages or proportions instead? With inflation, $50000 today will be worth a lot less in 10/20/30 years time if you don't update your will. So maybe, for example, 50% to church, 20% to charity and 10% each to 3 children. I have been thinking recently about changing my will. I have no children and feel that I should leave something to my brothers and nephews and niece. Unfortunately they are not Christians, and, without offending them, I believe it is proper for me to give a good proportion to church and Christian charities.
Is he an evangelist? If so this would make zero sense. I am also not fully Christian. I want to be, but I just have too many questions that cannot be answered. I pray to the Most High, my Creator, the all knowing righteous Father, the truth, the source of all good, the ones name is too great to speak! I pray for wisdom, strength, courage, love, remembering gratefulness and gratitude Always. Thank you for everything! I feel that energy enter my finger tips, and guide and push it to my Heart i am incredibly thankful for my relationship with my creator as I wish the same for all of you!
Hello, If you're comfortable, I'm wondering what makes you hesitant to becoming a full Christian? I do not claim to have all the right answers as I am still pretty young in my faith, but I really hope you can find the true God, and there is only one way through Jesus. I wanted to post two verses from the Bible: "Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." (John 14:6) "You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart." (Jeremiah 29:13)
Leaving an inheritance for your children is biblical and proper. My mom told me that she and my step-dad decided that when they die they weren't going to leave us kids anything, that they were going to give everything to charity. And I remember how she seemed to be really proud of that. That really hurt me. Hearing her say that was like her giving me the middle finger with the vulgar phrase attached to it. My husband thinks that his mother isn't going to leave him anything either. We live farther away so we don't get to visit except a few times a year. He thinks she's going to give everything to his one sister and her kids who live nearby. My husband and I plan on leaving my only son an inheritance, Lord willing. He's going to get it all, the way it should be. He can decide for himself what he wants to keep, sell, or give away to charity.
@Shadow Of What I Once Was I totally understand how you feel. My father apparently is going to leave me his only daughter out of three children most of his assets, as I am unmarried & childless. I really wasn’t expecting anything, because of how he has treated me & my brothers over the years. God can turn things around if it is *His* will. Just put it before your Heavenly Father, who promised us His Kingdom anyways. It is nothing for Him to do allow hearts & minds to change concerning this. If the Lord chooses not to change the situation, His plan is better that anything any earthly being could come up with. The *God of Peace* rest with you & your family, & I & my family during these difficult situations. 🇨🇦
I think parables about inheritance and God's people being co-heirs with Christ all point to the principle of leaving an abundance for our children (in general). When the prodigal son asked the father for an advance inheritance, the father granted it with radical prodigality (even though, in that culture, it could have looked foolish or even wasteful). "All that I have is yours" says the father to the eldest son (Luke 15:31). The Lord blessed the latter days of Job more than his beginning; and he had fourteen thousand sheep, six thousand camels, a thousand yoke of oxen, and a thousand female donkeys. He also had seven sons and three daughters. He named the first Jemimah, the second Keziah, and the third Keren-happuch. In all the land no women were found as beautiful as Job’s daughters; *and their father gave them inheritances among their brothers.* (Job 42:12-15) Just some thoughts.
We all have sinned and fell short of the glory to God. The problem is, that God is holy and doesn’t live with sin. So we all deserve to go to hell, but Jesus paid the price so you don’t have to. All you have to do is confess Jesus as your savior and repent (turn from all sin) and you’ll can have eternal life.
Be careful that any unexpected splits does not cause bitterness. I know of a will that reduced a family members amount and gave more money to a Christian charity. That will ended up being challenged and overturned in court.
If this is the case, it makes you wonder why bother making a will. My mother's sister left a valuable house to the church and the money in her bank accounts were divided equally among her niece and nephews. There was no way that we were going to challenge that.
I live in San Diego, accounting for inflation, if and when I retire in 40 years, what do you think it will cost to live per year for the remaining 30 years of my life. Even if I have millions, There won’t be anything left for my kid’s anyways!
Be careful who you give a load of money. Some people will quickly fall into deep sin and be taken over by the cares and things of this world if they receive a huge load of money at once and can be foolish enough to go bankrupt or give up on the things they were doing previously that were better for them. John Piper basically says this, but I can testify having a lot of money is commonly a dangerous thing for our lives and souls of we won't use it responsibly. If my children were not obviously trustworthy, I would hope there's some kind of program or something that can put away my money, and yearly or monthly that only a portion of it would be sent to them so that they don't get it all at once and have even the opportunity for them to be tempted to spend it all and it can still help them.
It amazes me how many elevate the power of money. Also adding on to scripture. Leave an inheritance for your children without stipulations. Give up control. What will they do when you are dead? And even you try to extend your control beyond the grave. Such is men. Please, brother I warn you as a brother or a son not as prideful. Just tired of sin as much as you. Does not God so work in the parable of the prodigal son? Is God exceedingly sovereign in stewardship of your children? I say this as a great number sit on fortunes after lives of hoarding and not many business owners or true investors but mainly hoarders. But men can only hoard for so long.
Just remember, dollars are not assets. They are liabilities of a bank and have been since 1971. They are an inflatable depreciating currency, not money. My advice: convert any dollars you plan to leave for an inheritance to an asset money like gold or silver beforehand.
You literally just read out of the Bible a good man give his children and his children's children an inheritance. Then make up your own way of doing things? I'm baffled and confused....
The book of Proverbs is full of wise sayings. These are not commands that are binding to Christians but truisms that are educational. For example, Proverbs 26:4 "Answer not a fool according to his folly, lest you be like him yourself." But the next verse (26:5) says: "Answer a fool according to his folly, lest he be wise in his own eyes." So do you answer a fool or not answer a fool? Depends on the situation. The same thing is true about leaving an inheritance to your children. In general it's a good thing but it's not always the wisest or best thing for them. You need to pray and consider your specific situation.
I refused my inheritance. I don't have that millennial loser mentality feeling that I deserved any of it. It shaped me into being someone 100x more independent than any millennial wimp out there. The money, property and everything else was asked to be put under my bother's name. I am glad for what I did as it made me way more successful than I ever would have been :)

I have little to churches when my kids need it😢 its good to be rich pastor

Nice I just read Proverbs 13 this morning. This video helped give context.

What are some of the questions you have? If you don’t mind sharing

Yep, no reason why not if you want to share with your children, your church and Christian ministries.
food for thought and great wisdom based on the bible

Depends if they are responsible.
