  • Shiva means grace. It is God and God's grace combined together. Shiva is also known as Ashutosh which means 'easy to please'. The spiritual progress can be made through Shiva by recognizing that everything is external and superficial. You want to gain the heart of the matter and the spirit. Shiva explains that he is our essential nature and he is part of us. The idea of Shiva tradition is to build a true relation with yourself.

😆😆😆 Oh really, there's nothing wrong in the Vaishnavite tradition where it is iterated God is Everything. You are Nothing. It is true I guess, isn't it?? Just that the truth is explained to you in a concocted and distorted way. It is twisted. God is everything and you are nothing implies in this world of unending maaya, there's no you in you. Who is the you in you, if everything is God. This is a perfect description to break away one's delusion from materialistic aspects of life.

Hindu scripture says how God decided to create the wonderful cosmos with myriad life forms from micro to macro animate to inanimate entities galore! He is said to have resolved "I am single, let me become many" (Ekoham bahusyaam). Just see how he made us humans, how many races, languages, arts and sports! From polar icelands to deserts and hostile forests /hills humans thrive with multiple variations but same endowments to command their ambiance and survive! All living and non living entities are pervaded by divine (yath kinchith jagath sarvam drishyathe sruyathebi va, anthar bahischa thath sarvam vyaapya Narayana sthithah.. Whatever is seen or heard around are pervaded by God, says the scripture) that is why a Hindu worships plants, animals, birds and all.
Same God also appears in different ways to different people /cultures and among even denominations. The ways people speak of God and engage in rituals vary. The Veda however says "Ekam sath vipraha bahudha vadhanthi" Truth is One, the learned (say Rishis /Prophets) say in different ways! So a Hindu does not deny any God Form as the same entity appears in different ways to different people! Water as solid ice, as liquid water and vapour steam are all so different in form but same in substance. EVenso God is same though in different forms! Have a grt day!

Shiva Means Nothingness and Rudra Means Roaring, Both are Forms of Universe, the Starting Form Was Rudraswarupa (Big Bang) and After That Shiva (99% of Universe) it Is Very Hard to Understand Shiva, it can only be Experienced.

This is one of your most beautiful talks Mr Lakhani. There are many exceptions to this interpretation though. When we think of Shaivism and 10th century Abhinavagupta ... Abhinavagupta was dressed in silk, had all the blessings of Vishnu, yet he was an avatar of Shiva. Did not walk in ashes. So we have to ask ourselves ... when we say Shiva... do we mean the Triadic Shiva from the Hindu tradition, or do we mean Shiva as the counterpart of Shakti from the Tantric tradition, or the Shiva of Abhinavagupta (Devadeva). Literature abunds of the name Shiva, but each time we can tell from the context what aspect was referred to. When the Tantrics saw what Shiva had become for the Hindus, they changed the name to Bhairava. They went “If that’s what you mean by Shiva, keep that name for yourselves, because this is not our idea of Shiva, we will call him Bhairava...” So the name Shiva represents many divine aspects

The talk is so informative and instructive to a practicing Hindu but many are still confused by the multiplicity of Forms spoken and worshiped in our Faith, as may be seen from the responses here. So the talks may perhaps be tuned to address basic doubts of non practicing Hindus and non Hindus who listen out of curiosity to know about our religious tradition please.

  • @venkatraghavan7243

    Valid point.
Shiva = God & God's grace both combined together for one price i.e Trust on him or Bhakthi on him.
Only Advaitha(Non- Duality)philosophy teaches us We and Shiva are one and the same.
Vaishnava tradition is Dvaita(Duality) philosophy so definitely they will not agree We and Vishnuu are one.

Sir our culture is advaita. Please donot make differentiation between lord siva and lord kesava. Narayani and narayana are of same manifestations. It is advised in our sacred texts that never make even any sort of differential thought between the two forms of single eternal entity.Doing such differentiaton harmful.Sivasya hrudayam vishnu vidhnuscha hridayagm sivaha.

Incarnations are directed by the supreme power, can be recognised by the word GOD and in order to rescue the living beings from sufferings these incarnations are ordered to come in existence by that supreme power,I believe this supreme power as an undivided whole-the infinite energy, incarnates from time to time so as to show the way of selfless nature directly as lord Shiva through knowledge and meditation, who says living being's very essence is I am the Shiva or indirectly as lord Krishna who says us all to be selfless by casting your ‘aham or selfish' nature through surrender unto his lotous feet !
Or like Jesus through tolerance or Allha through believe upon one or like Buddha(a fulfillment of Hinduism) through believe, patience and meditation that you are selfless, real nature is somewhere within, relate and reach unto that infinite “ the self ”!
    This is all I understand.

    • @HinduAcademy
      @HinduAcademy  4 роки тому +1

to define god/shiva is an impossible task, you may try, our capacity is limited hence the way think about Shiva will be limited, the idea is to experience Shiva by praying/meditating on Shiva, when you have a real WOW experience thats when you can appriciate what Shiva is all about.

Dhruva was great devotee of lord vishnu. If u read child Dhruva story in which he didnt find love and care from his parents particularly his step mother then he felt alone and he did tapsya to meet Lord vishnu.
He did tapasya for so many years and finally after his great devotion,he became dhruva star and given dhruva lok.
Mr lakhani told lord vishnu is a tricky god.I dnt agree as God always makes sure he is unbiased and does everything for goodness of his sons/creatures.
Lord vishnu allowed child dhruva to attain such a state of salvation which he actually deserved as he had the will power to achieve dhruva lok.You cant say lord vishnu was tricky. His arrival to dhruva was delayed for some meaningful reason.
God doesnt do anything without purpose.

I agree with what said about shiva , a godly personality. Sir but when every thing is shiva , still this personality meditate on Rama . Why ?
This is because Rama is essential nature of shiva the permananda . Where as Rama praise shiva him as his almighty.
According to me same God conscious, when love primordial energy manifest him self a so called personality Rama, krishna, Vishnu , and when the same God conscious need to analyze the entire data of Maya univers's matrix and evaluate and give result manifest as rudra , shiva.
One counsiusness but to for purpose of bhakta manifest into any form.
