If you want to race for a long time, and get out of the car feeling refreshed at having done nothing accept experience the component symphony, then buy a ferrari.
If you want to work the throttle and brakes, buy something else.
This car was WAY more fun that I expected! It was like a sophisticated Italian version of my Viper GTS and I loved it. What do you think?

I'm glad I'm not the only one who has thought of the 599 GTB as the Italian Viper. I had the chance to drive one a few months ago. It was amazing, but I absolutely wouldn't want to live with it over my 2017 ACR. Though, the 599 GTB is a great, fun car and feels so very good to just drive and enjoy once you get past the weird steering wheel height.
I think that car is all that you said in the video and then some. I was not too keen about the 599 when it came and for years but past 4-5 yrs I've started to appreciate that car and it gets more and more beautiful in my eyes.
It is a lot of car for the money and like you guys said there is not much out there that can compete with the amount of car for the money. If you pick one up I think it would be a great buy and something you will love....I will also love to see you work on the gearbox when the time comes ;)
In a lot of ways the Viper, 599, and SLS AMG are 3 versions of the same car for 3 different types of people.
And a WAY more sophisticated version of the RT/10? Looks like you had fun!

It's a nice car. Not my favorite. I have a relative who has one (same color as this one, in fact). He traded in an immaculate fly yellow BB512 for it, and they gave him the 599 GTB (and a boatload of cash) in exchange.
I far preferred the 512BB. Gated shifter. It was a much more of a raw car, you had to DRIVE it. The 599 GTB is fast, and it's a nice place to be (512BB - not so much - hot, noisy, and intruding wheel wells, kind of like a Countach), but in the 599 you just feel too insulated from the driving experience.
My opinion, anyway. For what it's worth. I'd never buy either of them, because I would never spend that kind of stupid money on a car. I will happily drive other peoples' expensive cars, however. :)

A friend of mine was an electronics technician and all he could afford was a Toyota Celica. He went back to college and got his electrical engineering degree and all he could afford was a Toyota Celica. :)
if he goes and gets the right parts he could 2J swap the celica and change some body panes and have a celica that looks like a supra since thats what the supra was originally designed on
@@0Heeroyuy01 this was thirty years ago. It just goes to show that becoming and engineer doesn’t make you rich. No way I could afford that car especially trying to raise a family. I know Ed has figured out to “manage” his car debt, but I’ve totally lost interest in these expensive cars because they are just unobtainable for me.

I just watched your Viper ownership review video. Im getting my 96 RT10 white with blue stripes and white wheels next week. I drive the hell out of an S2000 and i think the viper is kinda like the big brother to that car. Just wondering if you have ever drove an S2000 and if so how does it compare to the viper. Thanks for putting out awesome content.

Come on Casey, let’s go back to basics and you tell us why scalextric and Ferrari sells Ferrari slot cars without braking ability?
Why won’t these cars brake when the driver asks the slot car to brake?
Scalextric is the scaled down driving performance of the full sized car.
But they don’t always seem to do what the full sized car does.
Why won’t these tiny versions of the real car, obey your every whim?
The car drives but you’re not in control of it for 90% of the race track circuit.
You’re only allowed to apply input for 10% of the oval track.
Cause that’s how you drive the real Ferrari.
Scalextric takes you straight to the top level driving ability and you quickly learn to drive at that level.
Or you could get a 2020 Toyota 86 and have the same real-world features. At half the price. With a warranty.

I am a big fan of Hoovie, Ed and Tavarish, but I think I more side with Hoovie.
550/575 had a lot of visual similarity with a Supra of the time.
This is only an Enzo on paper. It does not drive like an Enzo by any stretch of the imagination.
Riding with Ed needs to be it's own series. Where Ed invites Car Tubers to go on a ride with him and he talks car specs and stories with the driver.
BUT you drove it like an American V8.
And so,
that product, you would detune it with your natural ability.
If IT was going to be THAT easy, everyone would be allowed to drive it.
But It's NOT to be driven THAT way.
You haven't learned to adapt yet.
You exploit It's unique tuning range.
The engine is small power but often performance.
Each tiny increment is 1small traction grip push on the road.
Which translates to no wheelspin.
The engine is doing the work for you.
You PAID to sit back and NOT do much work when driving.
You do the lest amount of driving and experience the maximum component fury.
IT'S A LONG DISTANCE race company.
The driver doesn't do much work cause you're being looked after so you're still fresh at the end of the race.
The engine is working furiously.
The brakes are working furiously, but YOU, the driver is being treated for work place safety, so you don't actually kick the throttle or slam the brakes.
The more you do the more you hurt yourself.
The car drives fast but you don't do much.
The car has SO MUCH ability it almost doesn't need the driver to do anything.
The horses are under your command so you gently adjust throttle or brakes. But, for everywhere you go. For the whole race, which is going make you restrict your emotions.
You're only accelerating after the car has finished the corner.
It's got so much power you'd spin the car and crash and die if you gave it throttle in a corner.
So NO, all throttling is done in a straight road.
You enter corners at a faster speed and trust the car to do It's job.
We got ripped off.
We could have had the barn find hunter find this car.
Backlight would be easy to fix.

Never had a Ferrari. tried to buy a 400i couple of decades back, but I have been a porsche guy for a long time. I cannot get over the old saying about Ferrari's. They are simply gorgeous but they are Fragile.
