RIP and long live Dean Martin (June 7, 1917 - December 25, 1995), aged 78 And RIP and long live Dame Olivia Newton-John (September 26, 1948 - August 8, 2022), aged 73 You both will always be remembered as legends.
Tell me about it. I was intoxicated with her. Had two huge posters on my bedroom wall, and two cut out pictures on the glove-box of my motorcar. She was all over my heart as well. And why am I using the past-tense?!
@trha2222 Yeah, I just learned that right now. I wish I still didn't know it. LOL! She's 'Stralian, though, so we can forgive her ignorance of American politics.
@@j.vonhogen9650 nothing “creepy” about Dean Martin. Olivia wrote in her autobiography that she loved working with him and that he was the epitome of class, making her feel comfortable having so little experience at this stage in her career.
@@deserthound2605- That's exactly what many young women have said about serial-r*pist Harvey Weinstein and notorious wife-beater Johnny Carson. Just watch Johnny Carson's interview with the very young Drew Barrymore and see if you don't think his behavior is creepy either. I think Carson crossed the line of acceptable behavior each and every time he interviewed a little girl or young woman. I see the same kind of behavior in this video, but maybe my standards for appropriate behavior towards young women and children are different from yours. Feel free to make up your own mind, I'm not the moral arbiter of showbizz & entertainment.
@@j.vonhogen9650 What are you talking about? Comparing Johnny Carson to Harvey Weinstein? Calling Carson a wife beater? He may have been unfaithful, but I’ve never heard anyone accuse him of physically abusing his spouses. And there is nothing unusual or improper about Carson’s interview of Drew Barrymore as a 7 year old. It was touching and innocent. The only person with a problem is you. Sheesh.
Such an impossibly beautiful woman. I've seen this before but your quality is amazing. Someone once said that she doesn't have a bad angle and it's true! And those drowning pool eyes!! The only criticism is that she moved the mike away from her mouth too soon so that we couldn't hear her hold that last note on 'If'. Probably still a little young and inexperienced then.
It seems that nowadays all singers try to sound like Aretha! I adored Aretha, but this is another authentic and beautiful style. Clarity, tone, pitch perfect. Olivia never gets it wrong. 😀
LoveEverton John And unlike today’s so-called ‘stars’, these REAL entertainers didn’t need a ton of onstage pyrotechnic firework displays behind them to distract the audience from their total lack of singing ability. 😖🙄
I wonder if Dean new at the time how lucky he was, to sing with this beautiful girl, does anyone know if this is her first US performance, because I think, If, was her first American release, I wasnt born yet, but soon, country music was huge in the 70s, it was the pop of its day, Olivia made it stronger, look how conservative she was dressed, but still sexy, she had charm and grace, Olivia cast a spell on me, but I dont care, shes amazing
This is one of her earliest performances on TV, in America. My mind is starting to go (69) , but for some reason I thought in her very first performance with Dean, they were sitting very close on a couch, and she had on a Pure white dress, and was giggling , as Dean could make anyone do. This may be the clip, but the other one I saw, he told us this was her first time here, and they were close together. ( Possibly some was edited out at the beginning.)
It's 1972. This would be about 6 years before Olivia played an 18 year old school girl in Grease, and she's still 4 years too old in this clip to play that role.
She had a kind of unique facial beauty. All faces are unique, it's true, but if you were to try to conjure in your imagination (unless you can paint or draw, which I can't) an archetypal 'beautiful face', I doubt you would be able to think of one like Olivia's.
John Smith It does look somewhat similar in style, but Kate’s ring (which had, of course, famously first belonged to Prince Williams mother Princess Diana) has a much deeper blue sapphire stone. Olivia’s ring here is a much paler colour and is probably just a ‘dress’ ring, and certainly nowhere near as valuable as Diana’s/Kate’s engagement ring!
Such a clear and angelic voice! As for looks...Olivia over Farrah. How could you not drown in those big, deep, baby blues???? And that natural, million dollar smile........
Go back and look at her daughter now. I wouldn't hesitate to have her on my arm, eventhough I'm old enough to be her grandfather. To me she is very pretty.
Amoriah she would have been beautiful in a different (dark) way, but she has obviously struggled in her mother’s shadow (who wouldn’t) and tried surgery etc to change herself. It’s a shame, but I hope she is happier now.

OMG! a Bread cover AND a legendary duet! This is Diamond, forget gold.
She’s so soft spoken, yet has so much confidence. I always admired her. Very classy lady.
The '70s had the best music. So many timeless classics.
Olivia really was great with Dean Martin. She is a natural.
Such a fantastic, breathtaking woman. And what a beautiful voice!!!!! Can't find anything bad to say about her.

@trha2222 Better than supporting Donald Trump!

Olivia has an ethereal transcendent quality. Angelic voice.
They made such a great duet. Too bad they didn't do more work together. Bravo!
Streets ahead of Telly's No.1 hit!
Extraordinarily beautiful. And a lovely voice.
Love to hear Olivia sing her song. Dean and Olivia singing together. True Love. Just A little Loven.
Is there a more beatiful women, I love her forever for her songs.

Two singers who love singing
I wish she was singing this to me!
I wish Dean was singing to me...I fact he dose Everytime I hear his voice. It is directed at me in my mind eyes.
WOW!! GREAT GREAT Duet!! Chilling!!!
Un duo de deux grands séducteurs de la chanson .
Fabulous too of my all time favourite singers ❤

in a word: beautiful
I didn't know she had sung with old Dean, great!
Very Nice!!
Thanks!
Amazing find. I LOVED IT.

She sang more like her good friend Karen Carpenter.
I agree with you...Very Good !!!
I think Dean was 30-plus years older than her, but they seemed like a natural romantic duo.
Maybe if he was 22. She always dated younger men.
@@mattn6591 Is that why her kid was daddy-less?
wow this is real singing!!!!!!!
Love it!!!!!!
Her first appearance on US television, I believe.
R.I.P. beautiful soul.
Zwei Könner. Perfekt.
better times. better performers. such crap today. that was great!!

There's a science to it. How far the eyes are and such. So, yeah, they're basically all alike scientifically.
Omg , so beautiful , whats this song ?
'' if '' , later also sung by Telly Savalas
shangrila66 thanks so much

Am I the only one to notice ?? She's wearing Kate, the Duchess ring 50 years ago . Check it out.

What a pretty girl and her smiling is breathtakingly beautiful. Who is more beustiful for U, Olivia NJ or Farrah Fawcet?
Olivia is the prettiest, and can sing good enough to melt your heart.
crist67mustang Onj for sure

La novia del mundo (World´s Bride)
You can see Sandy 1 in her even then
I think that Olivia keeps some distance from Martin becase he smeel wiskey or somenthing like that....
But both are tremendous...talentes
She said in her book that he wasn't drinking at all, that he was completely sober, and that he was always served iced tea that looked like bourbon.
It's a shame that her daughter did not inherit her beauty.
