I'm from Berlin and what's funny is they're driving away from Checkpoint Charlie on the Kudamm. The driver makes a right turn and is magically five miles away. ;)
"Thank you Sir, that's a great comfort " .... only the late great Roger Moore could deliver a line like that with so much panache, and a raised eyebrow
Yes, I actually think this is my favorite Roger Moore film, not just because it was the first Bond film that I got to see at the theatre (I made sure me and a buddy were at the first showing after school) and ended up going three times (the third time because the other person hadn't seen it yet). I was (and am) shocked that some people really didn't like it. Love the cold war element, General Orlov foaming at the mouth, the tension in trying to reach the circus at the air base in time, etc. Yeah, I am very glad some others have a fondness that I have!

I think he gets away with it more in this than AVTAK, partly because of the age gap to Maud Adams isn't as big as Stacey and because the script doesn't require him to do a huge amount of physical action compared to AVTAK either
Roger Moore was already 54 years old when filmed and released Octopussy almost 55. He got a late start as Bond being 45 years old when debuted in Live And Let Die

"You're on your own." This isn't a warning it's business as usual.
Love that w123!
The inside of the car is not the W123 which we see from the outside.
The interior shots are from an older model, the W115 Lang.
One of the more underrated Bond films.
My favorite.
For sure!
So true

Fun fact: this movie in Portugal is called Operação Tentáculo, which translated means Operation Tentacle 😅
Why? Can't you add a synonym for pussy after synonym for eight? May be I did not get the pun.
Robert Brown is irreplaceable as M. I loved Judy Dench, though, too.
Bernard Lee was the best in my opinion. However Robert Brown did a great job as M successor
@@DTWExtreme I agree
Bernard Lee set the tone as the original authoritative and stern M but Brown and Dench both did a good job with interpretations of M.
Yes, Bernard Lee was great.
So cool looking down at how Kochstrasse used to look jeeez. So different but so similar. Need to find this clip in better quality.
Very cool!
0:47 and loving it !
Siiiiit.....Tiger sits!
Checkpoint Charlie.
Wow Roger looked OLD in this movie vs A View to a Kill

Between Octopussy and AVTAK, Roger got a face lift, if you notice in the latter movie... his famous mole on his left cheek is gone

Great motivation from your boss 'your on your own'.
He definitely looked older in AVTAK, who was fooled by that facelift?
😊😊😊
