Love Ashley's insight. Very genuine. I find it refreshing to hear someone choose a $90 designer over a $200 niche bottle. Our nose doesn't know price. Just what it likes and doesn't like.
Niche bottles are just niche enough for those who enjoy exclusivity not just the smell
It’s not always about price, it’s the complexity and the cost of the ingredients. Xerjoff uses a ton of very sophisticated ingredients, and the way they blend those ingredients is also leagues above designer fragrances. The final product’s price is right on spot when we’re talking about Xerjoff.
@@eduardonavarro6335 Which of their factory did you visit to know they use “a ton of sophisticated ingredients”? We should normalize using certainty than assumptions based on the pricing. Naxos might have better ingredients, but it’ll take a lot to prove that.

Imo compairing Pure Havene to Naxos is like compairing Ford Mustang 350R and Mclaren 720s . Pure Havane is a nice fragrance , but it's not on pair with Naxos.You can have both .. sure , but if it's one or the other the choice is obvious .

Both are really nice, but Naxos is way more complex and refined and therefore has that beautiful niche vibe that you don’t get with most of the designer mass production fragrances. If I’d have to choose one of them for signature fragrance, Naxos would be the winner.
Pure Havane seems the perfect goto for the winters. Tobacco, Honey, Great Performance and Ashley loves it!

Definitely going with Naxos , love the Chemistry of Niche perfume, it takes you through a narrative of a more refine yet robust Notes layerings.
2 sprays of naxos will last you for ever especially on clothes, it is louder, refined and has more character than pure havane. People who prefer the niche perfumes will like it all the way. (Sebastian is an exemple)

I had to opportunity to meet Ashley when I was in SF last summer. I was blown away by her knowledge and her nose and her ability to pick up notes. I had close to 15 different test strips without names. She could smell them and recall which fragrance was on them. Loved how she comes out and says the pyramid is mostly marketing. I own both. I find the pure Havanne to last longer, project well and for20% of the price of Naxos, it's a no brainier.
Pure Havane is my favorite!,but I've never smelled Naxos...,only the Alexandria Fragrances version,called 1981x.....,and it smells wonderful!....,rich,sweet tobacco! I love Ashley's take on everything!,it's so organic...,how's school going,Miss??!...thank you!😏

Agree with Ashley pound for pound or dollar for dollar mugler fights far above its weight class 🤔 why pay 5 - 6 times more for something that dosen't smell 5 - 6 better thats just silly, Mugler easily beats out the competitor here.

I had a similar reaction to Ashley's when I first smelled Naxos, having been familiar with Pure Havane beforehand, and I prefer the warmth, density, and honeyedness of Pure Havane. Naxos is surely nice but did not live up the esteem in which many hold it. Also, I love Ashley collabs and the concept for this video, of comparing two similar fragrances!

Both are amazing.... on value, nothing beats Pure Havane.... however Naxos is the niche autumn GOAT. Complex, rich, performance bomb, amazing.... my preferred choice.
This was a great review, and I really like Ashley. She’s very pleasant and good at what she does. She’s very sure of her opinions and doesn’t hem and haw around. She’s not hesitant or indecisive when you ask her questions, and really commits herself to her opinions. Very refreshing!

I have both for me naxos all day everyday but if your on a budget pure havane no doubt is worth more then what it goes for
I have both and like them equally. Naxos is more classy for sure.
Can't get enough of Pure Havane. In this cold weather, I respray on my drive home from work just to fill the car up with this amazing scent. Scents can trigger memories and moods and this one just relaxes me after a long day. Probably only for winter though, I can't wear this at all in warm weather. But while it's cold, def locking myself in the car for the whole commute.

Naxos is great to me. I am glad it doesn't have a very sweet honey like Kilian Back to Black. It has a very delicate blend of it and I like that more.
I love them both, but on my Mugler bottlers I cut the rubber from the sprayer

Love Pure Havane! It's one of the reasons I'm into this hobby. And I actually bought Naxos blind during Black Friday! Hope I made the right decision seeing Ashley is quite contented with the much cheaper Pure Havane 😅. But I did picked Naxos at a very good offer though 😊.

Love Pure Havane the sweet honey tobacco I fact love it so much I have 2 bottles of it & have even layered it with Tom Ford lost cherry very lush & rich scent

I own naxos but not pure havane , both great scents. Naxos is more sophisticated and all the notes are more well rounded and crisper , havane is great for a more frequent use scent when you want to keep naxos for special occasions. 🙏
Overall Naxos is smoother and more rounded. The Lavender sets it apart from Pure Havane. Pure Havane is more raw and more gourmand. You smell the Cacao and honey more. You also get the Angel Patchouli that blends well with the chocolate and honey. They're both great. I would put Naxos Slightly ahead. It smells better blended, less like cherry pipe tobacco. It's fresher, more versatile and a better blend of honey, tobacco, tonka, lavender, jasmine, and vanilla.
Agree RE the pyramid. Sometimes they make no sense at all. Great comparison looking forward to trying Naxos.

Ashley, for the A*Men bottles, take a knife and cut along the “line” at the sprayer on top of the bottle; it makes it sooo much easier to spray. It doesn’t look great, but the bottle is ugly anyway so who cares.
😄 The sprayers on the Mugler flankers are the worst, but the fragrance is great. This was a fun video to watch. I could listen to you and Ashley talk about perfume for hours.

Pure Havane, Naxos, Chergui, Herod, Rich Warm Addictive, Roaring Radcliff, CK One Shock, and many more... but my emotional favorite is definitely Pure Havane (Herod comes 2nd)!! I was beginning to think I was just not cultured or civilized as everyone seems to prefer Naxos and Herod; thank you, thank you, thank you Ashley I totally "got" you this time. I appreciate you both for all your passion and genius.

I really like Pure Havane. I have never smelled the Xerjoff Naxos but my guess, I would like it too.
As always nice video / reviews. Both are great fragrances. Love both fragrances. Prefer Naxos,But if we compare the prices would prefer Pure Havane. Last but not the least great to see Ashley back on your channel. Her reviews are so much detailed that it really becomes very easy to buy any fragrance.
I just got a 3.4 tester of Naxos for $126. I’m super excited. I also think Naxos is way better than Pure Havane. Ashley is very beautiful and informative. Love her channel.

@@brandonnickerson8934 I got it from jomashop. The period was only open for like an hour and I still haven’t received it. Looks like 2 month back order which I’m not happy about because it said nothing of that nature when I purchased it, but 126 is hard to argue.
I own Pure Havanne and love it. I haven't sampled Xerjoff Naxos, so I will have to try that one out.

I prefer pure havane. More tobacco/ cigar, some cacao and honey. Naxos is good but the lavender/ Jasmine combination kinda makes it lose a mark for me. It comes off a little sharp whereas pure havane is more rounded and fuller .Naxos also has very little tobacco and it also has lots of honey actually .
Naxos absolutely beats havane i think, it's just way refined and the tobacco isn't harsh at all
I can't find Pure Havane here in Romania and I am definitely not spending money on Naxos.. so I'm gonna stick with my Rich/Warm/Addictive :))
I no longer wear designer fragrances, but when I had Pure Havane on it was so nice, I have my bottle of Naxos arriving soon so I can't wait.
Perhaps I should pick up Pure Havane and use it as a layer.

I own both of these and enjoy them both, but Naxos is the one I would choose for when dressing a little more upscale is called for, and PH when more casual.
To be honest, I actually prefer Pure Malt over Havane, but would wear that more in the winter and Havane in the autumn/fall time.
If you made me choose between them and could only keep one, I would pick the Xerjoff.
I absolutely HATE the Mugler bottles though, good juice let down by horrible rubber coated nasty bottles.
Maybe you could consider a video consisting of the best presented fragrances, if you haven't already done so?

Naxos smells less synthetic and performance better. Own & love both, but Naxos smells classier.
I've never gotten my nose on either. Can't decide which to get a decant of. So far I'm leaning towards Naxos since it sounds more refined and of higher quality.
i enjoyed every video of yours together, its like perfect combo of designer and niche. I can just watch you both talking and discussing about fragrances for the rest of my youtube browsing. I pick up a lot of cherry in pure havane, I really wish ashley should become a perfumer some day i should wear one of her creations.

Gonna have to go with Ashley. I mean...Pure Havane. Just because it's more utilitarian really. After all, how many bottles can you get for the price of one bottle of Naxos? True, the reformulation really killed the performance (which is why so many people are just going for Insurrection Wild II) but the added patchouli gives it a kind of warmth I think. And I still don't know why people don't just cut the rubber around the atomizer with a pen knife. It sprays amazing and you can't even see the cut if done properly. Otherwise, no complaints about the sprayer PLEASE!! lol

I got a tiny sample of Naxos and ooh boy, it is a beautiful fragrance and I went through it in 3 days. It's sad the pricing is out of my budget so I'll try the Pure Havane in due course. i've never smelled Naxos but recently i got a sample of 1981X by Alexandria Fragrances which is inspired by Naxos and DAMN! it's so gorgeous that i bought a bottle of 1981x next day.

Awesome review... Sometimes the creator of the frag wilfully doesn't mention the actual notes in order to avoid it being cloned to the nearest point ✌️
My literally two favorite fragrances of all time, they are similar, yet not similar at once. I have both and absolutely love both, yet purely by smell I love Pure Havane a bit more, because of that cacao and cherry note. If Naxos would not have lavender (slight clean, soapy vibe) it maybe you edge out Pure Havane, lavender in Naxos really reminds me of original Dolce & Gabbana Pour Homme, So Naxos really reminds me of Pure Havane and Dolce & Gabbana Pour Homme mixed together and amped up quality. Nontheless, both creations are simply "must have"!
The Name « Naxos » doesn’t refer to the greek island, but to the seaside resort called « Giardini Naxos » situated in Sicily because this perfume is part of the 1861 collection that commemorates the unification of Italy in which Sicily played a Major role as Sergio Momo says in the video you filmed in Turin 😉

I think the price of a fragrance is definitely influencing some of these comment reviews. Pure Havane is a nice fragrance but I don’t think it’s slightly fair to compare it to the refinement of Naxos. I guess I’m lucky because Naxos will project on my skin for 4-6hrs and live as a skin scent for 12 more. I can’t speak on the original formulation of mugler’s PH but it’s not getting performance anywhere near that, doesn’t last long at all. They don’t smell all that similar to me either, 🤷🏽♂️
Pure havane is a tuff one for me. In the air or far away it's smells awsome but if you smell close or on someone it smells very cheap and like a cherry cough drop and the Tabacco is awful up close . Can't really figure it out.
When listing the notes for Naxos, you said honey (and it absolutely has honey) and then you said the honey is missing from it. Makes no sense. Anyway, this was a fun back and forth. Naxos is my favorite fragrance ever, and at a discounter I was able to get it for $170, so it's an easy choice for me.
You both have such great chemistry and compliment each other so well. Ashley great smile and dimples keep doing your thing both of you. 1 ❤
I've been testing this, Naxos could be pretty much worn all year. Obviously control your sprays in the summer.
I like both of these but they don't have very much similarity to me. Pure Havane is great when you want something a little rougher and sweeter and honeyed (gooey as Ashley says), Naxos has a really superb creamy blend with its tobacco that (at first) comes off a little coconut to me but ends up a really superb an unique take on tobacco. That said, both great but on pure value alone Pure Havane is unbeatable in this match-up. For the folks who love PH btw, try Mancera Red Tobacco that is a great sweeter one too.

Naxos has honey in it. I think the difference smell comes from the Tonka Beans & Lavender that is in Naxos and not in Pure Havane.
Great video :) I've got both and love both! Also Herod, 18:21, chergui, red tobacco.... I love my tobacco scents. Red Tobacco is the hardest one out of those to wear I'd say.

Black Gold By Mancerra smells the most like fabulous to me
I’ve tried both and while I do think Naxos is the better scent overall, it’s nowhere near worth the asking price. Pure Havane isn’t really my thing, the lavender note in it is very dank and almost mildew like. I just can’t get over that. The performance of PH, even though it’s an EDT, is better than Naxos, believe it or not. Naxos doesn’t have the lavender, it has jasmine and other soft florals, which, for me personally, makes it the better blend. The tobacco notes are not as up front in Naxos as they are in PH. Overall, I think that Herod, from PdM, is the better scent out of all three of these, it wins on price (it’s on reputable discount sites right now), it wins on performance, and it wins on the overall blend.
What ever happened to Ashley? Did she eventually graduate as a Parfumeur? Is she working actively in perfumery with her degree?

It is an ancient place according to Greek mythology is the island of the Greek god Dionisos god of wine , joy and parties with orgies , Thiseas the one who killed the great beast of Crete Minotaurs left Ariadne his wife there in the way home to Athens . It’s a great island with magnificent beauty not just for the beaches but for the great mainland.In Naxos you can also find the biggest mountain in the Cyclades which is called Zeus (1001meters) the place where Zeus spend his childhood according with Greek mythology . This island is really beautiful with great traditional foods and remedies. You can smell nature there .Maybe they were amazed by the island thats why they named this amazing fragrance Naxos .
