Whoopi is dreadfully misinformed as are most people who support abortion on demand. Proof? Ok, look up the name Jennifer Morbelli. She was a 29 year old teacher. She decided to kill her child at 33 weeks. That's 8 1/4 months gestation. Why'd she decide to kill the child she already named Madison? It was reported that they told her the child would have seizures after it was born. Not that it wouldn't live. Not that it couldn't maintain a life while possibly having seizures. So they terminated the child. But when they did - the mother dies from the complications of the abortion too. Now just think about that for a minute. That is beyond sad and my heart aches for her husband and their family. What happened to her and that child is sick. And disgusting. And it didn't have to happen. If she didn't want to deal with the child's seizures then give it up for adoption. At least give it up for adoption. Look at the joy that so many Down Syndrome babies bring to families. You don't have to kill what God has allowed to live.

So, the 9-month thing came from Va's last Gov when someone asked about abortion at nine months, and this is his statement below, and it's verbatim. BUt they took this as Democrats are for killing a baby right up to the moment of birth.
Julie certainly can't speak for delegate Tran but I will tell you one the first thing I would say This is why this decisions could be made by providers or physicians and the mothers and fathers that that involved there are you know when we talk about third trimester abortions these are done with the consent of obviously the the mother with the consent of the physicians more than one physician by the way and it's done in cases where there may be severe deformities there may be a a fetus that's non-viable so in this particular example if a mother is in labor I can tell you exactly what would happen the infant would be delivered the infant would be kept comfortable the infant would be resuscitated if that's what the mother and the family desired and then a discussion would ensue between the physicians and the mother so but I think this was really blown out of proportion but again

Whoopi's point is the fundamental difference between the two ideologies at the moment. The sane crowd sees this as a civil rights issue (an American having autonomy over their own body), and the dingbat crowd see this as a religious, authoritarian issue (the baby deserves the right to live). The issue isn't even ABOUT ABORTION; it's about the rights that a woman has over her own body.
Had God created man such that A) the baby formed outside the womb, or B) the man got pregnant instead of the woman, then we wouldn't even be having this debate, because you know good and well that no man on earth is going to allow a government to impose their will over his own body.

It’s not unreasonable to have a 12-16 week limit. That’s months to decide to abort your child or not, with of course exceptions for the mothers life/rape/incest. The latter two usually are performed well before 12-16 weeks. Both sides need to come to an agreement and 12-16 weeks with exceptions shouldn’t have objections because it’s common sense.

Why did she have it? She said, “I was afraid of my boyfriend finding out, and I went [ to the abortion clinic ] once he was in jail.”
Her 7 month old baby didn't have fetal anomalies. It didn't have a brain outside it's head. She simply waited because she was scared her boyfriend would find out so went and had it done at 7 months once he was in jail. My heart aches for that young lady - but that is sick. They had to cut up her healthy baby into pieces to remove it. And I don't think anybody reading my words right now can say in their heart of hearts that they agree with such a thing. Surely, you don't. Look. The LORD offers grace to people who have sinned. He offered it to me. So one can certainly be forgiven. But we don't have to do this. Especially when THEY bring religion into it, and proudly feel justified in oppressing other religions, such as Judaism, and Jews living IN those states, that is NOT against abortion.
Even in southern red states, the Torah still even recommends abortions under certain circumstances, and its NEVER considered murder, so the punishment, for example, if someone attacks a pregnant woman, and only the fetus is killed - the punishment is simply a fine.
Being a state issue doesn't get to make it a christian-based decision, as per MANY states stated reasoning, and oppress Judaism and Jews. Period.
And, Roe compromised with modern day science and used minimal viability limitations for survival outside of the womb, and smart incest/rape/health of the mother stipulations. This showed respect for everyone - AND IF YOU PERSONALLY WERE AGAINST ABORTION UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE - YOU WERE PERFECTLY ALLOWED TO NOT HAVE AN ABORTION. For many, it has always been a matter of religion. However, for many others, it has always been a matter of ethics. It would be just as wrong to say it’s all about religion as it would be to say it’s all about ethics. All I’m saying is that there are many people out there who oppose abortion who are not religious. Actually, you CAN have it both ways, Senator. Just because the Govt pays for a process doesn't mean the govt can have an opinion. Quit making excuses. There was no reason to go after Roe v Wade. There is no reason to have a Federal Law. Continue to let women make their own choices. It's great to have choices and options. Not every choice or option will suit your particular needs but it may serve the next woman very well. I can not fathom why anyone thinks it's okay to regulate what a woman does with her body. I also do not understand why Republicans are absorbed by this subject that was settled years ago.

@annamg338 - I guess I’d say that we all have to regulate what we do in one way or another. As the woman at what point are you no longer allowed to impede on the fetus’s(baby’s) life? What if the baby is born but as the mom, you just need to get some good sleep to take care of your body, and the baby dies of neglect. Obviously an outrageous example but I’m trying to expand your logic and find where it stops being true. If you would agree that there is a point that the logic stops being true, why is that?
I would say something similar, I can’t fathom why someone thinks it’s okay to kill an innocent life.
I’ll take that to the logical extreme, life begins at conception. If the the two extremes are: life begins at conception or aborting is fine at anytime anyone wants to up until birth (first breath, ability to be self-sustaining). Conception makes more logical sense to me than defending why it’s okay to kill a person that could live outside of the womb.

Taken from the CDC website: "Nearly all abortions in 2020 took place early in gestation: 93.1% of abortions were performed at ≤13 weeks’ gestation; a smaller number of abortions (5.8%) were performed at 14-20 weeks’ gestation, and even fewer (0.9%) were performed at ≥21 weeks’ gestation." Whoopie is correct. No one is getting an abortion at 8 months pregnant. Almost all of them are early on. The government wants to force women to have a baby, but then limits funding to welfare and free healthcare for the child that was born. They don't care if the woman is poor and cannot take care of the child. Many of these babies will end up in the foster care system, which is full of abuse.
