The Humcha Jain temples or Humcha basadis are a group of Jain temples in Humcha village of Shimoga district in Karnataka, India. The temples constructed in the 7th century during the reign of the Santara dynasty are noted for their architecture and regarded as one of the great Jain centers of Karnataka. Among the temples, the Padmavati Basadi temple is the most famous of the Humcha Jain temples.
Humcha has been a famous Jain centre since the establishment of the seat of the Bhattaraka in the 7th - 8th century CE by the Jinadatta Raya of the Santara dynasty. In the Basadi complex, Panchkuta Basadi, originally known as 'Urdhvitilaka' (glory of the world) according to inscriptions, is the largest temple in Basadi built-in 1077 CE by Chattaladevi, the wife of Kaduvetti, a Kadava (Pallava dynasty) chief.
The temple is built in Chalukyan style. #jaintemple #jainreligion #jains #jainmandir #youtuber #jainism #travel #travelling #youtubechannel #karnatakayoutuber #shimoga #shimoga #karnatakatourism #historical #supportmychannel #subscribe #historicalplacesinindia #historicalplaces #youshorts #shortsvideo #shortsbloger #history #jainhistory #jaintemple #youtuber thirthahalli
