    Thank you for this demonstrative video. I want to get into trying out fountain pens, but I didn't really know how to work with a converter (barely knew what it was) and was unsure of what to purchase until I saw your video!

    Love both the pen and the ink! I think the Swipe will be my first Twsbi! I've wanted one since I started watching your videos!

    I have the SWIPE in Prussian Blue. It is a good but not ‘great’ writer in my opinion. At least it looks and feels like a pen and not a vaping pipe. The cap clip is useless and will stress and break at the top fitting. Good advice from you regarding filling to avoid air being sucked in. I am outside of USA, so only have the one converter, a cartridge and a spring. Good value for the money overall, but I don’t think the Lamy crew will be that shaken …

      These definitely aren’t my most used TWSBIs or FPs in general. They are fine but definitely not the most amazing. Thanks so much for watching and commenting! Excellent points 😊

    Okay, okay you talked me into it. I've been watching all the 101 unboxing/first impression videos on the new Twsbi but you are the first I've seen that had the 1.1 stub. I'm late getting into Twsbi because even though I liked the way they looked I'm not a huge fan of demonstrators. Then I caved in and ordered 2 Ecos, one broad and one stub. I love both but obsessed with Kobe #57 Hydrangea in the stub. It's gorgeous. Thank you for sharing that you like the blue better than the grey. I also am not a blue pen fan but it stood out more than the grey.

      It’s a gorgeous shade of blue!! Yay for loving stub! It’s the best. Makes your ink shine ✨ and your handwriting 📝 better!

    I have two Ecos and a Go. Goulet is sending my Swipe, and I should get it on Tuesday. I like TWSBI pens a lot, and am looking forward to my Swipe. Great review.

      I think you’ll like the Swipe. It’s definitely a nice upgrade from the GO and it’s a different feel from the ECO. Glad to have them in my collection.

    great review, thanks (I revisit this from time to time), just one point of interest. You say that only the US version comes with the accessories...I'm in Australia and we get all the accessories as well, including the refill cartridge pack.

      I’m glad that they decided to sell all that with it in other countries too. When they launched they marketed it as only being in US distributions and even in their home country it wasn’t offered. So that’s great news. Thanks for watching and commenting.

    Yay, I knew you’d come through with a review of the swipe! I have been wanting to order, but I’m still waiting for some reason. Lol. I’d love to hear your thoughts on how the pen cap is working a couple weeks later, and also your thoughts from using them for awhile.
    I agree with you that the blue is so pretty and I also like that it’s not transparent, but I love the neutral gray color too!

      So far I'm really enjoying them. They've been consistent - I haven't had any hard start issues so far and the ink has flowed nicely in them. I have PenBBS ink in both but one is a shimmer ink and the other is not. I haven't noticed any issues with the ink evaporating or the nib drying so I think the cap works nicely. I don't think I could store ink unused for months in it like I can a Platinum but I definitely think this is an upgrade to the GO and that they addressed some of the issues I had with that pen.

      @@JustScribble oh thank you for the update, I am happy to hear it. I absolutely love my ECO's but I love pens that I can use a syringe to fill the cartridges, so this is the best of both worlds!!!!

    Good review. First time seeing the swipe. I think it would be helpful to mention a cost comparison as well also where you bought the pen in the US. Thanks

    I swore to myself that I would never use a fountain pen. But after watching a few of your fountain pen videos I decided it was time to give one a try. What would you recommend as a first time fountain pen? I don’t like thin writing, I usually use a .07 on my pens. Also I don’t do well with complicated things so the easier the better. I appreciate any advise you can offer. Thank you.

      I started with a Pilot Varsity. Maybe a fine point (around .6mm) or medium would be something you like. You can find a pen you like and look up the nib sizes.

      @@Ghost_Boy36 Thank you for that link. I've learn a lot from reading it and I think I am going to try a medium nib. Now to just find the right pen now, I will look into the Pilot Varsity. Thank you again for your reply.

      @@isimplyplan911 You're welcome! I forgot to mention to that you should take into account the paper that you write with, as mediums and broad nibs will put more ink on the page.

      Hi I Simply Plan! I actually have a beginners fountain pen series coming this fall! I think you’ll love it.
      As far a a beginners fountain pens there’s a few great options. I’d recommend starting with a pen that comes with a cartridge so you don’t have to mess with bottled ink from the get. There’s some very inexpensive options that are almost disposable like the Platinum Preppy (a favorite of mine for a very inexpensive good for the price pen). But I’d go for a little bit of a step up from there. A good option is the Platinum Prefounte. But there’s a few more I can provide as well. I post some links tomorrow. As far as nib size goes - if you like a 0.7mm you’d probably want to go with a M from a Japanese pen company. Their nibs run finer. In a Western brand it would be a F or a M depending on the pen. I’ll go into some more details on that in my series but I’ll put nib sizes on the list I post here for you too.

    Is there any difference between extra fine nib of twsbi swipe and twsbi go?

    • @JustScribble
      @JustScribble  2 роки тому

      The SWIPE uses the same #4 size nib as the TWSBI ECO and the TWSBI GO so there's no difference in their nib sizes.

    I just got the TWSBI Eco transparent purple. For the swipe, instead of the spring will the pen hold an extra cartridge?

    • @JustScribble
      @JustScribble  3 роки тому +1

      No you wouldn’t be able to store an extra cartridge instead. The carriages are longer than the spring so it wouldn’t fit and also because it wouldn’t have enough give so it would create too much pressure on the feed section.
