Hello everyone, I am Gerald the guide in this video. I want to apologize for any wrong information that I gave.Going into filming the video Peter And I were not planning on making the video Migrant oriented but during filming it worked out to make the most sense. I went Into filming on 4 hours of sleep over 3 night's was nervous before shoot. I really should have planned the whole route better and points of contact, there were a few bad apples and people who fell through or times did not match up. Sorry to you Peter and the Audience, Harder to speak in front of Camera than I thought. So to Start I'm writing this before seeing the video. I just want to correct what I said and any wrong or missed info. Wachusett Mountain was purchased by the state in 1900 for $20,000. The word wachusett originated from the Native American term “near the mountain” or "mountain place” .There was a Summit house on top which was a hotel and other amenities which burned down in 1970. The mountain is in Westminster and Princeton. Westminster received a good amount of migrant familys which was never discussed in video. Fitchburg and neighboring communities main industry's were mills. Textile mills, paper mills, tool companies etc. The Rivers got polluted From companies dumping dyes into rivers from clothing etc. Fitchburg is also the hilliest town/city in Massachusetts. Sterling Ma is where mary had a little Lamb the poem was made and Sudbury the town right next to Concord is where Henry ford moved the mary had a little lamb schoolhouse along with put up the Grist Mill and renovated the Longfellow Inn the oldest inn in the USA, along with Fords Folly (look into story). A few prisons and hospitals closed in Massachusetts recently. In the Town of Ayer, one of the towns in Video, Nashoba Valley Medical Center, a hospital closed down on August 31st 2024. In Concord the Prison closed down in July of 2024. MCI Concord which is the oldest prison in the state of Massachusetts, started in 1878 closed this year. We went to Fitchburg which I desribed as a rough around the edges town but a New England town with A old school charm and starting to get Better. The reason I call Fitchburg rough (there are way rougher towns in MA Fyi) but the neighboring town Leominster is a lot better maintained and upkept. Leo and Fitch were considered Twin Cities but driving in Fitchburg the roads are way worse, the sidewalks are overgrown and the city is slowly coming back. They are doing some stuff but theres still a feeling of parts being neglected. Fitchburg has a really Nice art Museum and they have Fitchburg state which really helps out the town. Leominster got really bad Flooding last year, a lot of roads, houses, buildings, and highways were flooded and damaged. Cars were underwater in some parts and some parts are still getting rebuilt. Again sorry about my factual mistakes and not being the best guide I could have been, was very nervous. We started filming In Central Mass and made our way over to Historic Concord which is closer to Boston. A lot of towns we drove through are facing the same hotel situations and overall problems that Peter and I investigated. We didn't shed any light on most of the towns, just visited a few during the shoot. Lastly, I'm not on Any side on any of the topics discussed. I'm neutral when it comes to everything going on and everything political. I also want to thank you Peter for letting me be a guide despite my blunders, your a good Guy and I appreciate you giving me a chance.
Hey Gerald it's me from Monty tech engineering, glad to see your doing well. Still in Fitchburg for me, towns definitely getting better over the years, definitely pockets of rougher areas blowing ally and movie theater just closed down recently on John Fitch but over all things are looking up for the town in the coming decade
You did a wonderful job ! Not once did I feel you were anything but NEUTRAL. In this day and age thats an extremely hard place to be. Again, thanks for being there for Peter! ✌️

All the information you posted, I didn't know all of that having lived in MA my whole life, being twice your age. Don't apologize. None of us would have had all those facts correct in our head on the cuff! Good job on the video. You made us Massholes proud. 💗
My cousin and her French husband lived in Fitchburg years ago. Who knows, you could be her grandson. I would be PROUD to call you cousin. You did a great job. I love Massachusetts, it's so beautiful, and the people are MY people. From Nova Scotia. xx
Being born in Massachusetts but lived most of my adult life in the west. It was a treat watching you guide Peter. Great seeing towns I was familiar with in name and even went to school. Sharing facts, history and discussing the hotel situation was very important and interesting. I think you did a fantastic job. Not very many 25 years could have the discussions about their surrounding communities. You should consider UA-cam content, I think you’re a natural. You didn’t seem nervous and I enjoyed listening to you. Thanks for the update and details.
You did a great job Gerald! My dad is from Dartmouth and have a lot of family in New Bedford. My bro in law from Boston. I love all of Massachusetts. No place like it. Either you get a rowdy mouthy person or a laid back genuine person like yourself. You remind me of my bro in law, calm, kind hearted and well rounded, close to family and smart. Saying I love you to your dad was everything. Appreciate your input! 😀
Thank you for your clarifications. As a viewer I didn't get the sense that you were disparaging about the towns. I appreciated all the historical context you gave us. AND, most of all, I love how you told your dad you loved him multiple times. Good son. Good citizen.
Very impressive how you know so much about the area. You are a natural raconteur too! I did not detect any nervousness and thoroughly enjoyed listening to you! Greetings from Colorado. I am a resident alien from The Netherlands, a Cold War bride :) Met my husband when he was stationed at the AFB near my home town. Been married for 45 years! I love Peter's videos. They give such a great and honest view of his travels! And you are a great dude, Gerald. Your dad is too. It is obvious you were raised well. A rarity to see these days. But, it is understandable if we take into account how hard life has become for so many younger parents in the last 20 years or so.
@@GladAndBoujee so sorry for this late reply, but knowing you, I bet you already researched quite a bit :) A nice place to visit is the mountains, of course. For Rocky Mountain National Park you need to reserve a timed entry till mid October. Near Colorado Springs the Garden of the Gods is beautiful and in the south west there is Mesa Verde. Right now we are experiencing an Indian summer with mostly warm weather still, but the nights are cool, especially in the mountains, so be prepared to bring some warm layers. Hope you will have great time visiting! Check out some info here. www.nps.gov/romo/planyourvisit/timed-entry-permit-system.htm
It was an insigtful and interesting tour! Your level of diligence in making sure your state's facts are accurately represented is admirable. It's clear that you care about your region and want it to thrive. Thank you for stretching yourself and sharing what you know and love.
Gerald, Apology accepted 😊. I’m Massachusetts born - at the old Murphy Army Hospital in Waltham on March, 1953! Yup, I was a military brat. My dad was from Lexington and my mom was from Arlington! As a kid, we would spend our summers with our grandparents in Arlington and once my dad returned home from Viet Nam the family never returned to Mass. So, with that being said, I wanted to let you know that your obviously love for the region has sparked some interest in me wanting to visit sometime soon. Also, I found you to be well spoken (Mass accent and all) and your deportment and demeanor are head and shoulders above others your age. Your parents did a good job in raising you. Keep on getting involved in good things like Peter’s vlog (he has an enormous mentoring capacity). Forget the small stuff, anything that you may have missed-spoken about was overshadowed by your authenticity and caring. As we say in the Navy, “fair winds and following seas”! ❤
Gerald. First off, you did an absolutely terrific job guiding Peter around. You have ZERO to apologize for. Most importantly, you are an original "good dude" who obviously comes from a close knit and wonderful family (your dad is a pistol - my contemporary and my kind of guy!). You obviously have tremendous talents. I hope the video will open some doors for you. Explore every opportunity that comes your way because you never know. You have a bright future am I'm pulling for you! That said, the migrant issue is such a sad situation created by our local and national leaders since 1/20/20. It makes me sick. I grew up in Boston. These types of situations were never considered. The fact that the open boarder folks are streaming in and displacing the locals and the LEGAL immigrants is just wrong on every level. These resources should be directed to the people who truly need TEMPORARY help, not the full-time professional freeloaders. We can change this on 11/5/24 if we want. And if we don't, it will get way, way worse.
Gerald, I was leaving a comment about you under Peter’s video when it vaporized due to a wrong key stroke. As I fumbled to reclaim my post, I saw your YT link for the first time. I haven’t found the comments you refer to yet. But I just want to say nice job overall. For lack of a more comprehensive term, I’m going to say you are a marvelous “ambassador” for your community. Respectful, articulate, conscientious and knowledgeable are a few terms that come to mind. I get the feeling you possess gratitude for where you are in life; don’t ever abandon that, it will carry you far. Well done!
Hey Gerald, Just finished watching Peter's video. I'm a lifelong MA resident at 43 and thought you did a great job as a guide, you taught me something new about Ford's Folly. I may have to go check it out some weekend. And props on that 300D Mercedes 👍
@methos-ey9nf hey thank you very much for nice comment. Fords Folly is awesome, check out gristmill nearby also. Lots of beautiful spots in MA abd new england. Thank you i got so lucky to get the 300D only paid 500$. Needs some work from sitting but I love it, fun project. I'm gonna post some new england history and areas soon
The video you did with Peter is a prime reason he is loved as much as he is. There might have been a planned route but, if something important or more interesting comes along, he goes with it. I think you did a great job! Bringing light to this is something both you and Peter deserve much credit for. Also... I had a great aunt from Chicopee that passed long ago. Hearing your New England accent made me think of her. Thanks for taking Peter on this tour!
You did a great job. I am a local and you represented the overall situation perfectly. Thanks for putting yourself out there and getting the message out.
Wow Gerald i just watched Peter's video and wanted to come over to support your channel. You did amazing!! You came off actually very calm and not nervous at all. The interaction between you both was like you've been buddies for years! Your honesty, knowledge, truthfulness and heart for Mass shows. You'd make an amazing guide for the sorrounding areas. I love history and old architecture. Was enthralled every time you spoke so easily about it. Congrats to your parents raising such a fine young man and to you for choosing, the right side of the tracks! 🙏
@@GladAndBoujee I'm a born and raised in Massachusetts my whole life man. I don't get all of our heritage rite, very understandable and expected for any human. However I find that you are very intelligent thought u were awesome on the vid . I don't evan kno the host from a hole in the wall but clicked on the vid as soon as I saw what it was about . To see a 25 year old on top of his game is awesome . Keep it up man
I thought you did a fantastic job showing us your area. Very informative and interesting. So sad to see one town is doing well while the next is struggling. Greetings from Germany ❤
@Sterntalerin1 Thank you so much i really appreciate that. I was so nervous but it came out a lot better than I thought it would. I hope to visit your country one day and a few countries overseas. Thank you for the nice comment. The Banjo player in my parents band lived in Germany for like 10 years
Gerald you were great, really informative and helpful which made the audience experience very good. I knew very little about Massachusetts so I have learnt a lot. You and your Dad are great people and I loved your family home, just beautiful. Thanks again from Lesley in the UK
Thanks Gerald. My dad worked for a company out out Fitchburg...Asher Slacks. In their heyday, they did men's and women's high end clothing. I represented a company, (casual clothing) in Fitchburg, also. It was my launch into a great job I had for 12 years. You're a bright young man and keep up the good work. I wish all 25-year olds possessed your understanding, compassion, curiousity and willingness to put yourself out there. You obviously have good parents and your willingness to recognize that your life is what you make of it and sometimes it requires hard work.
I should have planned routes and everything better I took a few days off. But I took in so much information in a few days it was hard to put on paper. I grew up here. I know the history and stories and a lot of good ones were never told. Peter is a nice fellow and the last thing he wants is wrong info spread around, and I don't want to be the source of wrong information. We met a corrupt man pushing a bad narrative, but that's a story for another day. The information isn't bad I just want to make it right by saying what I meant to say not what was said. Lack of sleep and being nervous didn't help me convey the right information.
Hey Gerald. I just finished watching the video, and I thought you did great. Would have never suspected that you were nervous at all, more like you do that kind of thing all the time. :) I lived and worked in Mass for many years as a nanny and household manager, finally had to leave because I knew I would never be able to get ahead there. I love your state. It's a beautiful place, and I loved the people there too. So much to see and do. Hopefully I can get back out there some day, if even to visit. All the best to you!
I'm from the South Shore and thought you did a fantastic job. I saw you guys drive by the Concord prison and was unaware that it closed. Also, your description of Fitchburg was fine...I live near Brockton and remember its finer days when the factories were buzzing and housing was better than now. Hospitals and healthcare that were premier in our state are now closing and on shaky ground. Our local industry has been abandoned and it's evident. Most towns (even the wealthiest here) are hanging on by a thread. I hope you'll continue to share your love and knowledge of our area on your UA-cam Channel. Along with Peter, you provided an avenue for more people to become familiar with this area.
@lriley4239 a lot of towns are hanging on by a thread sadly. Fitchburg is coming back but a bit slower than other towns in the area. Thanks for the nice comment. I hope I can teach some people some stuff about New England! Thanks for watching and taking time to write a response!
I’ve been a fan of Peter for quite some time. Your collaboration has been one of my favorite videos thus far. Very enlightening, you’ve done a great job. I have long family history here even though I myself am now in the Midwest. I had no idea things were going on there.
From a guy with Powhatan and Massachusetts Bay colony ancestors you did a great job. There’s us and there’s multiple levels of government and business’s trying to take. We vote either at the polls or most importantly either every small business we support. Real people, real respect and trust is what is family and community at the end of each day!
Well... 2 months later... your video comes into my feed. You're on the right path young friend! It is important that we right our wrongs whenever we can. It's one of the hardest things we do. Admitting we were wrong and then going back to correct it. Apologizing publically takes great courage. It's an act that sets us free. You are a man of good character that shines the light for others to see there is space for Grace. You're a son any good mama would be proud of! Keep up the good work. 😊💝
We NEED more young men like yourself out in this world! Keep up the hard work and good things happen to people who wait! 👍From Ohio!!! Lemme know when you wanna sell that Benz!!! Been wanting one of those my whole life!!
@zackdogg1313 Hey, thank you so much. i appreciate your response. You can still find them cheap if you are lucky. Hope Ohio is treating you well. Check out Grand Marquis and town cars or buicks with the 3.8. Just as good and less maintenance and easier to get parts for. I got super lucky with Benz, it needs some work but what car doesn't
Also - think about it. Who may benefit from Pete's extensive, hard work - traveling about as he does; getting up-to-the-minute details on roads, towns, neighborhoods in this country? [Hint: it may be some of the 1nv@der$ (maybe the 'Reds'...) ] Kinda 'fishy'...
I don't know enough about the area to have noticed any mistakes. And you really seemed very comfortable, not at all nervous. I appreciate how conscientious you are in wanting to make any corrections you felt were needed. Very nice tour and informative. Thank you, Gerald.
Hey, man, you did an excellent job with a difficult topic. Seriously, I was impressed with your delivery and knowledge, you were an excellent guide for Peter. I am older than your dad. A video like this is going to get some heat from those making money off the situation and the politicians who pay for it with our own money. And no one will tell the truth about it. In any case, thank you for showing Peter what is going on in your neck of the woods. It is happening everywhere to one degree or another, including my red area where I live. Yu find out about this stuff by accident, which is horrible.
Fantastic job Gerald. I grew up in Harvard just next door to Ayer, and the disparity you talk of is so evident. I always loved going to Fitchburg for some good eats despite the roads haha. Hope to see you around cmass
Hey Gerald! I just watched Peters video with you in it and enjoyed it immensely. You seem like a level headed guy with a big heart in the right place. If I didn't live in Sweden but in the US I'd bought you a beer or two, you seem like a great guy to hang with! If you are ever in Stockholm, hit me up and I'll get you those beers!
How sweet. I enjoyed it. I enjoyed your Mass frankness and local flare and flavor. Enjoyed your bass-playing Dad cameo too. Don't sweat it. But thanks for the historical details and clarifications.
Gerald i like people like you! No nonsens, and pure...you two did a good job. To bring some light in these topic...Be yourself, you are good as you are..Much blessings...I hope we see more of you...and we need more people like you...Greetings and blessings from the Netherlands..
You did a great job man. I’m from Ashburnham and I never see cmass get coverage so it was great to see it. Next time I’m back in MA (I’m in the navy) I’d love to grab a coffee and talk history man.
You did a fantastic job! No apologies needed really appreciate the work you did on this video and of course Peter too. Very informative and very well done!
I live outside concord ma and I loved your work on the video, Gerald! You did some fantastic reporting, and then you carefully added clarifications/corrections where needed. Hard to find fault with that. Great job!
No need to apologize brotha, you were great in this video and I respect the dedication to correct your mistakes. I’m about your age from south central mass and loved hearing you talk about the history around here. Best of luck man would love to see more videos from you 👍
Thanks for having Peter as your guest! I've been following him for a few years. I am from Fitchbur, and everything you said is correct. I love the historical insights you gave on some of the towns you visited in the comment you made. Great job on the video!
I hope to see you both making another video again sometime soon. You did an amazing job-I would have never guessed you were nervous. You were well spoken, respectful and your authenticity shone for you. Keep on keeping on!
You did great man & so much better than most journalist out there. We all now have info at our fingertips. But searching for the real truth & giving people the knowledge you found through hard work & dedication is best.
@leedoucette8522 thank you so much. The whole video was super last minute. The video topic was last minute also. It came out a lot better than I thought. We had to follow the thread!
Dear Gerald - I just watched Peter's episode with you. I didn't see or hear anything that would make me think you are biased. It felt as it you were showing him around places you know and love - that's all! Those towns are like almost every town in the US right now. Not your fault, sweetheart!
You have no reason to apologize. The video was fine and you did a great job. I never felt at any point that you might be on drugs. I think you did a great job speaking and telling us about what's going on in middle Massachusetts. And you brought light to what is happening to small communities (as well as big cities) around the country. They have no interest in helping homeless American citizens. There is a deep dark agenda going on to replace Americans and to bring down the middle class. Be proud of the video you made with Peter. It is to be expected to be nervous being on Peter's channel. Try not to read the negative comments people can be mean and nasty behind anonymity. A lot of that negativity probably also stems from the fact that these NGO's in government agencies do not want people to know what's going on.
You did Awesome !! You were my favorite part of the video. I have always enjoyed Peters videos & thought how much I wish I knew he was going to be here in my area, but I would've been incredibly nervous as well to even talk to him, especially on camera. Do not let listen to the mean people, Let them go on a channel with millions of subscribers, its not easy for us Central Mass people. ☺️ Seriously, you ( & your dad were great !!! )
Gerald! I was so excited to see you on Peter’s channel (I watch all his videos). You did an awesome job quit sweating the small stuff! Hope you’re doing well 😊
@candaceheim9236 Thank you so much Candy! Hope you and your Husband are doing well. Hope Utah is good thanks for the nice comment. Peter is a great guy
Hey Gerald, I thought you did an amazing job as Peter's guide! I'm an outsider, I am not a resident of MA. As a matter of fact, I am all the way from Australia. Your commentary and the things you spoke about made the video so interesting, so much so that I managed the watch the entire video without skipping (I have a weak attention span lol).
Gerald, my guy, you did GREAT. You are such a straight shooter and it really speaks to your character that you would even CONSIDER making such a video let alone actually MAKING one. Wish more people were like you.
Gerald you were great no worries! I'm in Upstate NY and my sister lives in MA as well as several friends . I think you are a very well spoken young person! You have a bright future and telling your father you love him is really so beautiful. I enjoyed the video, even if the entire situation with migrants and our tax dollars makes my blood boil.
Absolutely no problem dude! You did a fabulous job and all your info was 200% more accurate than anything the Government or Main Stream Media puts out. I'm in Westford, we have no problems with the influx of asylum seekers or illegal aliens. The Swells here in town would vomit if any Outsiders crossed the town line. Typical of all the rich liberal towns in Mass. We love asylum seekers and migrants as long as they stay in Lowell. Subscribed!

The father-son love exchange was priceless!
You do not have to be sorry for anything. You spoke well and did a fantastic job showing Peter around.
Thank you so much that means a lot!
Thank you for your clarifications. As a viewer I didn't get the sense that you were disparaging about the towns. I appreciated all the historical context you gave us. AND, most of all, I love how you told your dad you loved him multiple times. Good son. Good citizen.
Gerald, u did a damn good job!!! Don’t apologize for anything!!! U rocked it!!!
@jgsg2620 thank you so much it's means a lot.
@connyjensen1877 thank you so much for comment. I might be going out to Colorado soon, any recommendations?
@TracyRhodes27 thank you Tracy. We live in a great country with great people even thou everyone has different opinions. Have a good day!
@Nescit_Occasum there are a ton of nice parts. If you need any recommendations, please just ask. Thank you for the nice comment and for watching
@@GladAndBoujee Much appreciated! And, just to let you know- thanks to you, I learned a new word today - bougee!🤙
Thank you for your service!🇺🇸🙏
Gerald,
I was leaving a comment about you under Peter’s video when it vaporized due to a wrong key stroke.
Well done!

@wtfBrad thank you very much. Sorry to hear about you aunt. Hope you enjoyed the video

I found you when i watched you and Peter. I was impressed by you so I decided to subscribe. God bless you Gerald.
Dude I watched that video it was awesome. And you coming back and correcting yourself is very humble.
Have a great day.
Well done, Gerald!❣️
@tonimendive566 thank you very much means the world 🌎
Hey Gerald. I just finished watching the video, and I thought you did great. Would have never suspected that you were nervous at all, more like you do that kind of thing all the time. :) I lived and worked in Mass for many years as a nanny and household manager, finally had to leave because I knew I would never be able to get ahead there.
