What a kind heart and understanding you have, Ryan. It seems like you are close to Thai people every time we see your vlogs. In my opinion, it's rare to find these qualities in people because they come from within, but I see it in you from watching your vlogs from the very beginning. Thank you for sharing and updating.🙏👍❤💯
@winnerwinnerchickendinner8809 I hear what you are saying but is it true? Are Thai workers likely to think better of you or are they likely to think you are a soft touch? In this case I am interested to see whether this approach works or not.
Always a lot of people to help in most Thai shops. When you go to a large mall, I'm always amazed at the number of stores without any customer but many employees!
Thanks Ryan ❤😂 you make my Home sickness a little less painful. You put a smile on my face , i can totally relate to your live because i have been there ,and hope to return to it as soon as possible.😊
Well done Ryan for looking after your builders this extra space is very good I’m sure Tis is one happy boy knowing his daddy is building him his own bedroom great vlog thank you
Otis' 'own' room isn't the one that is being built, as it seems that you think from your comment. It is Ryan's current room in the side of the main cottage. The room under construction is to be Ryan's new room.
Awesome video Ryan! You’re such a thoughtful individual….and very kind! Thank you for taking us along today and so glad to see Tis at the end of the video 😊 Enjoy your weekend:)
Nice of you to supply tunes! What is a small gestures for us is a welcome kindness for the crew. Your project is going quickly ... they must like you. We want to see more of your Frenchie (Potato with legs). We are currently in southern Arizona ... cactus heaven. The Southern Desert Monsoon season has started the cacti are blooming. Thanks for sharing.
I just finished watching "Farang Way + Thai Heart"😅😅. I think it is a great combination. It's true that you may not be the best person (no one is perfect), but you are a good man, an amazing father, and an understanding partner. My apologies for the second comment, but this is what I have to say now.🙏💯
Hi Brian I dont comment much if ever . But I will just say this . I send stories to Thailand bound. This is a mini event. I really admire what you do . I recently built a house in Ban Ped about 2 hours from you. I had the money So its 5 bedroom 2 bathroom . I have my own space away from the thais when I want it . But then watching you I decided to put a small Bamboo hut in the garden . My Thai family thinks I am mad because I go and sleep some nights in a bamboo hut and they stay in 2.2 million baht house . I visit the local water buffalo and try to make friends with them. Water Buffalo are like dogs they need to develope a relationship to trust . Have a good day and thanks for an awesome channel
All the Paint and Electrical stuff for just 323 GBP seems like a very decent price. Very Helpful and friendly staff as well. Love ❤️ to watch this kind of daylong routine Videos. Well done Mate. 👍🙏🇹🇭
Cool that Tis had his own room. I thought he would end up using the upstairs area, but this is even more private. And separate entrance? I didn't have that till I was much older!
What are fun and interesting video very well-made.. I really enjoy watching the tie methods for building… being a carpenter builder type here in Hawaii. It’s fun to see the differences ..you have amazing patience…!
Great vlogg Ryan I've bin in Jomtien 1 year now and thinking of Rural Thailand much appreciated for your information mate good luck with family life #Top Geezer
I would have done it the same way as you keep the ends in on the back overhang on the front make it stable and harness it properly up front so it doesn't sway back and forth
shawshank and the green mile ,these 2 are the best movies evermade and add the pappillon (1973) dustin huffman actin ......builders around the world love their music looool funny how u compared it to a holiday without sunshine etc
The new building is looking great! Home Shop in BR will be part of our August pilgrimage 😅, Disneyland for builders! We are still undecided about how to built a 100m2 place to stay in the farm; it is either your way or a knockdown steelframe house 😞
Nice thought to gift a radio and good customer service to our the batteries in and then to check it works. I would have done the same with loading the Ute (Aussie term for truck as you call it - the American term) as you Ryan. I would also have looked to tie down the front part of those long pieces to somewhere at the front bumper of the Ute, though modern vehicles make that harder with their designs. The small room being built: stainless steel sink, water inlet & outlet, extraction fan... Sounds like somewhere to wash a certain plant 🤫 and the extraction fan to draw out the fumes so Damo doesn't detect what you're sm*king 😂 I did expect to see a better 'thank you from the builder for the radio though. Maybe that came later and we didn't see it in the vlog 🤔 Enjoyable vlog as per usual 🙏🙏🙏😃
That's coming along nicely. How has the roof held up in the rain? Will you install conrete pots for the rainwater catchment storage or just dump the water?
Try and work on stage / progress payments if the build appears slow! They've probably made some money at around 60% completion? Walk the site and check what they say they have done and only pay out if the quants claimed match your inspection! Pays to keep an eye on these guys at all times--regardless of being 'family or friends--you're boss man you play them ! Music is an ancillary option for easing the progress! Beers are worth buying if they deserve! Good vlog!
Similar to our local “Home” store. They have 4 or 5 times “more” the amount of employees that are actually needed… and the double or triple check to pay and check out. I just stop questioning it and just embrace it 😂.
I agree with you that it should be inside the pickup section. However, the piece over the cab could flex with the wind and get damaged. In the 🇬🇧 you need to put a pice of cloth at the rear end sticking out to me the overhang legal.
I'm so happy as for your idea to thanks them by your house renovation. As for me, I'm happy for preparing welcoming when their time starts, half chatting by some comedies while their doing including half singing and listening to our choices to our favourite songs before and after including during their working by making all of us feels happiness with the drinks that I decided to buy for them by making their bodies not too exhausted for helping me to enjoy it for a huge thanks for their helps.
That’s funny…..when we spend winters in Phuket and go into stores such as this one, we’re always amazed how many employees are working. It blows our mind.
They check when you go out of the stores in the US they look at your bill but more for them so I admire your way of life I am older lol so many regrets when I was younger lol so watching your channel brings me much joy especially family life and support of Thais is so beautiful your a very lucky man! Such a beautiful hard working wife I just love you two! THAI STANDARDS ARE WONDERFUL RYAN! THANKS I LOVE YOUR EVERYDAY LIFE AND CHALLENGES I MISS TIS HOPE TO SEE MORE OF THAT BEAUTIFUL BOY oh do you have that mosquito disease that killed the Australian guy that has the twins have you gotten a vaccination or what do you feel about that it scares me and I worry about that and like you said its rainy season and I worry about you and your loved ones !❤ can't wait for you to put your room together and Tis is wise tell him because his brother is little and doesn't know right now he has to learn!!❤ sending hugs
Always interesting and informative and entertaining. It always pays to keep the tradesman happy as we do here in Wales a good supply of tea and cake keeps them happy
Thanks Ryan . My Wife is Thai, Her Family is heavy drinkers , except Her and her MA. If They had all the money They've spent on alcohol, they could build a new house. 😢
The extension is looking good. I'm interested if they used a damp proof course, or is it like here in Bali, where they deal with problem later? Usually flaking paint in a year or two. Cheers.
Hello Ryan! Happy that you did start new project, I am as technician more worried about waste water and pipes ventilation. Do new building will be connected to "Cottage" waste water line? To avoid problems with "bad smell" from toilet - if you have WC-seat, shower and wash basin, distance between ventilation pipes should be max 10m. If connection will be longer - need ventilation pipe over the roof. Another thing is about ventilation in living area - have you might thinking about to install - Wind turbine ventilator? B.R. Ruslan from Finland.
In my truck there are always straps used to keep thing down with the locking gears , not expensive , you can get a set for $20-$50 USD edit: yes I’m sure you can get some for cheaper or better ones. But that’s a good enough range
We time me sitting down & you uploading pretty well 👍 I'm guessing the window is single glazed and nothing fancy but it's crazy how cheap it is. We have to have at least double glazing, some people import UPVC windows from Europe. UPVC can cost 30-60k NZD for a house lot in NZ. $27 AUD you'd be lucky to buy the rubber seal for that window here. 🤯 A 50 year land lease and a self built tiny house/cabin seems very achievable there. Grow some tucker, a few animals & a pimped out scooter with a side car. Doesn't sound to bad in my old age. That load I'd be driving around the corner and tie it on with more than loose plastic string. What if you had to slam on the brakes. You'd get pulled up for that here. 12" long 4" wide of cactus they say is good for one person. Keep a bucket on hand 👍
I'm sure the workers in that store are far more helpful than most uninterested younger employees at an American Home Depot or Lowe's are. Judging from my personal experience at many Thai stores and businesses over the years.
Great episode Ryan/Mo + Otis. You have a good heart Ryan as am sure Mo and others have told you. Having music for the workers is important. You did a good thing there. We always had a small "boom box" back in the late 70's early 80" when I was working construction. Your building supply store is quite complete. Glad to see you checking those Thai tie downs of the material. Mo saying "its Thai standard" made me laugh. 555 Like the overview of the build. You are "moving out" soon. Had not seen the little bathroom off the kitchen, obviously needed. You call it "render" Americans call it smooth stucco. All looking good guys. Waiting for your next "rant" here on the Naked Guru.😂😆😉 It's all good. Peace and Love Y'all
I came to this channel a few days ago despite having no real interest in Thailand or living there, but because I'm an addiction counsellor and the country keeps coming up in therapy sessions so I thought I would see what was going on.
Hope you have enjoyed this little behind the scenes to our build!

In my opinion, this was a mistake. They will now see you as a soft touch! Anyway, let's see how it all pans out!
It's best way to get your house done right with small simple gift

I would not have thought of that, but good move

In Australia, its not a true building site without at least 2 boom boxes projecting different music or radio stations, both at full volume
I agree with you that it should be inside the pickup section. However, the piece over the cab could flex with the wind and get damaged.
