50 didn't and doesn't "want to be seen" as a gangster. He was. To the point it didn't need to be questioned. Steve is saying that 50 always clowned his enemies using rap in an extremely comedic fashion.
Steve isn't saying 50 was a comedian as a diss. He mentions 50s talents:
- his natural comedic ability (look at wanksta)
- his proven business success as an exec
- his story telling ability
If 50 were to branch out into the comedy genre, he would fully take it over, due to the combination of those talents.
