don't know if I'm late but.. Q1: Who's your favourite art UA-camr? (Traditional & digital, since I tend to choose one for each.) Q2: What do you have the most trouble with in art? How do you think you will improve on this? Q3: What's your favourite colour scheme(s) to work with? PS. You don't have to answer all these questions, you could just pick one!
Are you good at shading? Cause you can just greyscale and use a gradient map or cover over the hreyscale and use overlay. That's what I do cause coloring is hard lol
8:04 I think that's called bounce light! Not necessarily skin glowing onto the hair, but in harsh light the color of the skin can bounce onto the color of hair nearby. It's also why you can see super blue tones in skin under a bright blue sky. Colors reflecting onto / off of other colored surfaces are wild.
Do you think you could do a skin coloring tutorial on other body parts like hands, legs, and arms? Those are areas I really struggle with. Also hair too. Maybe lighter hair and different hairstyles? I know you're probably pretty busy most of the time but it's just a request! :) (I love your style so much btw, it really inspires me to continue drawing!)
I'm so happy I found out about your channel! I've been struggling with finding a coloring style for the past few months, but you showed many ideas I hadn't considered, I'll for sure try to implement them
i know you've listed the brushes in the description but i cant seem to find the brush you were using at around 4:36. at 4:48 it looks like its called "路笔R" and i cant seem to find it anywhere. Sorry if this is annoying lol, the art is fantastic and I've been loving the everything brush!
i always like my sketches on paper more than when i outline digitally.. i'm going to try using a more pencil-like brush again and try that tip with doubling the outline layer with another color so it's more filled in :) thanks for the vid!!!
thank you sm for this!! it was lovely hearing your process. im still learning art especially coloring and with all the tutorials and info it gets overwhelming and i get everything jumbled ;; but listening to yours helped me calm down and help me realize where i need to refocus! also i love using new brushes and cant wait to try these!; - ;
I think the skin tone airbrushed in the hair is supposed to make the hair look thinner, like, you can see the skin through the strands. Idk, I also copied it from other artists xD
Can you tell me how do u colour pick like (the colour we see from the screen and when we transfer to other device or post on social media, the colours are different. ) How can i solve that? Can u please explain ?🥺
If you mean in 2:26 of the video, I’d say she used a brush to outline the drawing, then took off the lineart layer and filled it in manually or with the fill tool. Or, at least that’s how I would do it 😅
for darker skin you must also choose a darker tone for the pin light layer, something less saturated also helps. after coloring the flats in, you can also just edit the hue/sat/brightness of the pinlight layer until you find one that works for you!
Hello! I know this video is from a couple months ago and you might not respond, but as a beginner digital artist i would like to know what's the difference between overpainting and underpainting and what is each method for. Thank you for the video!
similar to real life painting, an underpainting is the foundation for the shadows/lighting/general colors. you can look at overpainting as the finishing touches, or rendering of the piece. overpainting is literally painting over everything. in both digital and irl mediums it would be the top layer. in this vid, i describe underpainting as everything that is "under" the black lines. overpainting is everything "above" the black lines hope that makes sense! sorry if i just confused you more 😭
How do you guys like crop in those colors into the shape? Like when you guys just color in randomly like in the face how do you crop them in? Sorry if it sounds confusing I’m terrible at explaining
I don’t understand how the pin light trick works…I’ve duplicated, made the bottom layer’s blending mode to “pin light” chose a color, but nothing happens…it stays black. Am I missing something?
sometimes that part of the coloring process is therapeutic and satisfying to do by hand. it almost feels like a break from the parts that require more brain power to draw. also since my lines are heavily textured, the bucket tool hates them 😭 and i have to go back in and clean it anyway
There are two versions of clip studio paint: pro and ex. And you do have to put a one-time Payment for either. But you CAN get unlimited access to either for 6 months 😊

How do you stay focused while drawing? Every time I try to sit down and draw, even with music, I can’t focus
I'm good at drawing, but I'm zero at coloring, and your video really helps to have an understanding of how this process happens
how relatable. I can't paint for shit. Spent too much time on mastering my lines lol

Thank you for explaining your rendering process. I'm not very good at rendering so it's awesome to watch how other great artists do it.

How do you color inside a specific area? Do you lineart the specific part in a different layer and color it ?
Beautiful drawing!!!
I think the skin tone airbrushed in the hair is supposed to make the hair look thinner, like, you can see the skin through the strands. Idk, I also copied it from other artists xD
What canvas size do you use?? Love your arts ,❤️
i start with a 8x11in 300 dpi (in case i ever want to turn it into a print) and then crop accordingly
Hi I love your art!!! What brush do you use for your lineart? O:
Bro I got anatomy down but I still can’t render 😭

Great tutorial! It’s really weird most of the comments have no reply’s lol :)
Hello i was just asking after you set the layer to pin light, how do you color the layer as you said because it doesn't show really
both layers must be alpha locked. it wont show if your brush has no texture or variation in opacity
I love your art! Can you do Roxanne wolf in your style Please?♥️
2:52 what is the shortcut you used here on the hair color?
not sure what you mean? if you're talking about changing the hair color, i just went on my color wheel and picked a different color ^_^
@@ayeoops sorry for not being more clear, I meant how it automatically deleted outside of the lineart :)

How do you guys like crop in those colors into the shape? Like when you guys just color in randomly like in the face how do you crop them in? Sorry if it sounds confusing I’m terrible at explaining
you can either alpha lock the layer, or create a new one on top and clip it to the layer below !
@@ayeoops also do you draw the whole sketch on one layer or are they separated?
I don’t understand how the pin light trick works…I’ve duplicated, made the bottom layer’s blending mode to “pin light” chose a color, but nothing happens…it stays black. Am I missing something?
you have to pin the black duplicated layer onto the pinlight layer
@@ayeoops Thank you!
could you figure it out?
Not really.. the line art stays black even when I choose a color. Im wondering if I have to use the brush and color over the black?
@@favorjuliet i tried doing that the colors didn't merge together
