YES, 40 minutes worth of adventure is just what I needed on this Monday morning. Whether it be misty, pouring or sunshine it’s all so captivating. Gorgeous diverse terrain throughout, what a pleasure to be a part of this trip. I love the (very different and beautiful) sheep, also the insects and all other creatures add so much to the video and of course the well chosen music 😊 It’s all about having the time of your life, mission accomplished. Thank you both for having us tag along. 🙏🏻🥰
The day I did that section it was awful - constant driving rain and complete cloud cover so I'll have to go back and do it again in nicer weather! Lovely shots of the views
Beautiful first section. It's a shame you got wet but this is England, it's what we expect. It's vlogs like this that pick me up when I'm slacking on my Ethel Challenge and give me the boost I need. Looking forward to the next section. Thanks for sharing Mary.
Beautiful views long the route, we love the Lake District when it’s peaceful, even with the mist. The hotel you ended with looked spotless and so inviting. Another wonderful video Mary. Thank You. Looking forward to the Yorkshire Dales section.
What a brilliant video, fantastic! Your presentation is second to none and your way of pulling the viewer into your experience is amazing. Keep it up, looking forward to the rest of your journeys 😃
Did the walk Sept 22 - enjoying the videos as they provide so many memories. Only live in Whitehaven (6 miles to St Bees) so next year thinking of catching the train over to RHB/Whitby and walking my way back home. Looking forward to the next installment.
Thats when I did it! I wonder if we were close. Sounds like a great plan walking it in reverse - bet it will feel like a totally different experience 😁
@@MarysOutdoorAdventures started on the 3rd and finished 14 days later. Walked with a HF Holiday group so guide provided, luggage transfers and hotels all the way. If I do the reverse it'll be self planned but still hotels I think.
Thanks for taking the time to put this together and for sharing your hike with us. Beautifully shot and edited video with the usual great story telling! I was familiar with this trail but didn’t have it on my list of potential trails to hike but it looks absolutely lovely from what you’ve shared so far so it’s getting added. Looking forward to the next one, cheers:)
What a great hike, love the views , never knew England had such rugged scenery! And no trees to block view, here in States you have to be out west or above tree line for such views. Love your posts! Don from Mansfield Tx.
😁 Fabulous and stunning video Mary and Derek. You would be forgiven for mistaking the Lakes for the Scottish Highlands along the low route if it weren't for the herdwicks. Fantastic hostels along the way and the cafe at honister slate mine, well that's a day visit in itself 😁 Excellant photography, trail information and as always Your smile and enthusiasm along the way.. Looking forward to the Yorkshire Dale's section 😁 Glad you both had a great time x 😁
Mary, love your videos. Your voice is so distinctive, even when I am randomly flicking through UA-cam hiking videos I recognise your voice every time. Coast to coast, 200 miles wow, I am so impressed. Wish my Mrs had your energy and sense of adventure, recently did the west highland way solo but would have been so much better with a partner. Your partner is very lucky.
Thanks for watching! I’ll be sure to add as much information in as I can in my planning/prep/trail information video for you. If you have any questions you want answering don’t hesitate to ask and I’ll add them in for you!
Hey, what a well produced video! Shame about the weather in the lakes but Mary, I don’t think anything could dampen your spirits. Very uplifting, enjoyable and informative account by two lovely, genuine people, my bag is packed for May/June attempt. 🤗
Some great footage; brings back awesome memories of my time on the C2C. Just a shame you didn’t get better weather up high! And some serious mileage you are doing there… well done (so far!).
Shap has three very nice megalithic standing stones in it. Running NW-SE there is a 14 mile long line of thirteen stone circles. Three are right next to the trail.
Just discovered your channel, I smiled all the way through this, such a lovely video, you both seem really nice too, I'm going to enjoy binge watching all your other videos :)
Girl, that sea water there must be cold. (Menina essa água do mar aí deve estar gelada. Bruu bruuu ☃️) que que isso 🌞 Send a little sun to warm up there. Tem uma pequena árvore que você mostrou que parece com uma fruta que é rara no Brasil amoras pretas e vermelhas
Hi Mary, I’ve just found your Chanel and loving your videos. I’m planning the coast to coast across 12 days and want to maximise using YHA’s. Is there any chance you could reply with where you stayed on your itinery please? I’ve watched your planning videos so I know you locations but a list of the accommodations used would be helpful. I’m going to use a Sherpa service for my bag and try stay in hostels / B&Bs where possible. Thank you, keep up with the videos 😊
You certainly had some long days especially in the lakes Mary, you both must be fit doing the mileage you did each day, it's a pity you didn't see the lakes in all its glory with all the mist, after doing the high route from Borrowdale to Grasmere did you do the St. Sunday Crag route to Patterdale or did you come down the low route, even so you both seem to be enjoying it and as always beautifully filmed.
I really admire your navigation skills. Up there on a mist-enclosed moorland, the idea of a trail looks pretty fungible. It would be so easy to drift off onto another little sheep track and not be able to tell without any visual cues. Are you using map apps with GPS, or just reliable old map and compass -- or both? Anyway, you make it look easy. Of course, I am coming from tree land, where we are spoiled with blazes on the trees every 20 meters or so.
I mainly used a map on my phone for this trail John. I plotted the route for each day before we left (including alternate routes for bad weather days). I also had my Garmin InReach as a backup as well as Derek having it all on his phone too.
I did this, 20 years ago. Such fond memories!
Beautiful hike and the look on Derrik’s face when you said tomorrow was another twenty miles was priceless 😮
I know, I didn’t notice that until I uploaded the video 😂😂
Thanx for sharing that part of the beautiful nature in UK 🌻
Good to see you again my dear friend and hope you are doing well, excellent views an scenery
A great hike! I'm looking for new trails for next year. This one goes on my list! Thanks for the inspiration and greetings from Germany!
Great video Mary. Loved seeing this famous trail x

I spent ages finding the prettiest pebble possible - and then could not bring myself to part with it.
Now I have three!

Some great footage; brings back awesome memories of my time on the C2C. Just a shame you didn’t get better weather up high! And some serious mileage you are doing there… well done (so far!).
Thanks so much Tracey. The mileage evened out as some days it was a lot less 😊

Nice vlogs it inspired me to once fly over from Scandinavia
and walk it

Hi there, did you find the route straight forward to navigate, thinking of doing the walk early 2023, many thanks

No we didn’t do the St Sunday Crag route, we stayed on the lowest route possible!
